The Millstream nestles in the heart of Old Bosham, an historic village on the shores of Chichester Harbour, combining the elegance of a small English country house with the character and charm of an eighteenth century malthouse cottage. The Bar offers a cosy fireside setting in which to relax. On warm days a door opens onto the lawns where you can sit beneath a sunshade and listen to the chatter of the ducks. The charming sitting room, with its deep cushioned armchairs, grand piano, bowls of freshly cut flowers and tranquil atmosphere, is the ideal place to meet up with friends over a afternoon tea or an aperitif, to play a quiet game of cards or just settle down and while away the hours with a good novel. The 2 AA Rosette Restaurant, overlooking the pretty gardens, offers a varied selection of modern British dishes, prepared with the best available fresh, seasonal, local produce, which are complemented by a list of fine wines from an established cellar. Each enchanting bedroom has been attractively styled to enhance its individual character and outlook. All have en-suite facilities, flat screen television, wi-fi internet access, radio/CD alarm clock, tea & coffee making facilities, mini-fridge with complimentary mineral water & fresh milk, direct dial telephone, wall safe, trouser press and hairdryer. The Gardens that surround the hotel are carefully tended and provide a wonderful place to relax in the warmer weather. Overlooking the stream in the side garden is an oak Gazebo which was built for a Wild family wedding and which now provides shelter from the rain or sun. In the summer months there are tables and chairs at which you can enjoy morning coffee, a light lunch, afternoon tea, a cocktail before dinner or an al fresco meal as the sun comes down.

Dear Paul M, Many thanks for your review and 5 star rating. It is nice to hear we were recommended and you had an enjoyable experience. Being family owned and run we do put an emphasise on a friendly welcome and having cheerful staff throughout the hotel. The Millstream makes for a cosy winter break and our log burner certainly does generate some heat! Do come back in the summer to enjoy our gardens and perhaps the local beaches at West Wittering and East Head. Perhaps you will see your alias if you stay with us on your mutual wedding anniversary again next year! Thank you for staying with us. Best regards, Tom Sherlock Hotel Manager

Stayed here for one night due to work in the area and what can I say - just fabulous. From start to finish. Our room was on the ground floor and had its own little garden. There was an abundance of extremely soft towels in the bathroom plus all the usual toiletries. We had a show

Dear Tinge044 Many thanks for your review and kind words, plus the 5/5 score. I note your comment about dairy intolerance and am glad you enjoyed the dishes prepared for you. We always try hard to create dishes for all intolerances, even if we are unaware of these until the guest is at the hotel. I will ensure Tushar and head chef Neil and his team are aware of your kind words. We pride ourselves on all food service and it is nice to read your comments on our breakfast. All breakfast items are cooked to order from an extensive menu as you know doubt noted. I hope to see you again for a leisure stay in the future. Best regards, Tom Sherlock Hotel Manager

We were given a warm welcome on arrival and check in was very good and informative. We wasn’t shown to our room and there was no offer of helping with bags, no problem though we managed and found the room ok. The room was very clean and cosy. It looked like it had recently been r

Dear Downba, Many thanks for your review. I note your comment on assistance with bags and can only apologise this wasn’t offered to you. I am glad you enjoyed the room and amenities we provide. The Millstream Restaurant is rated 2 Rosettes by the AA and we try hard to make the experience and service very enjoyable. We do include an optional service charge of 10% which is shared equally among the restaurant and kitchen staff – but is in no way obligatory. I look forward to you staying with us in the future. Best regards, Tom Sherlock Hotel Manager

Dear Flygirl1718, We noted your TripAdvisor question in October and are glad the Superior Garden Room was available for your stay. We have tried hard to include home from home comforts as you rightly mention to make each stay a little more memorable. I am glad you made the most of the Hibernation offer and dined in each restaurant during your stay; we like to give flexibility and guests the option to dine in both restaurants for stays of two or more nights. Head Chef, Neil, has seasonal dishes and favourites on both menus – we are yet to put your marriage proposal to him! I will be sure to pass on your kind words to each of the team members you have mentioned. We look forward to seeing you again soon; do visit us in the Spring or Summer months as sitting in the gardens in evening sunshine or dining alfresco at Marwick’s brasserie is particularly nice. Best regards, Tom Sherlock Hotel Manager

We would like the biggest room with kingsize bed or twin with a walk in shower on an upstairs floor, any room number recommended please. It has to be the best, but preferably not a cottage, rather in the main building thanks
The Superior Garden Room is located on the ground floor and is the best room in the hotel. It features a King size bed, private garden, bathroom with walk in shower and roll top bath. To see a description and imagery, go to the hotel website and select Stay, then Bedrooms - selecting Superior Garden Room (NB web links cannot be posted here unfortunately). If you click Book Now on the hotel website you will also be able to see the Advance Purchase rates, which are 10% cheaper and not available on any booking website. Have a lovely stay.

Do any of the rooms have American-sized queen or king beds? Thanks!
Yes, we always ask for and get a king sized bed room. These are usually two three foot singles zipped together. We also ask for and get sheets and blankets instead of the dreaded duvets. Anything you ask for they will try and accommodate you. Enjoy.

Do you have a listening service for babies and small children? Or baby sitting?
You need to ask the hotel but I doubt it.
