For the price I paid this place was excellent. The property was excellent, very Heritage looking and green. If they spruce up the rooms and upkeep they can charge double. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and beds comfortable. I enjoyed the nice South Indian breakfast. Great place to start the Ponniyin Selvan trail.
Poorly maintained rooms - completely run down. The fan just stopped working in the middle of the night and it was very hot. Religious prayers begin at 5:00 AM They are so loud that’s it’s impossible to sleep post that. The only upside is that the staff is great.
Our main purpose was a visit to the Vaitheeswaran kovil temple. I wanted a decent place to stay so looked for accommodation in Chidambaram. First of all the Google maps location of this place is wrong. It showed us an area in Chidambaram town based on which I planned the entire journey (since it was a road trip) but in reality this was 17km away from the main town, appx 40 min by car. This significantly changed our travel time! The resort as such was big but very poorly maintained. Of course the staff explained that the pandemic has taken a big hit on business, that’s understandable. But in that case they shouldn’t accept bookings. The rooms were run down, smelled of pesticide, so much that I started sneezing through the night. It didn’t have toiletries, or proper garbage disposal. There were cobwebs behind doors. WiFi wasn’t working. Laundry service was non existent. Bedding was dirty. There were lots of mosquitoes. I’m mentioning all of these here because the amenities section on MMT said all of these were available The most problematic thing was, they didn’t have a fully functioning kitchen. Since we travelled with a toddler we required milk often but they didn’t have it. They tried accommodating our requests as much as possible. I had booked via MMT with a complimentary breakfast package. But in the morning when we asked they said they ONLY have idlies for breakfast! No idea why that was called as complimentary breakfast! The ONLY reason I’m giving even 2 stars is for the courteous and polite staff. They tried being as accommodating as possible. Would definitely not go back here!…
This is heritage style hotel. Neatly maintained rooms and clean beds. Rightly priced and you will get the feel of heritage stay. Enjoyed the stay during 2 days. Krishna and other staffs here were very helpful and guided us well. Food needs improvement.
Loved the stay Excellent staff Very helping and took very good care ,children enjoyed the stay ,remote though but the staff made it with their care Food was also not easy on stomach Thank you for the service
Great property spread across 4 1/2 acres but in bad condition - very shabby and poorly maintained , wash basins and toilets had stains , dining room was smelling and table cloth had stains , kitchen was a mess , gardens were poorly maintained - overall a very poorly maintained property - for this the rates they charge is exorbitant
This is an amazing place with the most caring staff I have ever come across. The setting is heritage with the right mix of modern facilities, accommodations are perfect, food is delicious, views are amazing. Staff took very good care of us and deserve special recognition. I'll definitely visit again.
You can stay and live like the real landlord and enjoy the truly innocent village lifestyle. It is 5 acre resort, with rooms built only 10% of the area and rest of the area is fully trees, greenery, play area, tennis court, etc. The rooms are neat and clean with red oxide flooring, which keeps the room very cool (also you have AC in all the rooms). Food is prepared is an homely style and with lots love, passion and hospitality towards their guest. That makes their food very tasty. They provide mostly south indian food (idly, dosa, rice, chappathi, chicken, fish, fried rice, noodles, bread omelette etc.). You get very good fresh lake fish from the famous big VEERANAM lake close (2KM) to the resort. They also give you fresh picked tender coconut from their farm. To ice the cake, their care and hospitality was very good! Their communication is good with decent English (they have many foreign guest mostly!). Their team headed by Mr. Suresh (The Captain), Padma (The vice captain - All-in-All), Ramesh (Guardian / Care Taker), Padma (The super chef! ) is always there for you with ring of a bell! (you will understand when you go there). Enjoy! Relax @ Landlord Bungalow!…
It was relaxing ancient home rooms were very quiet and specious lovely atmosphere service was neat and clean view was nice it was new experience my trip we are thoroughly enjoyed all the basic amenities are available .
Padma, the chief of staff took such good care of us during our time here. Freshly brewed coffee at short notice, quick lunch, flexible check in-out timing - nothing was too much to ask for as she organised it all at no extra charge! If you are looking to relax with your family and savour true Tamil culture in a rustic ambience, this place should be visited!
