Dont be fooled by the pictures of cottages with balconies and green lawn cobstone pathways etc. this was the old tigerland cottages now leased out to someone else which is on the backside of this tigerland. The present one is a saree shop in the market road of kumly town and its basically a lodge with steep steel ladder stairs to climb 2 floors on top of the saree shop. worst when we had booked in end of december, there was no manager or anyone to help but just a nepali boy who cant even speak hindi properly and help from the sareeshop. no check in process nothing. with a 5 year old kid we had to climb up 2 floors to this lodge room and had to come down for everything as there is no service for food or anything. we had paid 2500 per day for a cottage and finally got a lodge room with a auto stand below with noise of vehicles passing all day and night we could not sleep a moment while we had booked a cottage for relaxation in a hilltown. the share autos and jeeps stop below and keep running the engine with the tuktuk noise all night. there are 2 mosques just next door just to end the night with a grand finale of loudspeaker prayers at 5am and then the day starts on a headache to visit the tourist spots. Much worse on the first day after climbing 2 floors thru the ladder we found there was no lock for the room. not even the latches worked. so we could not visit anywhere on the first day as there was no lock and finally they put a lock by 6 PM. so whole day was wasted. the rooms also looked used and not clean, used sheets were rolled back and towels/floors were dirty book here if you want a hell experience. you are warned. stay away even if given for free. I would not stay here again even if paid to stay there again, we had to stay put as it was year end and all other hotels were full in kumily even if we wanted to pay a premium. .…
Basic room but nice enough. Large, clean and comfortable. Close to everything. Wifi didn't work in the room, not very good hot water. Tv reception wasn't great. It was good enough for our quick stop but we wouldn't stay longer.
property is located in the city central and easy access to the spices markets, temple, churches, restaurants etc. Property is maintained decently. No restaurant facility in the property. Recommend this property for budget travelers and for those who love to stay in the town
We had a nice stay here, very good tranquil atmosphere, rooms are spacious and clean. This is the only hotel we found which is on the main road in the market area but still not disturbed by the noise of the market because the rooms are little inside. Just opposite to the hotel there is a very good restaurant Annapurna (pure veg), delicious food.
Very good location , room is very good ,good staff. i stay for 3 day in this hotel very good time spend, provided good service in small budget, Thekkady is wonderful city for natural lover , i love natural beauty so i enjoy so much
