It's a little bit out of town on a quiet street, but still close enough that we could go back and forth, as we needed. The rooms are large and spotless and the family is extremely hospitable and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. This was one of the best places we stayed at on our trip through South India.

Hey guys, I avoid posting because there is not usually a lot to praise in my choice of properties.
This one is a pleasant exception. On arrival we were welcomed and shown the house and facilities. Extremely well organised and comfortable property with a lovely family feel. Room is huge and on level two with private balcony. There is a fridge in the common breakfast/dining room for chilling your drinks. We enjoyed two different and very tasty breakfasts. The building is architecturally interesting for those that can appreciate that. Location is in back streets with lots of garden and trees surrounding, so it's very quite at night. A couple of minutes to town by tuk tuk. So highly recommended!! Cons: Yet to find anyone in India who can make good coffee, so if you're a tea drinker, you're all set. Cheers. Denis

Myself and my Mother stayed there for 1 night. Peaceful Residential location in Thekaddy. It was lovely and warm hospitality from Rehna & Teju who maintains this property and lives there with her family. Very warm people, wonderful home cooked breakfast with local delicacies and everything fresh on the Breakfast table.

The rooms are quite spacious with attached balcony and also large clean washrooms with all requisite amenities that one requires for a few days.

They being one of the best (Diamond Category) properties and serving all foreign Tourist groups, the property is well maintained and upto the standards. The market and restaurants are hardly at a 5 - 7 mins driving distance. Very much accessible.

As part of our two-week tour of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, we stayed in Periyar Villa for one night. The villa was booked by our travel agent and we didn't get a chance to look up the reviews before our stay. Of the 10 places we stayed (all 3/4/5 stars) during our trip, I would rate this Home Stay Villa the best of all. The ambiance, room furnishings, the warmth and friendliness of the Host couple, all make us feel sorry that we didn't stay for longer. When we arrived in the early afternoon, Rehna gave us a very warm welcome and once we settled down she and her husband made arrangements for us to visit the plantation, then got us front row seats for the Kathakali and Martial Arts programs at the nearby arts center. They also arranged for front row seats for the boat ride in the Periyar Lake next morning. We are a retired couple living in New York and spending a night in the villa made us seriously consider going back to this Villa for a few days every year. Just by hosting us for one night, Rehna and her husband made us feel we have a bond.

Perfect homestay in Kumily. The bedroom is very large with a balcony to the garden. We only stayed one night but we wish we could stay longer. The lady was so kind she prepared 2 breakfasts for us, 1 continental early in the morning before the reserve visit and 1 Indian breakfast afterwards. The cardamome pancakes are the best I have ever eaten ! We also had a complimentary visit of the spices garden which was very interesting. There are many things to do in Kumily !

We stayed for 3 nights in a luxurious bedroom within this beautiful family home. The hosts were amazing and couldn't have done any more to make us welcome. They also arranged all our visits - to the spice farm, kalari, and jungle trekking, boating and rafting. Breakfasts and home made biscuits were out of this world. Unforgettable!

I wondered if we stayed in the same place when I read the previous reviews. While the room was certainly spacious, the breakfast very nice and the host gracious, we were astounded at the lack of air conditioning in such a lovely home. Our room was like an oven and no amount of fan blowing would cool the air. Together with the very hard bed, it made for two unpleasant nights "sleep". Further, the WiFi was very poor, and the room was not serviced until we asked for extra tea and milk. So overall, it was not up to the standard we had expected.

We only had a 2 night stay but this was glorious. A perfect base to explore the area. The balcony overlooked the subtropical garden where one could watch the birds in the morning. The room was very large with every facility. Rekna provided lovely breakfasts and was very warm and friendly.
The villa is situated down a quiet road a little out of town but easy access to a range of activities.

We only stayed two nights in this wonderful place. How we wish we had been able to stay more. We had a modern and spacious room complete with shower room and a balcony. The cooking was superb, really delicious and the lady explained just what we were eating, how it was prepared and what spices were used. The rest of the family were also very welcoming. We would recommend this Homestay to anyone.
This is NOT a hotel.

Stayed 3 nights in this wonderful homestay. The beautiful rooms are huge and very comfortable. We loved sitting on the balconies watching the birds, there was even a swing chair! The family were very welcoming and we had excellent food.
