The beach house is located at the beach just 10 meters from the sea. It is a modern, furnished, fully air conditioned, well maintained holiday home & has all the facilities for a comfortable stay, in a quiet, homely ambience, unlike commercialised resorts & hotels. This is an extrordinary place situated on the most perfect beach you will find in India. The hotel is a small boutique one with only 4 rooms overlooking the beach from up the hill surrounded by a lovely garden with a gate leading direct to the beach. The rooms are extrordinary spacious. Two of them with balconies facing the gorgeous sea view and two of them with a bay window with a mattress suitable for minor kids. The bathroom has a spa and a spa type shower. Our cook mr, Reddy and his assistant Chandra take care of us and see to that we are confortable and are served lovely dishes, with fresh fish an seafood etc.

My stay along with my friends at Ocean Hues (Kannur) was nothing short of spectacular. The property's elegant design, combined with its top-notch amenities (Truly of high standards), made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience for each one of us. Add on, the accessibility of clean the the private beach, its amazing sunset view truly raised bar on all our expectations. The attentive and courteous staff catered to my every need, ensuring that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Let me mention Reddy and Chandru co who have been so courteous and catered those delicious food for us (Reddy made me hot porridge when he noticed I wasn't keeping well and high the next day morning! Thankyou!) . Special call out to 'Brownie' the dog (Weiner Breed) was adorable and truly the highlight of the property (indeed came to receive and drop us back to our cars!). I am dropping few of the pics which will give a glimpse of this wonderful property. With its convenient location and outstanding service, Ocean Hues - The beach House, has quickly become my go-to choice for accommodations whenever I travel to Kannur. 5 star!

Ocean Hues Beach House is simply a gem on the beach at Thottada, Kannur! We were lucky to find it available for a walk-in booking (after we had canceled a booking at a property nearby, which we found not decent). Ocean Hues' location is no less than amazing! Right on the beach, with just a few steps down to the ocean sand. We stayed 3 nights in the upstairs big room with balcony to sea view, a spacious room, a comfortable king size bed, a huge bath room with both shower and jacuzzi bath. Two wonderful people took great care of us: Mr. Reddy, who cooked the best, most fresh, tastiest variety of dishes (3 meals included in room rate), paying a lot of attention to our taste and dietary requirements. Mr. Chandru aided, cleaned, fixed, always around to be at our service, with a big smile. Our stay at Ocean Hues was one of the best we had experienced throughout our 9-week journey in South India. Our family of three had an unforgettable break at Ocean Hues for the fourth time. The food was a highlight, especially the fresh and flavorful fish dishes and the authentic Kerala cuisine. Meals here were a treat and a great way to experience local flavors.
What struck us immediately was the stunning view as we descended the steps to Ocean Hues. It's a silent retreat from the usual routine, inviting you to immerse in the beauty of nature. The staff, Sundar sir and Chandru, were incredibly prompt and hospitable, making our stay even more enjoyable.
Being right by the sea had its perks—swimming whenever we pleased and changing conveniently in our rooms. The warm waters and clean beach were just what we needed for relaxation. Plus, the property's serene setting amidst coconut trees made it all the more picturesque.
Safety and privacy were top-notch, making it a safe haven, especially for solo female travelers seeking peace and seclusion. Overall, Ocean Hues is a must-visit for anyone wanting to disconnect and unwind. Our only regret? Having to leave this tranquil oasis after a relaxed and rejuvenating vacation.
We will be going back for sure.

I'm have not experienced anything like this till i stayed here after vacationing in 34 countries for last 30 years. The first view once you enter the house is I'll make you stop talking, thinking and even calling others.
Great house, great private beach, fantastic rooms and astounding food...
The in-house Kerala cook can make anything but stick to fish if you love that.. meat one can get anywhere ...

Very friendly staff Mr Reddy and his friend Chandru treated us well, there is also a cute mascot dog called brownie. The food is home cooked and extremely good. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The beach view and sunset was great. The rooms have a great view on the balcony although a little restricted by the fiberglass. Everything else was perfect.

It was a memorable break for us at ocean hues and we wish to go back there again someday. We (a family of 3) drove down to the place from Cochin on our way to Bangalore. Food esp., the fish was tasty and fresh, and all the preparations of the fish was very good, so were the vegetable preparations. We ate the local Kerala preparation of food and it was very tasty. The appams were crispy and soft, and the stew was really good. Taking 3 meals at the place made sense because there were not too many local restaurants at walkable distance. The caretaker and his two help were respectful, polite and informative. The view from the place is very scenic, set amidst lush greenery and coconut trees. One can hear the waves all the time. We swam in the sea and the convenience of changing in your room and running into the waves is too good. The sea water was warm and inviting and the beach was clean. The AC room was clean and tidy. A perfect place to unwind and laze at the beach.

Must book this place if you are planning to stay in Kannur. What a location! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and staff was very helpful and offered delicious food. For those travelling with senior citizens, please be mindful there are about 50 steps to get to the property and the washrooms are modern themed so will be good to have a helping hand throughout.
As we had reached late in the night and had booked this place only for a night, our request for extension of stay was entertained with no issues. Highly recommend this beach house.

Excellent location, on a beautiful and very quiet beach, the sea was safe enough for swimming when we were there. We had the 'superior room', with the spacious and private balcony. The staff was very friendly and prepared excellent (Indian) meals with fresh fish. Kannur is nearby - the fort and Arakal museum are worth visiting (esp. a must-see for people from the NL with an interest in colonial history). Mr Kanan (the owner) was very helpful giving us suggestions and replied quickly to our e-mails. From Kannur we took the excellent Vandebharat train to Kochi. We arrived from Nileshwar, backwaters there are worth visiting (more quiet than in Alleppey).

We have 4 bedrooms, all with a/c, attached bathroom & sea view. There is also a common living room with an attached bathroom.
