W e arrived air window air unit didnt work got replaced blowing right on squeaky queen bed very uncomfortable electric 1966 stove useless, largescreen tv not working people who worked their friendly but lacked training had to ask for everything soap, towels clean room . People living there permenently not a great vacation atmosphere worst vacation stay ever 3000.00 dollars for two weeks place.
The Sand Castle is a small two story motel that looks like it has been around since the 50's or 60's. It is a clean and quiet little place. We had a great time there last weekend and plan to stay there again.
This hotel was clean and the staff was friendly as well as other repeat patrons, (so that shows they enjoyed their stay as well) The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but the room was nice and bright and met all of our needs. Even though the hotel was dated, it was clean. We appreciated not having carpet but rather a tile floor due to the sandy beach location. It made us think of the old Florida style vacations. The 2nd floor sun deck was very nice and had many places to sit and enjoy the ocean breeze. We had a very enjoyable stay at the beach. The price was also reasonable.
We arrived at 3pm and were told check in is not until 4 pm. We could wait by the pool, since it was cold out we left and returned at 4:15. At that time we were informed our room would not be ready until 5 PM. After traveling all day we were tired and asked for another room. They stated none were available, after speaking with the manager our room was ready by 4:45. It smelled so strongly of chemicals we couldn’t stay in it so we opened windows and left again for a couple hours. No apology was provided. They had a coffee maker in the room but provided no coffee? We have stayed in the past with no problems , possibly new management.
We stayed two nights in two different rooms. The first room was awful. The beds were uncomfortable, the TV remote didn’t work, coffee wasn’t available (bring your own filters and coffee to use their coffee maker). The second room was a bit better, but the refrigerator was warm so we had to put our waters and food in the freezer. There is construction underway so maybe the motel it will get better (construction noises started at 9am - be aware). I gave it 2 stars because the front desk person was nice and it’s in a good location near the pier.
I stayed here during the labor day weekend. Much to do on the beach or enjoy the view from my private balcony. The staff; Lexi, Michell, Alexis, Michael, Joseph, and Selena went above and beyond to accommodate my stay.
We stayed here on vacation after our old motel was sold and torn down. Wish we had stayed here all along. It is clean quiet and very reasonably priced for the quality of what you get. I was just amazed how nice it was and we will definitely be back again(already booked for next year). Staff is great and it’s so nice to be in nearly the same spot we were in at old motel. This is definitely the best vacation spot in Daytona Beach!
My wife and I absolutely love this place! The owners and management are so nice and honestly the vibe it gives us is “Our home, away from home!” We will definitely be staying every year at the same time from now on!
Wife and I stayed here 10 days this past August. Very nice and well kept pool. Rooms are perfect. had a small kitchen with full size fridge. Very friendly staff. Close to the pier and other attractions. Highly recommend.
Friendly little motel right on the beach. It looks like something you would see in a 50s movie. We were so pleased with the place that we stayed an extra day! The room had a tiny kitchen, but we were still able to cook a couple of nice meals. Friendly staff, close to shopping, and affordable. It's not a fancy place, but for us it was perfect. We're planning a return trip next year.
