Good meal with family at Bougnate. Service polite but lacking professionally, kids order lost, we had to chase, and boss should smile a little more. Food decent quality, typical French brasserie, decent quality ingredients, but nothing special.

Small very cosy hotel in a lovely village. The hotel is an old house but will all comfort, very well decorated, cute and cosy with big fireplaces, excellent food (one of the best cod ever, sublime desert!, excellent wine selection and Verveine Liquor) and very cosy rooms. Breakfast is compulsory with an amazing selection of jams. The chef owner and...

A great location, very welcoming with a lovely log burning fire in reception, comfortable, spacious rooms and excellent cuisine. Not huge portions, but if you had all three courses it was more than enough. Breakfast was fresh croissants and delicious bread, home made jams and yogurt - all great.

We stayed one night in this hotel on a Sunday evening. Our room was in the annexe across the road from the main building but was modern and well equipped. We were challenged in arriving at the hotel as the village was very busy with a fair but a phone call to the hotel got assistance. The menu is a...

We went there for a family wedding in the region and were delighted with our stay... We were made to feel very welcome and always special. The room are beautifully re-done, modern and confortable, yet maintaining their provincial charm. The breakfast was copious and stacked with perfect regional products (as were all meals we took there really). The staff is...

My Father treated us to meal a meal in this lovely restaurant. The service and food were faultless. The most delicious local produce and the best steak I have ever eaten. Wonderful. Wonderful. We shall definitely return one day.

The environment, the village where the hotel is situated is incredible! You are transported back to the middle ages as you walk it's streets. Terrific atmosphere. The hotel rooms are excellent, the service is friendly, the restaurant, if you are a pescatarian, that is a fish eating vegitarian, is poor. I had listed 2 special requests when booking online: 1....

We chose a sunny day in order that we could sit outside and enjoy the sunshine in this gem of a town in the Auvergne. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, and also tasted wonderful - we were not disappointed. We chose a 2010 Pouilly Fume wine which was reasonably-priced but of superb quality. Not the cheapest meal we have...

In May my wife and I visited our son and his family who live near Barcelona and needed a night stop in central France on our route to Spain. I found La Bougnate in a Michelin Guide to reasonably priced hotels and B&Bs in France and booked over the internet. Blesle is a few miles off the A75 Autoroute south...
