They check under your car for bombs every time you enter this wonderland of redeployed Borobodurian splendor. The accommodations and service are flawless - everything works more or less perfectly, the staff is trained in the best Aman traditions of uber-gracious toadyness, and the interiors are right out of Architectural Digest, with a dollop of Tony Duquette. They even give...

We have lived and traveled extensively in Asia for 33 years, staying in excellent hotels. Because of the cost, we never splurged for an Aman experience, even though we enjoyed dinner at many of them. The biggest asset was that Amanjiwo afforded us real access to the local community. Our village tour, art tour, palm reader, and evening visit to...

Maybe we went there at the wrong season where there were not enough staff... we were there for the Muslim holiday for 3 nights. The villa was beautiful and without fault. Because I told them prior to arriving that we will have our nannies with us, they have prepared 2 single beds in one of them rooms so that was...

The setting of the hotel between the mountains and the rice fields is really great, rooms and facilities are stylish and very luxurious, and the service is excellent. The staff is quite exceptional. For example, the person who guided us through the monument in Borobudur wasn't just knowledgeable about the site, but had actually read a lot about Buddhism and...

stayed in this hotel for 1 night only, too short for amazingly beautiful property. The staffs are very polite and friendly. The atmosphere of the hotel, and surrounding areas are gorgeous and majestic. Stayed at the borobudur sute, where u can see this ancient herritage in front of you, surrounded by super breathaking volcanoes. The setting of this hotel is...

It's hard to write a review about Amanjiwo without resorting to flowery superlatives. We had the most perfect 6 night stay we could have asked for. It starts at Yogya airport where you are whisked away by private car to a nearly lounge while your luggage retrieval and customs requirements are fulfilled by an assistant. (This may be for longer...

My husband and I stayed at Amanjiwo over New Year's Eve of 2009 for 2 nights. It is only now that I feel compelled to write a review, partly because we have been monitoring all reviews for this resort in Tripadvisor before and after our stay, and we found that almost everyone had stellar and over-the-top praises for the resort....

Disappointing because my BFF and I shared a room and she had recently had an excellent 4-night stay at the Amankila in Bali and insisted we try this one. Amanjiwo did not come close to her experience at the Amankila. Frustrating because all of the elements are there for this to be a great resort but due to an obvious...

Having been to many Aman properties worldwide, we had very high expectations for Amanjiwo. Suffice to say they were surpassed. GM Mark and his team do a fantastic job in maing sure that no stone goes unturned in ensuring that your stay is perfect. We stayed in a Borobudur Pool Suite, which felt brand new and did not lack anything....
