Lake n River Resort is a resort project by SKB at the lake-river confluence in Munroe Island. SKB group of Business first ventured into the homestay business at Munroe Island in 2010 having had good guest responses and reviews, the Lake n River Resort project was launched. Resort is located at the banks of the Ashtamudi Lake and the Kallada River, spread across 1.8 acres of land at Munroe Island, with water bodies surrounding three sides of the Resort like a peninsula. Eastern side of the Resort faces the river and the Southern and Western side’s face the lake. Accommodation is designed so as to provide the guests with the relaxing backwater experience of Munroe Island. The resort has 9 rooms for stay, a mini conference hall, a kitchen, a large dining area, an open terrace restaurant and a welcome area. Guests can enjoy boating, canoe trips and all types of lake and river activities at Lake n River Resort. Come and live the Munroe Island backwater experience.

Hotel's Favourite
Fantastic location on the edge of Kallada river and Lake Ashtamudi facing the huge expanse of water right from the lawns and resort balcony. Rooms are basic but Munroe is really untouched, unexplored so it's among the best places there. Canoeing in the river and canals and Shikara ride truly memorable experience. Food and service were very good, especially Divya and Raji took good care of us. Overall a good couple of days spent with nature.

We had taken the day package ( 11:00 am to 7:00 pm ) . The trip was great with the highlight being the canoe trip through mangroves and to the vast and beautiful Ashtamudi lake in the evening. It is a great location with the lake covering two sides of the property ans is accessibleby road. It is well maintained with lot of trees providing the shades but the weather can be hot and humid during summer, so looks like the best time to visit may be towards later part of the year. Staff is very friendly and food is above average. Indoor games and food have scope for improvement. The pool table wasn't in a good shape, may be a Table tennis or foos table will be a good addition. More variety in food and beverage options will be great , along with more desert options. Management mentioned that they were planning to construct a dormitory for brief rest for the day visitors , which is a good idea and will be a relief during summer.

Our stay was excellent. Amazing food, great ambience, clean and friendly staff. They were very accommodating with timings, food specially because we were with a 4 year old child.

Worst experience on my stay in Lake N River resort with my family(2 adults and 2 kids) Anyone planning for quality/nice food during your stay on this resort, pls totally avoid this resort, bcoz the food on this resort is horrible. They provide only previous day food. In my experience i usually adjust the food on any trip, but this resort food is horrible(cant even eat veg food). 1 fine example they will charge you even for pickle(INR 30)/Pappad(INR 50)/Curd(50)/Rasam(INR 125). They mention its buffet, but they wont provide buffet and they ask for you to select even if its included on your plan. In short, check out the below points.
1) No buffet if you visit on weekdays and very less option for food menu.
2) If you book for n number of days, they will not clean your room until you check out after 1st day. Usually on daily basis room clean should happen, and they charge water bottles for more than 1 day,
3)Front end room was stinks always.
4) Even your room also stinks in next day as they are not cleaning on daily basis.
Finally attaching the food bill copy herewith. Just understand their money minded mentality. Seems its a trap. Think twice(even more than thrice to visit this resort on weekends).

Excellent location and nice view from our room
The personal is very kind always smiling
Room is clean and adequately equipped with AC and fan
But no WiFi and no hot water in the room despite it is pretended to be offered.
Service at restaurant is poor and so slow
Breakfast is very disappointing : e g no fresh fruits in this region where fruits grow everywhere!
Don't book a canoe trip in theishotel (very bad in comparison to what is offered in the vicinity. Trips from hotel do not offer any insight in the local life since limited to lake and mangroves no incursion i n the small canals much more interesting.

We recently visited as a group of 19 members for a farewell party, and it was a great experience. The lake and river view was beautiful, and we enjoyed a lot. The hosts were very welcoming and managed everything wonderfully. We had a great time with the boating and kayaking.
The ambience was very calm, and the property was well maintained with a spacious banquet hall. They provided music, microphones, and well-arranged chairs, which made the event even more comfortable. Everything was well-organized, although we expected a bit more variety and quality in the food.
Apart from that, everything was very fine, and the staff was extremely helpful. I especially want to mention Manager Himani Madam — thank you so much for making our experience so smooth and enjoyable. It was truly a memorable time with all of you.

We did a day trip from varkala to Munroe island to get an experience of the famous Kerela backwaters. Our trip was planned at the last moment but Lake n River resort arranged for it perfectly. We took their day discover plan which was reasonable priced and included lunch, kayaking and 2-hour canoe ride which covers the backwaters and the confluence of ashtamudi lake with the river. The place is serene, the food is delicious and the staff is very helpful and courteous. The service was really good and we couldn't have asked for more. Would definitely recommend visiting this place. The boat ride is an absolute must!

It is just to pricy for what the hotel is offering. I recommend staying at a homestay instead in this area.
For exemplet they have a pool but no sunbeds or even chairs so you cannot really enjoy the pool.
The breakfast and restaurant is mediocre at is best.
The wifi is bad.

We - a group of five family members - came to stay at Lake n River resort, Munroe island. Both the island as well as the resort were completely unknown to us. We came without any expectation, but returned delighted with the experience we got here. The resort is so remotely and beautifully set up right on the lake. The rooms were very clean. The service by each and every staff member was courteous and friendly. The food items prepared by the chefs, Prakash Joshi and Johnson were wonderful - a lunch, dinner and the breakfast next morning - they took care to prepare the dishes specially well for each customer. The two boys - Josel and Vishnu took our menu orders and were wonderful! We were overall very impressed with the service provided by these people. We would certainly try visiting the place again.

Had stayed here with my friends for a small birthday celebration, very cooperative and friendly staffs who arranged everything for us so perfectly and well that we could spend there enjoying everything. Had good experience canoeing, kayaking, fooding and relaxing. Do visit and check out this place!

They can't supply or sell alcohol in Kerala. It's illegal. I'm sure you could drink in your room if you buy before you land in Kerala. Hope this helps. It is a beautiful place to stay
Wow 34th May ?? Guess you wanted to say 24th May. Better stay somewhere else, the place is good. But food was bad, it will ruin the entire trip. For me when visiting a new place eating good local food is very important.
Hi there. Sorry for late reply! I went there by train from Fort Kochi and the resort collected me from the station. There is good access by road too - it's called an Island but is well-connected by road and rail. Hope that's helpful for you.

03.55 - passenger train , it will reach munroe by 5.20
06.00 - Intercity express, it will reach munroe by 06.50
