Very good value but for those who want little more luxery is not the best! The room is very old and not renovated and there was stain on the bed. Despite all I was not disappointed for this price. Excellent place to stay one or two night.

ugh! well where to start with this one...First of all, if I decided to go with this hotel this time was because when I looked up the reviews about it - I think here through trip advisor - every one gave it pretty much a five star rating... I was blown away by that!... We planned a trip for New Years eve, and we were going to be in Atlantic City for Friday, December the 30th.... Last time I went to Atlantic City - about a year ago-, I stayed at Rodeway Inn, which is a hotel pretty much across from Relax Inn, but when I checked the availability for Rodeway Inn, it was almost full and it had went up on prices, too bad, I really enjoyed my stayed with them the last time. So I had no choice but to go with Relax Inn, again, due to its great location and the awesome reviews I saw online, PLUS, it was the cheapest motel! we only payed like $35.00!!! for one night!! I could not remember the last time I payed so little to stay in a motel. I didn't want to have to pay a lot of money to stay in the casinos on the board walk, since we were barely going to sleep at all, so yeah.
Anyway, we get there and check in at about 5 pm. and as every time I go to New Jersey, the person in the reception was some foreigner guy that you can barely understand! I hate that!, I think he was indian or something, and it is so frustrated not to be able to communicate with these people!
The place at a first sight looked real pretty from the out side while we were parking. The check in was a breeze, us being the only ones checking in...the receptionist tried to up sell us with some kind of upgrade to a "romantic suite" for 10 more bucks, he said it had jacuzzi and all these other things, but we were not interested, since as I mentioned we will only spend but a few hours to sleep and then we will be out of there.
Then the receptionist guy took us to our room -odd! we never have the receptionist people walking us to a room, but ok...- and then....WTF this Relax Inn place seems to be divided into two complexes...the pretty white one that you see in the pictures on line, and another crappy horrid one right across from it...well, that horrid one was the one where he had our room reserved! I later learned that the pretty one they advertise in the pictures on line is the the one with the "Romantic suites" which costs more money!!... I felt so cheated! I mean, I thought what you see on line is what you get, but NO! I guess 35.00 dollars was too good to be true!... It was so disappointing!...I was mad!.. this crappy complex that I am talking about consisted of something that seemed like some one's house who remodeled it and adapted part of this house for rent...it was the oddest thing we've seen, and we travel all year long to all parts of the USA and have never seen such thing!.
Our room, like I said, seem to be connected to a house, so it there were two rooms to rent; our room and a room next to ours, and the person staying in the room next to ours had a T.V. on and it was loud the whole time. I couldn't sleep very well cause of the loud noise of this person staying next to us, seem like the wall were paper thin!.
The experience in this place was just HORRIBLE!.
Yes, the place is cheap as dirt, no sings of bed bugs, and the location is prime 10 minutes to Atlantic City and located in a block full of restaurants and eateries, and it also has free parking in the spot; BUT OMG!! the room was TINY and peach DARK!....it also had a horrible smell to it!, and only ONE CHANNEL IN THE T.V. worked!! ugh! we were so irritated! thankfully like I said, we were just there to change clothes, make up and back out to the strip!. Trying to put make up on was a torture with the lack of light.
Over all, the room seem clean except for that odd odor I mentioned, but I also noticed that the shower curtain had some red stains, it looked like blood or something. The space for the toilet and the shower were tiny! This is definitely the tiniest room I have ever stayed at!
The heater was also super loud and old, and it was leaking, there was a nasty spot in the carpet from the leaking of the heater. I hate complaining and having to be the one that writes a horror story about this place, but I am going to be hones!...I am, over all, a very easy to please person, I do not ask for much at all when I book hotel rooms, but this place was just a night mare! I am aware it was the cheapest price I have ever payed to stay at a motel, but I thought your room was supposed to be in the white complex they show in the pictures on line!, not someone's home across from the pretty pictures you see on the internet!
In addition to the horror, the power sockets on the walls of this place to plug in your charges for your phone and stuff, were broken, most of them; we had to unplugged the lamps -which made the darkness of this little hole worse!- so that we could charge our phones and camera's batteries.
To sum up, if you want to pay extra to stay in their "romantic suites" then go for it i guess?.. I can not rate those as I didn't stay there, even though that's where they trick you into thinking you will be staying at and then once you get there, you are face with the truth!.
I am very dissapointed in this place and will never stay here again!, again, i feel cheated and lied to.
The next morning when we checked out, another foreigner guy was in the reception, but this one spoke better English and was way nicer, he kept asking if everything was ok and stuff, I felt bad for him, but it was too late, we had already experience the horror of that place, and my mind was already made up about exposing their horridness on line!

I don't write too many reviews, even though I travel quite a bit for poker tournaments, especially to AC. Unfortunately, that's where they are! Booked this hotel very last minute on a summer Saturday thru one of the more popular travel sites, based on their generally reliable > 7 out of 10 ratings. As I made the right turn off Route 30 and pulled into the driveway, I just knew I had made a big mistake. The place looked like a cheap, skeevy motel, and that's exactly what it is.

Got to the hotel late, after midnight on Sat. night, and was greeted, well, by no one in the office! Ring the bell, and after 5 mins, the guy on duty opens the door. It's a very hot and humid Aug. night, but the tiny office has no AC and it's like 150 degrees.I see breakfast items, and wonder, is this where they serve Breakfast? LOL Bed and Breakfast, right!

I tell him I have a reservation for a room, I'm beat, just praying the room is not a total roach motel and the bed is decent. "Well, I don't have your reservation". He has two left on paper printouts and the hotel is full. I show him my res on my phone, he barely speaks English, but he keeps muttering "Oh, this is not good, I am not owner, I have big risk here. What should I do mister!". Like 10 times! I'm like, dude, I got a rez, give me the key to my crappy room, so I can get some sleep. This goes on for about 30 mins, no joke. It's now pushing 2 am. They have no computer in the office.

Oh, so someone else comes in, one of the two people unlucky enough to have booked this roach motel too. He takes her first, well, of course, because she is one of the paper rez. It's all like a scene from a rally bad budget comedy movie. Then, some lady comes in staying at the hotel, there are two people just sitting in their car in the parking lot with the lights on, takes 10 mins to get the guy to understand what she's saying, but lo and behold, "wait, I have to see what is going on", and off he goes. Guests doing drugs and fighting in their car. Thankfully, no police called, they just drive off!

Finally, he processes the lady, and lo and behold, a special expensive Jacuzzi suite room (208) is THE ONLY room he can give me, but don't tell the owner! He will have to let me in with a master key. It's been an hour! I'm like, whatever, just take me to it, knowing full well it will not be much and will have the least amount of roaches per room capita in this dive. He tells me to give him something! Dude wants money after all this for the great room! I give him $20, what choice did I have at this point, a 2 hour drive home to north NJ? I finally get in my room, and it's as expected, a crappy dive motel room with a jacuzzi tub right next to the bed, which of course I would never attempt to use.

Tiniest of bathrooms and shower. Hideous bed spread that I throw in the corner. Room is 150 degrees, just like the office, so it takes a good hour to get the AC to cool off the room. Bed had one sheet on top of the mattress, and one sheet for my blanket. Filthy carpet and furniture; refrigerator was dirty. Uggghhh, finally got to sleep at 4 am and did not sleep well at all. Total nightmare experience!

DO NOT STAY HERE, there are tons of "cheap" motels in Absecon or other areas surrounding AC that are actually quite reasonable options. Worst AC experience I have had, and I've been staying there regularly since 2004.

Stay here at your own risk too, since there were numerous drug addicts in parking lot at night and spotted while leaving at around noon. DO NOT BELIEVE THE 3 stars or 7 out of 10 reviews, on some of the sites, they are totally bogus for this motel. Believe the 1 star ratings, they are the total truth. The 7 out of 10 on the Star Trekjie's web site was always my lo bar for booking, no more, and if you need a cheap option near AC, try to go with the budget hotels at major chains, at least.

The man who runs this place is a rip-off artist!

I booked this room on a Tuesday, with the intention of staying there for a few days to do some writing. Then, at the end of my 4 day stay, my husband was going to meet me (Friday night) so we could go out to dinner and celebrate our anniversary.

Since the website which I booked through said pets were welcome, I brought my small dog with me for company. When I got there, the man at the front desk told me the fee for the dog would be 50.00. I decided I did not want to pay that fee (the room was only $ 30 a night!), so I unpacked my things, put the dog back in the car, and took him back home (I live only 40 minutes from Galloway).

In the meantime, when I got home, I discovered that my 18 daughter had been brought to the hospital, so I went to be with her. I didn't make it back to the motel until Thursday afternoon. When I went to the front office to tell the man that I had a different car with me (I had swapped cars with my husband at the hospital), and to let him know I did not have the dog with me, I was met with a scowl. He informed me that the dog had been barking all the time and that was unacceptable! I explained that there was no dog as I had taken him home within an hour after arriving, but he continued to argue with me and complain about the dog barking!

He also questioned why I had a different car, and threatened to charge me extra if I had two cars (which makes no sense since there was plenty of parking). I explained that I traded cars with my husband, and that my husband would be there at the motel the next night (Friday) to hopefully straighten things out. He then told me it would cost $ 15.00 extra to have my husband visit, and $ 35.00 extra if he stayed overnight! This, again, made no sense, since the room was booked for two adults and was based on double occupancy.
I told him I would not pay for a dog that wasn't there, and I would not pay extra for my husband to stay, and he continued to yell and tell me it was too late that he had already charged my card and would not give me any kind of refund. I packed up my things and left, never having stayed even one night at the motel (which, by the way, is NOT a bed and breakfast as no breakfast is available). The man (who refused to give me his name) charged me the full cost of the room, plus the fee for the dog, plus tax.

I currently have a BBB complaint against this place.

There was no wifi and our air conditioner did not work at first, we also could not locate the remote. So I called the front desk and he said to change the channel by hand and he couldn't fix the air. Well, about ten minutes later a huge cockroach crawled across the bed!!!! Immediately we went to talk to the guy to get the money refunded. He said no take this other room. Of course we didn't want to but iit was out only option. The door latch was broken, the whole ace I super dark and unsafe. We were told we could talk to the owner in the morning. I went door and stumbled upon the owners father who freaked out and yelled no to the refund. My boyfriend booked through hotels.com and they were just as useless in this whole situation. It's absurd! Please don't stay here, I'm sure there are better options!!

Do I begin with the broken lock on the door? The mold in the bathroom? The filthy bathroom? The dirty towels? The fact that the window was broken so my husband had to create a barrier with a chair from the room?
Perhaps you'd like to hear about the hole in the door that was covered by an electrical plate? The electrical outlets that didn't work? The heat that was set to 90 and still didn't warm up the room?
Or my favorite part-- receiving a phone call at 10:52 a.m. informing us that if we didn't check out by 11, we'd be charged $20, and then having to finish packing our bags in the PARKING LOT of this EMPTY motel.
I've stayed in a variety of hotels over the course of my travels, and this one wins the award for WORST HOTEL.
How this place is rated as good is something I will never understand.
I look for two things when I travel: safety and cleanliness. This hotel, The Relax Inn, failed at both.

the only shelves for the clothing were broken, and attempted to be fixed with the SCOTCH TAPE, the bed linen was ripped, the towels had giant holes in the middle, the microwave's knob was absent , there was a hole on the bathroom door, the mirrors were extremely dirty and sticky- they obviously weren't cleaned at all, the phone was disgustingly dirty as well.

I went two minutes over my checkout time. The manager charged me for a full hour. He was very arrogant and inconsiderate. As for the room, it is quite old and quite dirty. So many other choices in the area. Definitely not coming back.

Honestly, it saddens me to leave this review, since my husband and I stayed here for years. We were extremely excited to take a one day/one night stay at relax inn. We got there and paid for a Jacuzzi tub. Make sure when you check out you put your bringing 2 people. I must have left only 1 was staying online at check out. Front desk charged me an extra $20 and gave me crap about not putting 2 people were staying in the room online at check out. We were paying a lot already (they use to be way cheaper for their Jacuzzi rooms). I let that go and paid the extra $20 dollars. They gave us the key to our room and we started to settle in. As soon as we walked into the room, the smoke alarm was beeping. It started to really annoy us. My husband tried to talk to front desk and they refused to come to the room and fix it. Instead, front desk handed my husband batteries. He came back and spent almost a half hour of our trip trying to fix their smoke alarm!!!! Finally, we thought maybe the batteries they gave us were bad so we left for the night to the boardwalk. We had to stop at 11pm at night when we were coming back to room to a local grocery store. We grabbed batteries and got back to room. My husband again tried to change the batteries. There must have been something with the wiring and we had to sleep all night with beeping every 5 minutes. Despite all that, I wasn't going to make a big deal of it. We were trying to relax and have a good time. One thing that really was the last straw was the Jacuzzi tub. We were so excited to get back to the room and have a nice bath, well let's just say, the water was brown. It smelled like fecal matter. We could not even use the tub. That's why we get that room! My husband talked to the one staff/owner the next day since it was late at night when we discovered the tub. We were informed that the city had a sewage problem and it wasn't there fault. We called the Galloway township on our ride home and they informed us that there is nothing wrong with the counties water system. They lied to us. I wanted a refund since everything was unfixable and our room was terrible. If I had bought two days like I always do, we would have left after the first night and got another room on the strip. There are probably 30+ better places to stay that actually care about there customers. They don't care about their rooms. Sheets are ripped, tub is disgusting, wiring is bad, and air conditioner is terrible and does not get cold. Please do not give them business. I really just don't want anyone to waste their money on this place. It's dirty, dysfunctional, and will ruin your stay in Galloway. This is coming from someone who stayed there for years. It might be so bad that you could get sick. For the amount of money I spent, we could have gotten a waaayyy nicer room and had a better time.
