Stay in Lesotho, stay here! Staff is very helpful and friendly! Apartments/lodges are great. Electricity is limited. Only a few hours, so make sure all your electricals are charged in those few hours and light a candle because the nights are dark! Lay in the grass and enjoy the night sky full of stars and the Milky Way!!

Rooms are authentic, but well equipped. Shower is hot, beds are comfortable. Staff are fantastic, bartender is friendly. Asst. manager is very helpful! Ask him to book things for you. Horseback riding to the bushman cave paintings, which are 2700 years old, is sublime. Price is very reasonable, although meals are expensive.

Malealea Lodge is a beautiful, peaceful place. I came needing a break from frenetic city life and some space to hear my own thoughts - I found exactly that. From the second you cross over the Gates of Paradise pass and see the still, calm landscape stretching below you, it feels like you are entering another world. Malealea Lodge is...

I have stayed at the Malealea Lodge for 6 weeks aver the last 5 years. I am with a group that volunteers to help with schools in the area. We are called "Africa's Gift". The Lodge is considered a hostel and is quite comfortable. The meals are all good and healthy food which were included in our room rates. The...

We arrived in pouring rain, and the Manager on duty (Glen?) didn't had anybody that could help with our bags. I had to keep a toddler busy while my hubby unpacked our car that was parked far from our room. Although it was a wet and muddy start to our stay, it is a great place for families to take...

Very tranquil location close to the community. Lots to do hiking mountain biking horseback riding or wander the village. Very good bar and cooking facilities. No power 10pm to 6am. We had no hot water and frequently no water. Have to pay for wifi

Far in the inlands is this beautiful logde. In december there was a very dry and hot climate. Because of no rain for months there was a "big" shortage of water. That's why there is only for 2 hours water in the morning, and 2 hours in the evening. So yes, it's correct that you can't flush your toilet during...

Good food, Good service and very friendly staff. Will recommend the Lodge to anybody that needs a break away from a busy life. Will be back in the future. Loved the horse riding, choir and life band before dinner at nights.

The Malealea lodge has grown over the years into a pretty extensive ensemble of buildings on a hill in Western Lesotho. Rooms are simple and comfortable, food is ok (depending on your expectations - given the circumstances it is even good). We visited the place in early January during a terrible drought and heat wave. Even at 1800m above sea...
