I am going to first start by saying the location is absolutely amazing and the pre erected tents are good set in an olive grove which is over the road from a super, safe swimming beach. The problem was the noise. While we were there there was an anti nazi/fascist group holding a conference there which meant it was very busy. They then had music playing every night until 3/4am which meant sleep was absolutely impossible. On Saturday night there was a wedding next door and the nightclub along the bay was open until 7am so there were 3 competing sets of loud music!!!When I asked Stephanie how long the loud music would go on, she barked at me ‘June, July, September, that’s when you should come, shrugged her shoulders and walked away from me. I was left speechless. Some other people on the campsite had also tried asking about the noise and she was very rude to them. The facilities are very, very basic which is fine as I am a camper and expected that but one day someone had defecated on the toilet stall wall and it was all over the handle and the next day it was still there so cleaning is very minimal. For our last night we moved to the nearby Galaxy Hotel which others from the campsite had also done to get some sleep. The staff there could not be more friendly. Without the conference I think it would have been good but check no big rallies are taking place when you book. Food was good but better at Albie’s Taverna on the front next door.…
This is a well organised nicely spaced out shaded camp site with a modern shower/toilet block, the option of rooms/huts with proper beds as well as tents to rent ,it has a decent restaurant and a good beach, rock and sand but good for swimming. However, no shade available and no sun beds to rent. (Take an umbrella?) BUT…..also be aware there is no public transport, whatever you might read, it is 4 kilometres to the bus station and centre of town which is a level walk but hard in the heat. Only way around is to have wheels of some kind or rent expensive taxis. This is a difficult campsite for backpackers on foot.
Best camping in whole of Kefalonia! Owners were super friendly and helpful. Beautiful location. Close to small beach. Bar on site. Facilities very clean. Camping lots are surrounded by trees. 5 mins away from town! Fantastic place! Highly recommended!
We are a family of five who rented two tents and a private shower for four nights - it was amazing ! The tents are spacious with a fridge and electricity and very comfortable mattress and pillows - the restaurant is excellent with a nice beach and a few restaurants within walking distance - Stephanie was so accommodating , giving me a pot to boil water for coffee in the morning - not that we needed it because the restaurant has the best Americanos ever ! We loved it and will be back !
stayed a hotel round the corner . this is a great place for tipple walking round. staff are great , never actually camped . very welcoming . campers are friendly and have good advice on getting round the island and seeing different places
Camping Argostoli is the best place to permanently site your caravan. It is reasonably priced and has full amenities for touring caravans and campers and tents with a beach just 100 metres across the road and a slip way for launching your small water craft. The restaurant onsite has a great selection of food and the staff are friendly and approachable. I liked the place so much a purchased a static caravan on the site. First class place with first class staff.
We stayed here for a short while. After an angry taxi driver dropped us of, the staff came and helped our family (2 toddlers and adults). They gave us excellent service during our stay. Very friendly staff and amiable guests. Beaches nearby are small but easily accessible for young children ans safe. Thank you!
This is not a place to rest. They played loud music until late at night. We had to leave early for a day trip on a vessel and we were hoping to sleep. No one at the reception knew when the music would have finished.
This campsite is rough around the edges, set on a large plot full of olive trees with plenty of shade. The owners are friendly and helpful and there’s a lovely beach on your doorstep. The lighthouse is a 5 minute walk as is the old windmill. A stroll down to Argostoli along the tree lined coastal road takes roughly 30-40minutes. It’s a true Greek experience
I have a caravan all year round but only at the site for the summer season. Lefteris and Stephania the owners are very welcoming. The food is actually really nice and really cheap. I would recommend to give it a try!
