My husband and I had the best summer holiday at Albir Hills Apartments & Spa. Due to a delayed flight we arrived in the middle of the night. Thankfully the reception team had already sent across a detailed map with clear instructions on how to access the apartment and we had no issues accessing at 2am! When we arrived they had put the air conditioning already on, with bottled water already in the fridge and toiletries for both me and my husband displayed nicely. It was those little details that meant a lot.

The team at Albir Hills kindly whatsapped us on our first day and before our last which I thought was a great way to greet guests and remind us about the check out procedure.

We stayed here for two weeks. We didn't rent a car so we did have to walk up and down the hill if we wanted to get to the beach or to the supermarket. For me and my husband we didn't mind the walk and we took rucksacks when we went to the shops. We bought our water and anything we'd forgotten at the mini mart that is onsite at Albir Hills. It was well stocked and the team were really helpful. Plenty of people did get taxis up and down the hill if you don't want to walk, there is a taxi rank opposite Consum supermarket if you wanted to get a taxi after your food shop.

Every morning at reception we had a cafe con leche (only €2) and at evening a caña (same price as the coffee!). The staff were always so lovely and chatty, Lucas was brilliant and he recommended some brilliant restaurants (Enrique's and No-Mad were highlights)!. Rhianna was also really helpful and friendly, checking we were enjoying our stay and organising a late checkout on our departure date when we had asked.

All of the team were so lovely and we enjoyed the quietness of the area. We could always get a sunbed, the reception is open 10-00-1800 (the bar is open until 2100) and we met a family who had returned here for many years which is a great reflection of the business.

We will happily return again next time we visit Albir. Many thanks to all of the staff that made our visit so welcome and valued.

I We stayed in the Albir hills resort from 8/8/23 for 10 days. The apartment had two bedrooms and two bathrooms and was fantastic throughout with amazing views .Super modern gym and brilliant pool and sunbed area. No need to get up early for a sunbed. The hill was a bit of a problem at first but it's only 4/5 euro by taxi. Don't be waiting at the taxi rank for a taxi ring them direct they never once let us down (L'Alfas & Albir taxi 965856101) .Staff were fantastic and many thanks to the lovely Rhianna, Lucas ( true gentleman) and Aaron (legend) with a special mention to Phil , Jenny and Leyla it was a pleasure to meet you all. All in all a very special holiday. Many thanks Gary, Sharon,Ryan and Mia.

The resort is very clean but nothing much to do at the resort. The furniture and bedding was very old and need to be changed. There was no real oven, but they had a conventional micro-oven. The bedrooms were very small. My wife and I had a two-bedroom which we find very uncomfortable

We only stayed in the Albir Hills Apartment for five nights, the view of the town and the sea is breathtaking. The apartments is clean, cozy and had everything for comfort, good air conditioning and comfortable beds. There is a swimming pool, saved us from the heat. The staff is very friendly and helpful, thanks to Rihanna and Aaron for their hospitality. We will definitely return to Albir Hills Apartments. Thank you

We stayed at Albir Hills for four weeks in lovely 2 bedroom accommodation with nice big terrace, and lovely views to the Bay. Located near lighthouse, which has different walks depending on your needs.

Accommodation was just perfect, comfy beds, plenty room. We used the pool and spa a lot, and my husband enjoyed the gym. We in fact stayed 10 days longer than we planned. So that says a lot. Staff cheerful and helpful - thank you Arron and Marco. We will be back soon

I booked this together with RCI as a 4 star resort however in South African standards, this resort scrapes 2 stars. The kitchen is neat and lounge is bearable, but the tiny tv that is so far away from the couches is quite useless as nobody can seen whats on the screen since it is so small and also fuzzy with poor reception. Upstairs is bad. The bedrooms are similar to a hostel with wooden beds and cheap mattresses. There is absolutely no decor in the bedrooms. Both are very standard and just has bear necessities. The bathroom is the worst. The bathroom at the top has a bath with a teddy-bear and heart shower curtain fit only for a 3-year old bathroom. The toilet seat is cracked and chipped. There are no mixer taps in the basin. The bathroom at the bottom has a shower which is dark and dingy and has a dirty blue shower curtain. All cleaning buckets, mops and brooms etc. are stored in the shower. The toilet seat is also chipped in the bottom bathroom and the toilet did not flush. I am not used to this kind of sub-standard living which is worse than the home that I live in in Durban. There is a cleaning service once a week and all they do is mop and replace towels. We had to make our own bed everday, even the day that the cleaning service was around. The cleaning service did not wash the dishes on the day they came or wipe the counters. There is a tiny dustbin as a kitchen bin that fits about 3 boxes on biscuits in it and then becomes full and we were not made aware of an outside bin where we could empty the tiny dustbin that was in the kitchen. That being said, the reason that I rate it terrible is due to the service. we were not properly checked in and on check out, they discovered that we were not checked in. On our arrival back to South Africa, we received a bill of 150 euro and were informed that our deposit was not going to be refunded due to the state of the apartment. All that was not done by us was that we did not wash dishes the night before we left assuming that the cleaning service should at least do the dishes once since I spent the holiday slogging behind the sink. We were also charged for leaving extra food in the refrigerator that we could not take with us on our flight back to South Africa. The worst part is that I myself slept on a bed which they took a photograph of as a stained mattress and accused me of causing the large stain. May I mention there was no stain on the mattress cover but beneath that there was a huge stain. I am an adult professional and did not stain the mattress and if it were me then why would I have removed the mattress cover and bed sheet to do this. I was on the contrary disgusted that I had spent 5 nights sleeping on this filthy stained mattress unknowingly. I have sent 3 emails to the resort manager and her colleagues with my complaints and have not had one reply. I have stayed in an RCI resort in Spain in 2010 and it was such a pleasant stay. I wasted an entire 5 nights of my holidays in this terrible place. I will never go back and advise anyone to look for other accommodation.

We absolutely enjoyed this resort location on the coast of Spain. We stayed for 7 days during the Christmas holiday of 2012 using RCI points.

What we liked;
- Small town to walk, window shop and eat&drink
- Great Spanish food and nice bars... lots of different types of restaurants as well
- Easy access to Alicante, Benidorm, Guadalest (all via rental car)
- Room was fabulous (spacious, internet access, great view from roof, wonderful patio with view)
- Driving in Spain was fairly easy with well marked roads (Right hand side... like USA) and you definitely require a GPS (ex. google maps on iPhone)
- Beautiful park on the coast right next to the resort (few miles of walking trails)

Challenges:
- If you don't have a rental car, you will have difficulty visiting all the nearby sites (we chatted with some stranded visitors... you can't see as much, but OK if you are looking to hang out)
- Taxi's can be expensive and the train station is not close

Resort is set on a hill and is a distance of about a mile from the shopping area which has stores, supermarkets and many eating places with a range of dietary choices. Taxis are available and can be summoned by the front desk. Taxis are also available from the shopping area back to the hotel. We mostly walked and were happy for the exercise. We were able to book tours at the front desk and got to do some interesting sightseeing. There was quite a bit to do and see in the area and beaches were nearby the downtown area. The unit was equipped with a partial kitchen with a hotplate. Our unit was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the sea and towns below. The bathroom was tight but tolerable. Some nights we could see fireworks over the town. The staff at the front desk were very accomodating, helpful and friendly. We would stay at this resort again.

We too used RCI points for this getaway. Away from the hustle and bustle. But a very short drive or walk downhill to the beachfront and all the restaurants and shops. We found the resort to be clean and quiet, with lovely views towards the ocean and distant mountains. The staff at reception were very helful and assisted us with booking various tours (which we loved!! We highly recommend the tours done by Local Tours). Our unit was double storey, with the two bedrooms upstairs and kitchen and lounge downstairs with a large patio. It is serviced on Tuesdays and Thursday only, and they only do a very basic cleanup (no washing up of dishes etc). The restaurant there is reasonably priced and the food served is adequate. We would stay there again.

Yes, they do have units that do not require climbing stairs to get to but do have stairs inside and there are a lot of steps all over the resort, it is not flat.

Hello David No on both counts, I'm afraid. The town and beach are only a 10 minute walk away, but you have to go down (and, perhaps more importantly, come back up) a pretty steep hill to get there. The only facilities on site are the bar, which also serves a smallish menu of food during the day, the pool and the gym. If you're not inclined to walk, a hire car would be recommended. There's plenty of parking space in the street outside the resort and in the town. Hope this helps Paul Kendall
