Me and my girlfriend organised a safari trip by ourselves because we were on a low budget and enjoyed our stay at jambo rooms! We stayed here for 3 nights the staff with Emanuel and matias were very helpful in organizing a day trip to ngorongoro crater and even joined us for a hiking trip on one day! In the evening they took us out on a tipical tanzanian Restaurant with good food! We would recommend this place if you try to organize a cheap „base camp“ for safari activities in the northern circuit of Tanzania!

A basic hotel with clean rooms and a hot shower at a reasonable price. Breakfast was filling. Room was secure, and hosts were friendly and helpful. We had to use Google maps and our GPS to find the place because it is not on the main road (We arrived in the dark, and our Swahili is very limited so we could not ask the locals for directions.)

I loved my stay at Jambo Rooms! The accommodations were pleasant and very cheap but the owners Kabalo & Lara were what really set Jambo apart. They were incredibly nice and helpful in arranging safaris and helping me get around Karatu. I would definitely recommend Jambo if you're looking for a cheap night in Karatu!

After nights of some luxury elsewhere in Tanzania we needed an economy night or tow and the Jambo rooms fit the bill. Kabalo came out to find us as we had a lot of difficulty in locating the hotel. Top tip follow the signs to the Leopard Hotel and ask from there. is is about 100m away but tricky to find. Rooms are functional. Hosts are lovely and you sit in the communal sitting room to chat and access the free internet. Stonking breakfast

The stay at Jambo Rooms was first of all great due to the great owners, the Icelandic-Tanzanian couple. They were very helpful to arrange tours and transport. Also, the rooms were simple, but at a really good price. A great start for safaries as Karatu lies very close to Ngorogoro.
