First of all, the Hotel location is just great. The beach is just on the other side of the road. The rooms are sufficiently large and have a great view of the beach. The property is still under development and we could notice some construction/renovation happening within the property.

The intercom didn't work but the manager politely offered his contact number to place any room service orders. Also we were told that there is no WiFi - but routers were blinking around the hotel.

The breakfast was average and looked very makeshift. Perhaps this will be improved as the operations stabilize.

Overall, will not recommend this place till the property and operations are setup fully as there are better options available adjacent to this property.

The hotel is located right in front of the sea. Very beautiful location. They have a sprawling lawn which is well maintained. They have on the house breakfast in the morning. Food is very well made. Food can be ordered during the day/night prior to one hour. Tea/coffee is available throughout the day. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and very well maintained. The hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. They have sea facing rooms which has breath-taking view of the sea. The sound of waves throughout the day is mesmerizing to listen to. Once you are in this place, you don't want to step out anywhere. The beach is opposite to the gates of the hotel where you can take a walk or swim and enjoy the weather and view.

I usually don't write long reviews however this time i really like to get to the details as i have mixed review. Visited this placed based on previous reviews, i will mention by each category..

Location 5/5
must say.. Awesome location! It's very beautiful, esp the Sea facing rooms, they have nailed it! I don't mind visiting this place again just for the location.

Service 5/5
Few young lads are running the whole show, they are yet amateurs at hotel management , but very courteous. Any queries, they helped all along with a sweet smile.

Food 2/5
This is very funny, we were shocked to know that there is no food available at the resort, if you ever place an order for anything, they fetch the same from a nearby restaurant after 1 or 2 hours.. Price was reasonable though.. Breakfast was limited to 2 items, idli/puttu and was served only after 9 am. Taste was excellent but would have been better if there were more variety. Please make sure to make food arrangements else where if your booking this place..

Amenities 4/5
It's a basic hotel with just breakfast and towels in the room. Rooms are new and clean, no mosquito or pest menace, place is humid, pls ensure you choose AC rooms, tv and phone had problems in our room, but was later resolved. Definitely value for money.

Overall a good experience, the location offset all other limitations. The beach was beautiful with very limited crowd, an amazing place for a weekend getaway! Hope my review helps, have a good trip.. 😊

The rooms are insanely priced for the quality of the service they are providing. The a/c does not work properly which is the only reason we got into this place. The attitude of the staff is also very indifferent. So, unless you want to be disappointed at the end of the trip, please avoid this s place by all means.

Worst place to stay in Kannur. Unclean rooms and corridors with rude service. No working TVs in the rooms, no hot water, no lift and dirty bathrooms. Had to escape from this place in about 4 hours. For the price, lots of better options available in Kannur.

Since this is the first review for this hotel in TripAdvisor, I will provide add as much details as possible.
So to start with I was looking for beach side hotels in Kannur. Doing that I came across this Hotel. I got a great deal from some website. We booked two rooms, Premium A/c Room and Suite A/c Room. The Suite was sea facing, but the Premium room wasn't.

Hotel Location: 4.5/5.0
-----------------------------
The Hotel is located in the Payyambalam Beach Road. It's located just before Kanaka Beach House. The sea beach is around 20 FT from the Marmara Beach House Gate. The location is very good, though it gets very dark in the night, and you hardly see anyone around during that time. But its safe.

Hotel Composition: 4.5/5.0
----------------------------------
It's a two floor beach house. It's new, may be an year old. There are ample parking inside the Hotel (atleast 15 cars can be parked if not more). In the 1st floor, there are 10 rooms (5 of them sea facing) and one sea facing conference room. On the Ground Floor, there is one big hall (with stage) which can be very well used for any big functions, then one mini restaurant/cafe (4 tables with 4 chairs each), wash rooms and reception. Outside there is a water tap and a shower (needed to clean sands after coming from sea). There are no amenities as such in the Hotel, but if you love sea, do you need other amenities!

Rooms: 5/5
---------------
Well all depends which room you take, One of our room was a A/C Sea facing suite. So for the price which I got, it's awesome. You have a wardrobe, TV, 2 sofas, one center table, one Bed side table. In the balcony, you have 2 plastic chairs and a table. The bed was also very cozy. Overall, the sea view makes it outstanding.

Food 3.5/5.0
-----------------
Hotel serves complimentary breakfast. We preferred Tea, Idli, Vada, Bread Omelette all the 3 days. It was good.
In Lunch/Dinner, we tried several options. Some of the items were good, some were average. But most important was that, we got what we wanted, and most important how we wanted. For example, we wanted Dal Fry with no spice and no onion, they made the same for us. Similarly, there were many such dishes, which was made as we wanted. We tried lot of sea food there.
It's recommended to pre-order the food (atleast 1 hr in advance) instead of ordering sitting in the restaurant. That would ensure you get food in time. Also tell them in advance how spicy, or how exactly you would like to have.

Service 5.0/5.0
-------------------
Well the day when we arrived, we were the only guest. So we got the best service possible. Fresh towels as and when we want, extra pillow, room cleaning daily, choice of food, all were timely. On the last day, there were lot of other guests, so there was some delay, but it was manageable.

Since Hotel does not have Ayurvedic massage, we went to Ashokam Beach Resort, very close to this hotel. You can try that.

Overall, it was a great 3 day stay in Marmara Beach House. I got really good deal on the price, and the stay in the hotel was great. I would give overall rating of 5.0/5.0, since we had a great time with my family there. There are lot of things to see around Kannur, so do visit that place.

I had booked a room for three days starting dec 21st here. I reached at around 9pm for checkin. AC, intercom and TV was not working in the room, we didn't care about TV but AC should work. Upon protest they changed our room. Same condition but AC was working so we needed to rest after long drive from Bangalore. AC stopped working in midnight and water started dripping out. There was no intercom to call for assistance . I complained that in the morning and was promised that it would be fixed. We went out whole day and in the evening it the AC was not even looked at. We checked out next day.

This is not a resort in the first place. It's a banquet Hall. There are marriages and functions happening so the rooms around 10 in total on first floor are used as changing rooms. The first look once you reach the reception and look around, it's dirty. The rooms are not well maintained. Breakfast is cooked elsewhere and brought there, so expect a cold breakfast. There is only one staff who works, Rashid, he is one in all,the other 2 are managers.

Only plus point is the location, but what the heck there are other properties around.

Avoid this place on a vacation and save yourself from stress during holidays..
