Having stayed in many dubious hotels/camps throughout Central/East Africa I can safely say that Afex has totally won me over, from the friendliness and thoroughness of the staff, to the no nonsense top levels of security clearly evident yet still maintaining the ambience of a stunning hotel campus literally on the banks of the White Nile. The food was tremendous...

Ok a bit pricey and out of the way... But hey its one of the best hotels along the Nile Banks, It is very secure and one wont beat the overall atmospehere of the place. Unlike hotels in a building.. This place is very unique and definitely provides you with an African setting with hotel class (not to be compared...

DMyst, many thanks for your review and your comments will be taken on board. We are in the process of upgrading the camp with a view to make it the place to stay in Juba. The views along the Nile are breathtaking and we are seriously investing in the infrastructure and the services, especially the restaurant which is the hub...

Please note that this review is for the restaurant only, not the hotel. This is my favorite place in Juba, for the peaceful atmosphere along the Nile above all else. The food, service, and drinks are all average, but I can't speak to the lodging.

I was happy to be back here for 4 days this month. I stayed back in March, so I knew what to expect. I stayed in one of the bungalows close to the river, which are quite comfortable. The air conditioner did struggle to get the temperature down to a comfortable level, but it did in the end. Aside from...

We went to AFEX restaurant for a Sunday lunch. The location is exceptional, we sat under a mango tree, along the banks of the river Nile, drinking a cold beer watching boats going up and down the river. We had grilled chicken and a salad which was clean and delicious. My favourite spot in Juba. I highly recommend it.

Once you can find it the restaurant is in a lovely location alongside the Nile. You will need to sign in which is good for security but worryingly leaving vehicle outside the main gate. You then have to walk past the accommodation which appears to be containers to get to the restaurant and riverside. There is plenty of local activity...

Nice location next to the Nile. Basic accommodation in containers. Functional and clean. Food is fine and the atmosphere is pleasant. good security. Not really much to say. When in Juba it just depends on what you want.

a container hotel, with a few solid-builds. all rooms clean, comfortable, mozzie-nets with sufficient AC. didn't get food poisoning from the buffet and have some promo nights. bar staff are friendly. Internet was fast-ish, cool view of the nile. Sad looking pool. okay for a few days or for pizza night.

Great place to eat on an evening with great selection and themed menu, refurbished bar..Located beside the White Nile, Mixed crowd but very spacious. Secure compound but be wary of leaving as a visitor at night. Drive to and from only.
