Certificate of Excellence
Amanjiwo (peaceful soul) overlooks Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist sanctuary, in the rural heartland of Central Java. Located in one of the most scenic parts of the country, the Menoreh Hills rise up behind and no less than four volcanoes grace the horizon. Amanjiwo provides the opportunity for immersion in Javanese culture, offering trips to ceremonies, temples and antique shops. Private dawn and sunset visits to Borobudur and other archeological monuments in the vicinity are the highlight of a stay.

In the summer of 2018, I had the chance to trravel here, by myself. Everything was extraordinary. Food, room, service, location, bed, activities, silence. A true aman property. Bing some earplugs if you are sensitive to early morning chants.

Just contact the resort direct as soon as possible. I am sure they will be able to help as they were very careful with my nut allegy.

It's a couple minutes by car, and they're happy to shuttle you over. They can also arrange the pre-dawn tour if you're willing (and it's worth it, to avoid the crowds, see some amazing lighting and avoid the heat). As for... More
