We stayed at the Shamrock Arms for two nights as part of our 5th wedding anniversary, taking up lodging at room # 3 and using it as a base for activities outside Waterval Boven. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and drove into the property. There was no reception but we were drawn to the building at the front of...

As a stop over on your way to Kruger Park this is a very convenient and friendly stop with good hospitality and everything you need in the rooms. Meal sizes may be too big but the people are friendly and very accommodating. Had a great stay.

Decided to chill for a week end. What a find. Terry the owner and Jacques chef, no entertainer. Whats the difference awesome hospitality, full of atmosphere and more than enough to keep you busy during day, whether it be walking, hiking or spending the day in nearby places of interest. Both Terry and Jacques a hive of information. Definitely on...

A very good guest lodge to stop over on the way to Kruger or Blyde River Canyon. We spent one night and had excellent talks and very good diner. Breakfast buffet was ok. But, we never got such an excellent worldclass omelette served. Forget everything else and order it! The room was excellent and had everything what's needed.

If you want to be away from reminders of anything remotely commercial, this is your place. Clean, homely, welcoming, owner-managed where going the extra mile (and some) seems the norm. The owner took over three hours out of his week-end to take me on a hike up one of the toes of the Drakensberg. The rIch heritage of this area,...

Waterval Boven is looking a little run down, but the Shamrock Arms is a shining light in this small town. I was on business near Middelburg and usually stay in Witbank, which is a large, soulless town in my opinion. This time I decided to drive on for an hour into the stunning Highveld Meander region to stay at the...

We stayed over for one night during a bike trip at the Shamrock. We were very impressed with the friendly reception on Saturday afternoon by Jaco. We freshened up and went to the bar for the Springbok / World 15 game. We were made welcome and enjoyed the evening in front of a lovely fire with good wine. Thereafter we...

Shamrock arms are beyond expectations for this small little down with amazing surrounding and attractions if you are one for the adventurists outdoor life. This is by far the most coziest stay and best service one will get in Waterval Booven. The owner are educated on the surrounded history and attractions always lovely to get too know the history of...
