We went on a temple visit as part of a dance troupe. Everyone stayed in Chidambaram, we opted for those resort even though it's 17kms away from the temple. It's a large, old village home converted into a hotel. As a typical village home it is very pretty. The rooms are clean and spacious. The restaurant, if we can call...

The hotel is a very nice hotel where a little bit outside of the downtown. You can relax there and if you want to take part of a spiritual ceremony, besides is a temple. They start early in the morning, but it is not something that disturbs you by sleeping. Maybe could be for available a little more tourist information...

This place is a home stay and not a resort. Just because it has sprawling grounds and some greenery around it cannot be termed a resort. The basic amenities are very poor. The so called dining area is pathetic. Food is no good. The staff are not trained and very rustic in behaviour. In fact one of the staff was...

A lovely property 15 Km South of Chidambaram , its conveniently located with each access to Kumbakonam ( 45 Km). The property is a structure from 1940's that has been converted to a hotel Lots of open green space , right in the middle of a village the Property has its own small temple and pond. Although this was remote and a little difficult to find, the grounds were spacious and serene. The building itself had a "heritage" feeling, and the history of the place was interesting to read. We enjoyed our large room. Our only concern was around food. Complimentary breakfast was a little marginal in quality, and unless we ordered ahead of time, we...

Remote but very well maintained approach road. Clean and spacious room. Large bathroom with clean towels. Beautiful grounds which you can explore early morning. The birds, butterfly and calm reflections in the fish pond was memorable. Please do go to the roof to have a panoramic view. Food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent and tasty. The freshly made pineapple juice...

The owners of the popular hotel Saradaram in Chidambaram, Tamilnadu, also have this property, Lakshmi Vilas, near the Veeranam Lake, around 10 kms outside Chidambaram. It is more like a guesthouse/ homestay. The heritage building, with its large outdoor open spaces and large rooms and bathrooms, is peaceful and homely. Don't expect modern amenities, try and enjoy the traditional hospitality....

We stayed for one night and overall our experience was average. The rooms were were a bit small, furnishing was OK and service wasn't anything exceptional.Food quality was good though. If you need to stay in Chidambaram this is probably your best bet for a quality place (overpriced though) but if you are looking for a heritage experience you are...

This is a "heritage resort" some distance away from the hustle and bustle of Chidambaram. The rooms are large and well appointed. The ensuite bathroom is large and clean. The staff are are friendly and the service is great. The buffet breakfast (included in the room tariff) was tasty and elaborate. Food served in the restaurant was also good -...
