We stayed here for 2 nights in July; a family group of 6, we occupied a dorm, and the cost was very reasonable. Inkosana Lodge is a very special and unique place. The surroundings are stunning, the gardens have many beautiful trees and plants. There is a lovely lounge, which is a relaxing place with lots of books and lovely...

The lodge is perfect for backpackers and mountaineers, but also for people who just want to enjoy the mountain setting. There are rooms with bunk beds and communal ablutions and kitchen as well as rondavels with comfortable beds, with en suite or communal ablutions and a communal kitchen. Ed is an experienced mountaineer who knows the area well and can...

Fresh salads, hearty soups, lovely desserts and bread all lovingly home-made: dinner here is a must. For those who have been in remote areas for a while, the fresh food will make you feel like you're back at home. If you do want to cook, the washing up is done for you! How good is that for breakfast on the...

This lodge is affordable, welcoming and in a perfect situation for people that love the mountains or who wish to explore the history of the region. Try to get a rondavale without the en-suite you can then enjoy the hot shower under the stars in the communal block.

We would like to congratulate the owner, Ed for always being so efficient, dedicated and hard working! He cooks such wonderful food all prepared from his garden, which is a wonder all on its own! His place is always neat and tidy and he has maintained a high standard all these years! (this is not our first visit!). He is...

Had a great stay. The owner (I forget his name) was great at explaining walks to do, the food was amazing for both lunch and dinner, the atmosphere with other travellers was sociable yet not intrusive, the views were amazing and we really enjoyed watching the shooting stars (my partner's first) by the pool one night-not something we get to...

One of the best backpacker places we have been. It was very clean, nice owner, free use of a superbe and well-equiped kitchen. The spot is amazingly located with a view on the Drakensberg mountains. We recommend the place!

A beautiful, relaxing backpackers and lodge in a quite mountain setting. We arrived after staying in the Northern Berg and found Inkosana to be just the spot to put down the bags. Inkosana has a variety of rooms including dorms, family rooms (double bed, 2 bunk beds) and private rondovals for couples (I think). The facilities are REALLY CLEAN and...

I stayed at the Inkosana Lodge for 3 nights. As a backpacker, the only downside to staying there is that you really need to have your own transport to get there and to get to nearby hikes. Other than that, it is a fantastic place! It feels a lot more homely than some other backpacker accommodation. The kitchens are well...
