We were attending a tournament at The Ocean Center, and I booked this hotel based on the reviews and the proximity to the tournament. The hotel is in great condition. There is no access to the beach or the pool due to the damage caused by the hurricane, but it was not an issue for us. HOWEVER, we were very disappointed when we entered our room (# 809) and it smelled very bad. You can felt the humidity everywhere (blankets, carpet), even my hair felt it. It was around 12:00 am and we were very tired when we checked in so we decided to stay in the room anyway and let the front desk about the problem the next morning. What a great mistake! Sadly, the next day the manager indicated to me that there was no room available, and the only solution was to install a humidifier in the room. It helped a little bit with the humidity but forget about the smell. It was very nasty, and we had to deal with it for 2 whole nights.…
This hotel is great. It's right on the beach and we had a nice oceanfront room with a good view of the beach. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast every morning was something different and very god. It's close to great restaurants.
Rooms very clean, plenty of parking, good complimentary breakfast but request a room AWAY from the elevator - everytime someone used elevator our room roared! Will never stay close to the elevator again!!
Confirmed with Casey that pool and hot tub were functional but was closed when arrived. No credit for this missing amenity!!!. Would have stayed elsewhere if properly informed... Too bad because that would have greatly changed overall outlook.
We had our reservations randomly cancelled two different times and spent HOURS (almost three!) on the phone with corporate just to even get the reservation switched to this location last minute as we were coming into town for a wedding because they cancelled our other reservations with no warning. Corporate told us to call the morning of and get an early check-in approved because we were initially coming into town the night before but that was apparently no longer an option. Well the phones were down for the this location the entire day so we couldn't secure our early check-in. We were reduced to literally changing to get ready for the wedding in the middle of a gravel parking lot. Lastly, we were also told by corporate that they would do something about the pricing when we arrived because our original reservation that we made five months ago was for a $89 stay but when they rescheduled us last second it went up to $160. Well that was a complete lie as well. Hampton Inn & Suites are the only place I stay everywhere I go and have been for more than a decade. I've sold my wife on y'all too and now she won't stay anywhere else either. THIS RUINED YOUR BRAND COMPLETELY FOR US AND WE DO NOT EVER PLAN TO STAY WITH YOU AGAIN. Lies on top of lies on top of lies coupled with ineptitude has left us with an awful taste in our mouth that we have zero interest in ever experiencing again. Y'all literally ruined a very dear family member's wedding for us. Thanks for absolutely nothing. Oh and all y'all do is point fingers and blame it at the next person for the company rather than owning up and making up for the mistakes. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.…
My first day the a/c went out. Then the internet was poor in the room and kept cutting off. Then the phones went out at the check in desk. I complained and they told me to go to another hotel. The hotels were sold out. They wanted me to call their internet provider to complain because the phones were down. What? They are the ones that is in charge of the internet and not the guest! Manager gave me a hard time. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Book some other hotel. Lots of people were saying they had nothing but problems since they’ve been there. Avoid at all costs! I’ve been to many hotels and this was the worst of them over nearly 50 years!
This hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was so nice and friendly. Our visit was after Ian, and they were very accommodating. The breakfast was good and hot each day, parking was free, and fresh towels were brought to our room each day. We would definitely stay here again!
We just came back from Hampton Inn Daytona Beach Shores ( which we call it “Our 2 nd Hone “ ) . Our stay was from Sept. 19, 2022 through October 1, 2022 and we definitely agree with Sally Janowski that in our opinion this is the best place to come to for a vacation of rest , sun, beach, ocean ,pool and the best hotel staff that we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Sandy, John, Seth, Casey, Kelly along with others at the front desk, Que, Romario, Mohammed and the maintenance staff, the entire housekeeping , and entire kitchen staff all of them are top notch and have the best personalities and capabilities to serve their guests. We were there when IAN struck Daytona Shores . We were so very well taken care of from keeping us safe in the rooms, feeding us and keeping everything up beat when their concern also was clearly regarding the best not only for their guests, but for their employees and the hotel itself. We have been going to this hotel since 1975 (when it then was a Travel Lodge) and took our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren ever since. We actually feel like this is our 2 nd home and all those mentioned above are family . Looking forward to next years vacation there . Stay safe and also keep us up dated on your progress. Love - Herman (Les) or as we laughed the guy from “ The Holla “ 😂 and Suzanne Marcum…
We stopped for 19 nights in the suite on the 5th floor. Fabulous stay and very comfortable. We were welcomed back by the manager, Sandy Ellis, and introduced to new members of the staff. Things had changed a little as now there is a fitness centre but did not seem to be being used much. Also the business centre has been replaced by a mini shop. I suppose this is handy but personally the business centre was invaluable for checking in on flights and printing boarding passes. The suite is like 2 rooms together with 2 balconies. It has a full kitchen, with large fridge. Fantastic large shower room and a jacuzzi. Good to take advantage of the suite and treat ourselves after a 2 year absence. Wish we could stop there each visit.
Older hotel but great location and the service even better. Room was clean, view was great and Sandy the GM was wonderful (all staff we encountered were as well). She was overall just very friendly, accommodating, helpful and took pride in her hotel.
