We took an impromptu trip to visit temples in and around Kumbakonam. Given the COVID scenario, having kids and parents we wanted to ensure we stay in a safe place. Trip advisor had this property ranked 1 of 55 resorts and the reviews were impressive. We luckily got rooms as it was during weekdays. My first impression Even before we reached they called us enquiring if we wanted to have lunch on the day we checked in. We have stayed in a lot of properties and this was a first. About the property Extremely beautiful place filled with flora and fauna and very well designed houses . The entrance has Annapoorni sitting amidst a small pond filled with fish which you get to feed in the morning. There is a chai kadai ( tea shop) that opens mornings and evenings so you can get a hot cup of tea/ coffee and munch on some hot bajji/ pakoda in the evenings. It has an ayurvedic spa, a swimming pool, a badminton court, board games table tennis indoor so you don't have to worry about good time pass. There is pottery demo in the evening and you get to make small pot/ diya with help of a Potter. You can take cycles to go around the nearby village or just roam around in the property. The highlight of this place is you can see peacocks and peahens - plenty of them roaming around which adds to the beauty. Food Limited options if you are vegetarians but very healthy and tasty food . They dont use maida or too much oil and hence you can happily eat as much as you like. The complimentary breakfast has bread, fruits and you are also served hot tiffen items as combo or seperate as you wish. Activities fish feeding Pottery Cycling Chess Pallankuzhi Carrom TT Badminton Suggestion - this is the reason for one star less The only thing that was missing was a small play area for the kids and this property will be a perfect getaway for families and you could use this as a base and visit temples around enjoying this serene atmosphere.

Excellent Hospitality and Services . Definitely a place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life , to be surrounded by nature , peacocks, butterflies and birds. Good local cuisine and friendly staff. Lot of historical Living Chola temple's & Nagrahara temples that can be visited in the vicinity. For those interested in the arts visit a Kalmakari Artist Studio or see Bronze works. They also offer pottery classes ,bicycles which we enjoyed. One can use the pool or have a massage.

The property is a must visit when you want to stay in Kumbakonam. Its a huge property which is well spread out, beautiful rooms, not to forget mentioning the bathrooms which have open roofs, smallest of details taken care of right from doors to windows to everything, one should never miss an opportunity to stay at this place. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Place is well sanitized and maintained during these covid times. Must visit when in Kumbakonam purely for an experiential stay.
