We stayed here and found a nice place at the beach! Beach is perfect, remote and clean! Perfect swim! Directly in front of the house! It’s possible to walk in 20 minutes to the street where you find buses to Kannur or Thalassery (for the train). Plus: very good Indian food freshly cooked! Simple but clean rooms with a nice breeze from the sea! Good value! Go there, and not to Blue Mermaid: much to expensive for a mediocre Ambiente and food just made for tourist who have no idea of real India!
They say to find truth, you need to loose opinion! This was one of the most beautiful trips I'v ever done. Well it was quite a ride to find the resort, however when you take the last turn and witness nature at this end of India, you are bound to be flabbergasted. The Beach is extremely clean. The sea is calm and pristine. What else do you require to relax? We were given the Balcony room and it was very satisfying. Food was awesome, its light and homemade. I loved their different fish curries and the Ghee rice was amazing too. Sajid is a humble person who is always there to help and customize your stay according to your wishes. Loved the Late night and early morning walks by the beach. Try hitting this place on a full moon to make the trip extensively magical! Do not forget to try Toddy, Various Fish recipes and the Ghee Rice. Just one Word to describe my Kannur Trip:- MagiC!…
Pros :- 1. Placement of the property is nice (just in front of beach, you will get a feeling of private beach). 2. Not too much crowded (If you love serenity). Cons :- 1. Food is not at all good and very expensive (better make some alternative arrangements for your stay). 2. Rooms are average. Special note for resort Staff :- We were confirmed that all the three rooms we have booked will get balcony and sea view. But on reaching to the place they provided only two rooms with balcony. Other had to adjust with a basic room with least posible amenities. So travelling this far to occupy a normal room and paying for a expensive room was not worth it. We suggest to not trust the staff. By any chance if you are travelling to Kannur I would recommend not to opt for this place. In case, if this is the last available option you have then I would suggest you to stay back at your home or change the destination rather than spoiling you and your partners mood.…
I had a pleasant stay in this place. The staff is really nice, i spent my first night in Kerala. They made me a very good traditional diner, very tasty. Waking up with the beautiful sea worths it. I wouldn't say althought it is a resort but a nice big house with a quiet garden. It is away from everything, you cant go anywhere without a car. The
This place is great if you want to get away from it all for a few days! It's a place where your surrounded by nothing but the beach and the ocean. All meals are served on site, and the food is wonderful, home cocked and local. The rooms are modern and very clean (by Indian standards!), and there's a patio that's great for reading and relaxing. The owner/manager is extremely welcoming and always easy to get in touch with. The older couple that lives on site are also very charming and friendly.
This place was very hard for the taxi driver to find, because there isn't any signage and its down a small dirt path, but once you find it, it is a gem! The rooms are clean and spacious. The couple who run it are very friendly and helpful, and the home-cooked food is some of the best we had in India! The place is just steps away from a beautiful beach that is almost a private since it is so far away from the town. There are only a few resorts nearby, so there aren't many people, and all the resorts are set back from the beach so the whole place is beautiful and undisrupted. And if the beach wasn't enough, they helped us to hire a rickshaw for a tour of the area, to visit the fort and a thayyum performance. Overall it was a lovely stay!
Kizhunnarocks was a lovely homestay. We were looked after by three fantastic people, who arranged a trip to see a Theyyam. A fantastic experience. The food cooked by Darkness wife was marvelous, especially the river crab. In addition, the beach was fantastic. Unfortunately for us we experienced a retreating monsoon so couldn't' spend as much time as we would have like to there.
This is a lovely guesthouse situated right on the beach. The owner and staff are fantastic with wonderful home cooked meals provided. We were able to attend a Theyyam ritual which was a fantastic experience. Our host was only too happy to help out and make sure we had a great time. If you want to relax in peace stay here.
We felt so lucky to find this little place. Only 3 rooms & set in a garden compound , we had a little hut to ourselves. Owner & staff very helpful, good fresh home cooking . We could completely relax here. The beach a stone throw away we could hear the sea at night. Beach clean & nearly deserted. The lovely owner arranged for us to go to a Theyyam festival , an excellent Ayurvedic massage& got us our train tickets . One of the best stays of our 7 week trip to India. But try & keep it a secret !
We stayed in the hotel part of Kizhunna rocks, with AC and a balcony overlooking the beach. It's a great location - literally on the beach which we had to ourselves during our stay! Nice to get off the beaten track. It is difficult for rickshaw drivers to find, so it's a good idea to call ahead and maybe even arrange a pick up. The room was spotless, overlooking a lovely landscaped garden. The staff were so accommodating - our host, Prince, was very kind and always ensuring we had exactly what we needed! Dinner was cooked to our request, and Prince even knocked down tender coconuts for us when we were thirsty... The owner also helped us organize a car to our next stay in Wayanad, which made the trip so easy... would definitely recommend!
