We are a family run homestay on the beach front in Kannur, North Kerala, India. This charming place in a quiet and secluded area, very close to a pristine and mostly deserted Thottada beach is also situated by a small river. On a beach amongst lush green coconut groves and with a view of the sea, it offers the best in food, relaxation and comfort. With 4 double rooms and a triple room, the beach house has been every travelers delight for over a decade. All the rooms offer a breath taking view of the beach and the sea. Meals are set and conducted at a communal dining area at fixed timings. There are no room service, TV or porters. Wifi is available. Activities include walking on the long stretch of golden beach, among thick coconut plantation through the village, basking in the sun and sand, bird watching, boating, angling, sightseeing or simply watching the village life go by.

Kannur Beach house is the perfect place to be for either relaxing, doing yoga or getting away from the bustle of life. With hammocks across the garden and the beach viewable from the property it feels like a little piece of paradise. Rosi and Nasir are very helpful and kind and do their best to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. I will definitely be returning!

Our favourite place to relax in India. Kannur Beach House has so much to offer, wonderful food, sea views through coconut palms, a backwater teaming with bird life, sea swimming, massages and much more. Most of all it is Rosie and Nazir that make it so special, there is always a warm welcome and good conversations round the communal table They are full of local knowledge and always there to help find a tuk tuk or a visit to a Theyam. We can't recommend it more highly.

I had the most amazing time here. The hosts were impeccable in every way, and always available. Relax in a hammock, enjoy good talks and coconut water, while listening to the calming waves of the nearby ocean. In the evening take a stroll on the beach, watch the sunset, and enjoy the tasty, fresh food back at the resort. I will miss everything about this place, and the people living there. Thank you!

Amazing location with the most beautiful beach. The service was great and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious and served at the right time. Loved the view from the rooms and the bed was comfortable. A great place to travel as a group.

My stay here was probably the closest thing to Heaven I'll ever be able to experience. The ocean was perfect to swim in when it would get too warm, and then a little nap afterwards in the hammocks would get me ready for the next swim. The food was delicious, a perfect combination of indian food and a little bit of western food (toast, porridge, yogurt). The rooms were cozy and spacious; although I spent most of my time outside because of the beautiful climate. But what I'll cherish the most has to be the kindness and hospitality of the host family. Me and my friends enjoyed some very memorable conversations with them, and if I ever were to go back here it would primarily be because of them.

The strongest indication of quality is repeat business. Kannur Beach House is a place where people keep coming back, and back, and back again! There must be some kind of magic here. I think it's a combination of hosts and setting. Rosi and Nazir are always kind, helpful and insightful plus the home-cooked Kerala food is great. The house itself is a perfect place to relax, nestling beside a coconut-laden lagoon and a virtually deserted beach. It's not commercial here, or over-touristy and may it stay that way! So, we keep coming back. Book way in advance – KBH fills up quickly. We've got next year reserved already. Looking forward!

We are "returning guests" and I reiterate what we have said in previous reviews. Beach house is situated in an idyllic position overlooking a lagoon and the beach. Hammocks hang beneath the palm trees and the view from the shaded balcony is delightful. En suite rooms are clean and comfortable and have fans and some have a/c. We found the latter unnecessary as there was often a cooling sea breeze. Beach house is a homestay, not an hotel. Guests eat with the family at set times. The food is delicious with a large choice of options at breakfast and dinner. There is something for everyone. Early morning tea and coffee are welcome after a swim as the sun rises over the hill, and afternoon tea is served to those wishing to gather and chat about the day's excursions. A kitchenette

If you want a taste of paradise then KBH is the place to stay. We stayed at the beach house with friends earlier this month for 8 day’s. It wasn’t enough! We left rested, well fed and some lovely memories of chatting around the dinner table with new like minded travellers. The food is amazing and Rosie takes you through each dish. The natural views and the sound of the birds remind you of living so close to nature. To see one kingfisher can be amazing but during our time there we seen many every day. I have to mention the hosts Rosie and Nazir, they are so helpful and and answer all those questions that you collect whilst traveling in Kerala. The beach which is a minute away from the house is completely unspoilt with palm trees, and sand. A swim before breakfast such a luxury is

My sister and I were lucky to spend a whole week at Kannur Beach House doing a yoga course. It was, for both of us, one of the most relaxing and beautiful trips of our lives. And much of it was thanks to: The house, which is beautiful and perfect to lead a simple and enjoyable life. The location, which is in a forest adjacent to a river and a minute away from the beach. There were lots of birds, which made the stay very interesting and fun, and also the beach is almost empty, with amazing sunsets. Also, a couple of small towns are 15 minute walks away and it is well connected to Kannur by a short bus trip. And most of all, the stay was great thanks to the hosts: Rosi and Nazir. Rosi is an amazing cook, and every meal was a new discovery of the colorful and rich indian
