A riverside retreat with an amazing view, delicious food, courteous staff and spacious rooms with all amenities. We had a blast of a time in the river with children. Also lucky to see a herd of elephants just across the river.
The resort is ideally located, far enough from the city but easily accessible (less than 2 hours drive from Kochi city and airport with good roads), and really close to the nature. It is on a riverside with an incredible view of mother nature (the river is safe enough to venture with kids too).
The rooms are very spacious and the washrooms are particularly worth mentioning for their design. The tree house may make it an adventurous stay for some.
We had an excellent and truly memorable trip, after a long time, forgetting all the troubles outside for the time being. Highly recommended for an experience of its kind. 5 stars all the way....!!!!

Its a home away from home - a magical piece of paradise in the middle of nature. We spend 5 days in Munkudil and we loved every minutes of it! The atmosphere is so calm and quiet, the homemade South Indian food is delicious, feels like medicine for the body and soul. The hospitality and services provided by the staff were excellent, they attended us well at all times and we were impressed by their kindness and courtesy. Their passion about their profession is really heartwarming and impressive. We stayed in the bamboo room, with the best bathroom in the world, that made us feel very close to the nature. The room was beautiful, comfortable, very clean, and had an amazing view to the Idamalayar River. We could enjoy the beautiful garden, the swimming pool, the terraces with amazing views, and we had access to the river, where we spend a lot of time enjoying the crystal clear water and the incredible views to the riverside, watching the wildlife, we even saw elephants on the other side of the river! We had the opportunity to take yoga classes with a master who is not only a master of his craft but touches peoples hearts with his wisdom, humour and generosity and made us and our heart smile all day long. We even got recommendations on what to visit in the region, and went to a short trip to visit a temple nearby. We are very grateful for all the attention we got here and for this unforgettable experience! We would be really happy to return one day!

We found this place on google maps by searching on this certain area. From the contact person we got a very fast response with all required information and photos.
After a warm welcome at arrival we felt an exceptional caring and lovely attitude during our whole stay. The whole house and garden is full of art and daily reminders of how our life and nature is.We spent our days at the bamboo hut which was clean and cosy with an amazing view of the river. The open-air bathroom is the best place to take a shower in the middle of the jungle!
Listening to the sound of the birds and soaking in the surrounding vibes of nature is already a wonderful treatment for the soul. In the morning and in the afternoon animals are coming to the opposite side of the river, we even saw elephants!
In addition we had the chance to take yoga classes instructed by a precious master with great experience and spirit. Thank to him, we started each day by cultivating inner peace and love within us. This experience made our time even more special and made us even more grounded and rejuvenated.
All the meals freshly served - breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks & tea, dinner- were super tasty high quality food and offered in great variosity. At Munkudil everyone is extremely kind, helpful and the hospitality is outstanding.
We are so grateful for every minute spent in this particular home away from home. It will always be a heartwarming memory!

My self and my partner stayed here recently for 4 nights and what an amazing find this place was. After being recommended by a friend we was not disappointed! This little place is just so perfect, the attention to detail is everything and nothing is too much. The staff, yoga, DR, Ayurvedic treatments are just the best. They are just like family, I can not thank them enough for our stay and for their help. The resort is just so cute and natural, the views out back are just so surreal and tranquil. The retreat center situated on a river bank in pristine nature is an extraordinary place. The views are wonderful and I spent many hours on my room balcony simply soaking in the surrounding beauty. The staff, Reggie, Salesh and Sri Lakshmi were kind and attentive and I felt nurtured by their care. The food was absolutely delicious and accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable. I hope to come back someday.

Munkudil is situated in an amazing location, the rooms are exceptionally decorated, clean and have beautiful views. During three weeks, I experienced the authenticity of Ayurveda under the supervision of the best therapists and a dedicated yoga instructor. The food at Munkudil is delicious and the service is very attentive. Munkudil is the perfect place to connect with nature and spend creative, peaceful moments. We chanced upon Munkudil a couple of months back online and instantly fell in love with the river that flows nearby. We called up, asked for a few more pics of the place and booked for a week's holiday with family. I enjoyed the peaceful life and Kerala food the most at Munkudil.
We both were pampered by the staff. The best part was the Ayurvedic massage we got by the balcony. They arranged it especially for us so that we could enjoy the flowing river's murmur, the birds' chatter, and the fresh breeze. Food was awesome. We even saw a herd of elephants and deers dinking water beside the river on the other side.

This place exceeded my expectations. Me and my friend were planning to stay only for a few days but eventually stayed way longer because we felt so at peace and the staff felt like family. The food is ridiculously good, the treatments are great, the view is breathtaking and I learned a lot from the ayurvedic doctor/yoga teacher. I can’t recommend it enough. 🧡

I stayed at the Munkudil retreat for 3 nights in December 2019. Arrived to a lovely welcome of marigold garland and fresh pineapple juice. First impressions are of somewhere small, secluded and very pretty. Rooms are beautiful and individual, good size and with large balconies that look out over a tranquil river. I spent most of my time gazing out across the river as the view changes with the light, listening to the endless sound of birds all around. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. I didn't use any of the Ayurvedic facilities as I had just come from a 10 day Ayurvedic retreat, so this was my period of consolidation and rest. You have to see Munkudil to appreciate its tranqility, I recommend it wholeheartedly.
