Looking for a good place to stay in Chidambaram can be interesting . Finally , we decided on The Grand Park .

The reception desk only stare and look . Room was full of mosquitoes , we'd insect repellants to counter this problem . Towels were clean & luckily we'd our own . We spread our veshtis on top of the bedsheets -just to be safe .

Now for some positive points .
There was hot water in the bathroom & the place was clean .
Air condition was available .
We'd good rest that night as place was quiet and nice .
The distance from hotel to Nataraja Temple is the main factor .

The Grand Park is located in a very important town as Chidambaram , I hope that the owner & management will look into matters and keep upgrading the place . Once a good word goes round many pilgrims will come to stay .

Hotel is near to Nataraja Temple. Parking is spacious. 10-15 can be parked. Complimentary breakfast has limited varieties but taste ok

Examples of horrible service :-

Bed Linen was dirty and was not replaced
Centralized AC was not working properly in my room
complained 4-5 times but no action was taken
Asked for blanket and pillow which I got after 3 followups
same is the case with toiletries
wardrobe was not clean and handle broken

I had booked for 2 days stay through online and had paid the amount upfront
while i was away visiting a temple in the 2nd day afternoon, I received a call from reception stating I had to vacate the room since I had booked only for 1 day
they were not ready to listen to me over the phone so I had to rush back to the hotel and explain in person that I had booked 2 days with the booking details I had. the manager who was present there at this time was not interested in resolving the issue

and while checking in I saw one customer complaining about the hotel's service in the reception. same story when i was checked out, saw a customer complaining about the service

Choose this hotel if you don't have any other better option. rooms are small, no in house restaurant, very limited and common staff both in the hotel and the restaurant, so the service is dam slow and sometimes no response also. The only advantage is it is near the temple.
The staff was a little rude also. When i complained the door key is not working, the guy at the reception was instructing us that the keys were not given to play and have to be handled carefully. When i asked him, how can he talk to me like that, he never even bothered to say sorry.
So, as already said...."Choose only if no option"

I stayed for a night here with my two friends. I was allocated single occupancy room whereas my two friends were allocated double occupancy room. I prefer to stay single. However there was some technical problem in air conditioning unit and hence they relocated me in another room after 02 hours of check in. It was double occupancy room and I stayed single. Room was clean and Air Conditioner performance was average. I had to stay with AC and ceiling fan both were switched on simultaneously. In bathroom, hot and normal water facility was there. Property has ample car parking space and located at centre place of religious town in Tamil Nadu ie Chidambaram. But the hotel doesn’t have restaurant. I was told that it is going to function soon. We had our dinner and breakfast at Sri Krishna Veg Restaurant just opposite to the Hotel where I enjoyed delicious hygienic South Indian dishes in air conditioned ambiance.

Avoid like a plague. Online photos are deceiving. The rooms were dirty. We booked a Superior room. Initially, they gave a room with broken furniture, dust, and cobwebs. When we complained they changed us to another room which was marginally better. The bathroom contained no amenities - not even soap!! Looking at this we were not comfortable having breakfast there even though the room included complimentary breakfast. We did not have a good experience and would NOT recommend this hotel.

The first floor of the hotel is a constructionsite (since 2016). Unfinished elevatorshafts allows bats to enter the hotel. We met a mongust in the restaurant ; )

Second floor is comparatively better, but the incompetence of the staff caused our group great inconvenience and delay. They were not ready to receive us and simple things as towels and extra beds booked in advance was a problem.

One girl in our group was treated in a highly inappropriate way by a staffmember when she was sitting alone in the receptionarea.

Our complaints were in no way met with understanding from the staff, so we had to spend time arguing and fighting with over simple things.

The staff at this hotel is not capable of receiving international guests and the hygenic standards are likewise not at an acceptable standard.

The hotel is a dump. We checked in at 2 PM and immediately asked for a set of towels and soap. This was missing. At 8 PM I still did not get a set of towels and soap.

The front desk was lying outright about it. The operations manager was asking me to relax. It still took them about 30 mins to get me something so rudimentary.

The room service was not there. The building was in a delapitated state and under repairs.

Please be warned ... This is not a place to stay!

Dont Ever Choose this hotel... not fully constructed... got rain in summer is happiest occassion but its raining inside the hotel is very sad...

Staffs are not clean, always chewing .....

Rooms are not having inner locks, room boys opening the rooms in the night time...

Managers are not so responsive or active in responding...we called reception for check out but it took more than 30 mints to send room boys...

Extra beds are charged but when we asked the bill managers are screaming at our side after some discussion informed me system having some problem and gave us a bill with out mentioning our extra bed amount and our food bills.

I never seen such a rude managers... keen only in their money not in the service.. during check in itself insisting for cash, we informed them that we will pay after some time as our cash inside our bag and we are too tired after a long travel... we paid cash as they asked, but during check out again they are asking cash... and showing their rude appology saying that system misbehaves...

Be sure in getting your receipts or else you will be fooled.....

Finally i wont recommend this hotel to any one any more... GRAND IS ONLY IN THE NAME.

BETTER CHOOSE SOME OTHER HOTELS LIKE AKSHAYA, SARADARAM.. MORE AND MOST BETTER THAN THIS GRAND PARK.

Hotel was quite comfortable and pretty close to the temple. Staff also were very helpful. It is just that we found that Cleartrip had charged us significantly higher than the holel tariff itself and this was not disclosed while we did the booking. We would consider this as tantamount to taking the consumer for a ride. I am sure we will not do any further hotel booking through cleartrip.

Extremely impolite Hotel Staff, Very mediocre rooms. The Hotel is under renovation, looks quite shady. Except that it is walkable to the temple, there was no other advantage to this hotel. No in house restaurant. I definitely will not go this hotel again. Since I had booked in advance and made the payment online, I chose to stay.
