Due to the architecture of the building, it can get very noisy by night.
Decent and clean room.
Breakfast was all what you need and quite diversified.
Nice and helpful staff.
In term of location it is just a few minutes to bars restaurants and the beach.

We used the Roer Palace as a 3 night stop over on a journey from the UK to Spain. We knew the hotel as we had stayed there a few years ago and had an extended holiday in the same area last year. The rooms are a good size clean and have a very roomy, modern bathroom. Our room had a balcony with views of the mountains. However, not all rooms have balconies or the mountain views. Our only criticism of the room was that we found the bed too firm for our liking. Normally, there is free WiFi in your room but there was a network connection problem when we arrived that couldn't be fixed by the service provider until Monday, the day before we left. However, when it was fixed it was a very fast and trouble free connection.
We had opted for full board as the internet offer we had was cheaper than b&b. Our expectations of the restaurant weren't great as we had read previous negative reviews on TripAdvisor about the quality of the food. As we knew the area this wasn't a problem as we knew some great restaurants.... WRONG!! The food was excellent! Breakfasts are traditional fare of bacon, eggs, sausages, etc. plus a good selection of cold meats and cheeses. Lunch and dinner consist of a good selection of starters - soup, salads, cold meats and more. The hot dishes we tried were, for example, paellas, fresh tuna steaks, other fresh fish dishes, chicken, pork and beef dishes. The side dishes were the usual range of fried potatoes, vegetables - broccoli and fresh spinach were some. There is also a selection of pasta and sauces. All meals have fresh bread if you wish and deserts were a little limited but usually had a quality cheesecake or pudding plus fruits and yogurts. All the cooked food used good quality, fresh ingredients. Drinks in the restaurant were reasonably priced with a bottle of house wine starting from €7.
Overall a good value for money stay and with the quality of food being a bonus and we opted to stay in the hotel to eat rather that going out as we had originally planned.

Just returned from 4 days at this hotel as a solo traveller - visiting family in Albir. On arrival was greated by an english reception man called Jamie which was nice. I must have looked English as I tried practicing my limited Spanish on him, and he answered very politely in English! Lovely clean room, various food (stayed half board). Great pool area, and beautiful terrace on top of the hotel. All the staff were lovely. Don't expect english tv channels in your room as you don't get them, it seemed it was quite orientated to the Spanish, but I like that :). Rooms do not have balconies. There were english families staying at the hotel. We go back as a family later in the year. Only a few minutes walk from Albir front. Great value for money.

On the website it informs you that check in is in between 12 and 4. We arrived at 1.30 and told the room wasn’t ready and could we return in half an hour. We returned after 40 mins and the room still wasn’t ready!! We were then given a room but the cushions on the bed smelled absolutely awful. There were hairs in the bed and a hole in the bedsheet although the sheets appeared clean. In the bathroom there was no shower mat so we had to use a hand towel on the floor as it was dangerously wet from the shower spray. There were hairs on the bidet and there was a dead mosquito in the middle of the bathroom mirror. We are actually staying here tonight but never again.!!

The Tv was 13" and the remote wasent working properly. Also the minibar was removed, which was a big disappointment.
The food was ok and ordinary. A bit boring.
The hallway floor was made of some kind of stone, and made alot of noise when walking on it. A bit disturbing at night when other guests are walking outside the doorway
This hotel is cheap, and that seems to be the only reason for booking it.

My wife and I stayed with friends from 3rd to 6th July. As we booked early we had an excellent rate for half board (€67 per room per night). The hotel is in a quiet suburb between Benidorm and Altea so far from the madding crowds (which we appreciated). The room was spotless, breakfast buffet plentiful and varied (bacon needed a bit more cooking!), evening buffet generally very good with limited but adequate choice. Very nice landscaped pool and garden area with pleasant bar and patio. All the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke adequate English.. (I sometimes wonder how reviewers who gripe about poor service treat the staff ...). You can park in a closed car-park for €6 per night but we parked in the street with no problem. There was free wifi in the foyer with good reception. Of course there are better hotels (with prices to match) - and far worse. Negative point? The silly sachets of shower gel & shampoo in the bathrooms. I don't expect expensive products at this price level but a refillable dispenser for the washbasin & in the shower would be fine. We had a very pleasant stay and considered the hotel excellent value for money. We would happily return.
For me best thing about our stay was...
Excellent quality/price ratio and friendly staff. The woman on reception helped us with our limited Spanish by speaking slowly and clearly (rare in Spain!) and in English when necessary!

My girlfriend and I stayed here recently and i must say it was really good. The hotel itself is nice for the price, the food at breakfast was fairly standard everyday. where as dinner varied night to night. The pool is clean and rarely over crowded. It is a very Spanish populated hotel. And the town of albir is much the same (although there are enough English speaking places if you struggle with the language). Also benidorm is not far and the buses are very easy to get used to if you use them. My only complaints about this hotel are that we failed to get a double bed even though we asked a lot. And one receptionist refused to call our transfers for us as she said she didn't have to. But i would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good 3Star Hotel, only small but very clean and friendly..Very Spanish oriantated,we were the only English staying. Food acceptable, we stayed full board, but we were saved by the salads, which were very fresh daily. Great location though, lovely small resort, but if you wanted Benidorm the buses every 15mins. Not a good hotel for children in my opinion not much for them on site.

We stayed at the Rober Palas last year at Easter and we are back to stay again this year. Staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

We were part of a group on cricket tour so there were about 20 of us all together and we spent quite some time in the bar on an evening where the staff were a pleasure.

There is a basic gym and the pool looked very nice although it was too cold to go in last year.

Its was a 10 minute walk to the cricket ground and about the same distance to the beach where there are lovely cafes and bas to pass the time.

There is also a supermarket on the corner not too far away should you want to get some extra supplies.

The food was buffet style ans there was always something that was different and very tasty. They also had a microwave that guests could use which is remarkably handy.

I'd say that we would definitely stay again and indeed we are - see you on Wednesday!
