We recently visited the Blacksmiths Arms Cloughton as a party of 10 for a family reunion meal, We ordered our drinks at the bar before being seated in the restaurant so we did not have to put in a drinks order, I am pleased we got our drinks at the bar because after being seated for quite some time we...

We are visiting Scarborough on holiday and this pub had been recommended so we expected a really nice meal. I ordered the 10 oz rump steak, medium, nice and pink but not bloody. The steak that arrived was thin and very very overdone. I should have sent it back but as we had already been waiting quite some time it...

Hi thanks for your review in accordance to the order which came through to the kitchen it stated medium no blood which was a different request but was followed through. As you say the meal was fully eaten before any knowledge of this was presented to the kitchen. It was a busy service, food is cooked fresh so does require...

My husband & I visited here as we wanted a day in nearby Scarborough. We found this country pub charming from the moment we arrived. The decor was traditional with brass ornaments surrounding the open fires which gave it a warm & welcoming feel. The comfortable room was big enough for an overnight stay and very clean. Our evening meal...

We booked a table in the back bar for our silver wedding anniversary meal. The bar staff did not smile, and hardly made eye contact. Our starters were ok, through my pate tasted like supermarket pate. My husband and I had streak, ordered rare, it arrived well done so we returned it, the waiting staff fell over them selves to...

We called in to the blacksmith on our way back from Whitby just for a drink , we were so impressed we booked a table for the next night as we had eaten earlier in Whitby . The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food was good , not a vast menu so if you are picky it...

I popped in with friends to have a light lunch but the menu looked quite pricey so we opted for soup and French bread. We waited quite a while and though the soup was homemade it was rather bland ( cream of vegetable) and the bread a little stale and dry - all for £4.95 a portion. Disappointing!

The food is consistently good and we enjoy the ambience of this village pub. The staff are polite and friendly and the food is served with a smile. The menu is not overly extensive but has all the dishes you would expect with a good wine list. There are specials and steak nights. We like to eat in the lounge...

I struggle to find fault in this traditional pub. My wife and I stayed a Saturday night, the room was clean and comfortable. We ate an evening meal in the bar, great atmosphere and excellent food at a great value. Quite possibly the best chips I have ever had, seriously. Also had the complementary full English and was very satisfied....
