An amazingly pleasant experience. Its a lovely serene place run by extremely efficient staff. Each of them stayed on their toes and yet did every task with a genuine smile.. this is a rare gem of a place. They ace on Hospitality and a home like environment…. No frills maybe but yet very clean and the location is just beautiful. It gives u the feeling of a home away from home. Went here with around 15 family members. Had booked the entire house. This place is absolutely brilliant. Loved every bit of it. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and always at your service. Being just a few feet off the beach wall, you cannot ask for a better location. The house has a huge balcony and outdoor sitting area which is a great place to hang out. Not very close to the city so its better to stock up with basic stuff you might need. Did use the in house catering which was pretty good. The beach does offer some water sports too. This house has a huge lawn and great place to have a party. Best place to relax and I would surely recommend this place to anyone. Ideally i feel its best to book all rooms as privacy might be a issue since there are lot of common areas.

Can Trip advisor reviews be wrong.. So far I haven't seen that. Beautiful location. The moment we drove through the road on which this beach house is , we knew the place would be perfect. With a deserted beach on one side and beach houses on the other side of the road, it couldn't have been better. Once we reached Kanaka beach house, we were very warmly greeted by the staff . Rajiv who happened to be the in-charge was very friendly and always ready to help . We stayed at the ground floor of this property (It has 3 rooms on the GF and 3 rooms on the first floor). A big hall on both the floors. Advantage of booking at ground floor is play area which was perfect for our 2 year old son and the cool breeze that was blowing. We reached around 2 pm and sitting in vernadah outside the room was awesome.A very strong breeze to keep you cool and a lovely view of the sea. Advantage of taking rooms in the first floor is you get a balcony where u can sit and enjoy the view of the magnificient arabian sea. First floor rooms are comparatively expensive though. Food they served was awesome. We had typical fish curry and fish fry for lunch and chinese for dinner. Both were equally good. There are lot of coconut trees in the compound, we requested for some coconut water and we had it right in our room. All in all a wonderful experience , a value for money place. Would definitely like to come here again.

We rented the whole house for my wedding. The wedding went smoothly and the guests were all very happy. Felt like home....
Reasons why you should stay in Kanaka Beach house.
1. The view is spectacular - The beach is just 10 mtrs away from the house. Nothing can beat the view and the sunset... 2. The food was awesome - Please try the fish curry and the prawns Biryani. You have great food if you are a vegetarian as well.. 3. The lovely breeze from the beach will beat the need for air conditioning even in a hot and humid place like kannur. (All the rooms are air conditioned) 4.The caretakers of the house were extremely nice to us, they took care of us and all the issues we faced during our stay. 5. Great place to have your wedding if you plan to get married in Kannur. 6. If you have a large family and want to have a safe and enjoyable vacation in Kannur, I strongly recommend Kanaka Beach house.
We did have hiccups during our stay..... One air conditioner was not working properly couple of days, this however is a very small issue compare to the fun we had in the beach house.

We stayed at Kanaka Beach House for 3 nights in 2nd week of Dec 2012 and enjoyed our stay every bit. Our first floor standard A/C room was clean and spacious with everything in order;the highlight being the view of the sea from the verandah. There is ample space for kids to run around and play in the house. The payambalam beach is just a 2 minute walk away, it's clean with no crowds (atleast on weekdays) and with a relatively calm sea is ideal for morning and evening strolls and jogs. The House has a kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge etc which was useful to heat up meals for our 14 month old.
Kannur town is about 3-4 kms drive and there are several sightseeing places like the Kannur Fort, and Arakkal museum within a 10 minute drive.
The only crib i have was the food, unlike other home stays we didn't get home cooked food, food was ordered in by the owner, while the traditional breakfast of appam, puttu was good, lunch and dinner were ordinary. I would have appreciated if we had the option of home cooked food like most home stays.

Had never visited Kannur earlier and was pleasantly surprised when I drove in to this beach house. Its located on the Payyambalam Beach road and what a location !!! Opposite one of the most calmer beaches I have come across in India. The property in itself was very well maintained with very courteous staff (Special mention of Rajeev - the caretaker). We had booked standard AC rooms and they were ready for occupying by the time we arrived. The owner Neeta had called us in advance to know what we would be requiring for lunch as there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity of this place. The food quality in general was good and I guess you really cant complain with hungry stomachs. The room cleanliness was good with clean linen and room flooring. The bathrooms are clean as well with a shower enclosure. The equipment in the room - AC, TV and the like all seemed new and were all functional. The rooms all open to the beach front and is quite a treat sitting there with the breeze on your face. The property is well maintained with neatly manicured lawns, regularly washed outside floors - to clear of beach sand and general cleanliness everywhere. The lunch and dinner have to be ordered in advance so that they either arrange it from the city or cook it in the house. The breakfast was complimentary. There is a choice of Veg and Non Veg food that you can choose from for the meals. They do not serve alcohol on the premises however if you wish to purchase it you need to go into the city and a recommended place is Hotel Savoy - not too far from this place- where you can buy alcohol and have it at the beach house. There is a nice tree structure in the lawn on which you can sit and drink your choice of beverage taking in the view of the sea. Other small but maybe important info - Plug points in the house are round and not square so do carry those converters, bathrooms do not have shaver plug points, Round the clock hot water available, clean filtered drinking water available, no electronic safes however closets with keys to lock in your valuables. The staff speak English, Malayalam and Hindi and are eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Their online booking site is yet to go live so would suggest to call them for bookings. Ideal for families, group of friends and couples to have a great time. The beach in front is great with the waters being calm and hardly any people. Also close to the place is Asokam Ayurvedic center in case you need a good Ayurvedic massage. Bookings via appointments only.

We have be there for our friends wedding. This is a stunning view of beach and it was raining heavily making the sea more beautiful. Beach is just a walk across the road. Make sure to stay at first floor if you want the view of the beach. Food is just ok.

We were at kanaka beach house in Feb 2014. We had a wonderful time for all the 3 days that we stayed. Wonderful ambience, well maintained rooms, proximity to the beach, play area for the kids and a decent meal are just a few things to mention. Looking forward to visit the place again.

Kanaka beach resort is a wonderful 7 bedroom resort which we had rented for a family wedding. Situated almost next to the sea, it has a view worth your money. Kudos to the owners to have retained the homely experience without adding the so-called (star) hotel-like facilities. Rooms are huge with ample space and the necessary amenities needed for a very comfortable stay. Huge balconies and sit-outs add to the openness of this place. 4 rooms are on the top floor and 3 on the ground floor.
They have the a wonderful staff especially - Rajiv and Raghava, who will ensure that your stay is as comfortable as can be and will go out of the way to help you out. B'fast was complimentary, lunch and dinner (if needed) can be requested for and your choice will mostly be provided for, however it is not cooked in the resort but the food provided was very tasty, very very Kerala and mouth watering. With the huge area around, it is one great place to host a party for your family and friends (both outdoors and indoors). Place is not very close to the city, you need to have a vehicle to travel around.
The most exiting thing is to have the sound of the waves constantly in your ears, especially in the night and the first thing to hear when you wake up. View of the fishing boats on the horizon and the setting sun makes this place really a WORTH VISITING PLACE for all those who travel to Kannur. If you travel in a group, do try to book the entire resort, you will never repent it.
Providing a good wi-fi facility in the resort will surely help as it is currently only available at certain pockets in the resort.
Had a great stay, a wonderful time and one worth remembering for a very long time to come.

We stayed @ Kanaka beach house during October 2013 for 3 days, Travelled with family [around 10 members]. Had booked 3 Std A/C rooms .. Since there were no other guests we had the entire house for ourself.
The beach house itself is beautiful with big rooms which are clean and well maintained., The staff were very friendly and always at our service. Since this place is not very close to the city, Its good to have your your own vehicle to move around..,
The house has a huge balcony and outdoor sitting area, Good view of the beach. Kids enjoyed hanging around there when it was raining., It also has a huge lawn area and plenty of space for kids to relax & play during non beach hrs.
Absolutely brilliant .. Best place to relax and I would surely recommend this place to beach lovers.
