Perfect stay! The staff was very friendly and welcoming and seemed to genuinely care. This added to the relaxed surroundings and lovely tents, which made our Kerala visit extra special. Thank you, Hornbill Camp & Suresh!
One of the best eco resorts in India.Situated next to the periyar river, downstream to idukki dam, this is a beautiful place.Plantation walks, kayaking and bird watching tours, all are amazing.Bird watching tours with naturalist praveen is a must do activity. We loved it.
My wife and I stayed here for one night, much too short a stay. We loved the tent accommodation; it was easy to hear owls calling in the evening and the dawn chorus of bird song. The food was very good, authentic Indian. Service was very attentive and friendly, and the staff are knowledgeable about local natural history.
My family snd I stayed at this beautiful peaceful place during our Kerala tour. The staff are very attentive, accommodation fun and suitably rustic though beautifully clean and comfortable. The food was excellent too. We borrowed cycles to tour the vicinity, did a tour of the rubber plantation plus other spices locally grown and visited the bird sanctuary across the river at dawn. A really lovely stay, thank you!
Serene atmosphere by the riverside. Best of both worlds - away from hustle bustle of development; yet good accommodation, tasty local food and excellent hospitality. If you are into offbeat locations in a natural atmosphere, can't get better than this. We experienced the rains too - Amazing experience.
An excellent stay which was coupled with a stupendous staff. A must visit and will definitely be back again. The accommodation and the outdoor activities were far beyond our imagination. I wish that we had a longer stay instead of the short duration.
What a lovely place! My husband and I were on a holiday to relax and get close to nature and that is exactly what we got here. The camp is right on the edge of the Periyar river with the bird sanctuary on the other side of it. The tent was lovely and comfortable with attached toilets (with hot water) and even A/C. The food was great and the staff, amazing. We were there for two nights in the off season so our expectations were managed to a minimum but we had a lovely time on our bird watching tour with Praveen. He's got mad skills! There were so many birds in and around the camp as well, including the eponymous Grey Hornbill. I have heard amazing things about kayaking there but it rained that afternoon and truth be told, we were so comfortable in our tent, we got a little lazy.…
If you want to experience the most beautiful sunsets, you're at the right place. The hornbill camp is the perfect getaway from the city life. You'll spot beautiful birds here, and the fresh air and lush green views will be the perfect stress relief. Do visit with family and friends.
Excellent settings for those who like nature life. The camp life is serene and good to calm ones mind and body. The activities like kayaking, trekking are excellent. Those who love to explore the place around has the Thattekkad bird sanctuary, Inchathotty hanging bridge, Bootethankettu dam and the forest, Ayyappan mudi rock and Oonchapara acquaduct etc not far off from the camp. Camp staff is friendly and very caring.
Had an excellent experience with the activities like Kayak, cycling through reserve forest, nature walks through plantation and bird watching. It was a bit hot, but then this was to do with the time of the year. Staff is excellent and provide good service. Would recommend if interested in wild nature and outdoor activities
