At the moment we are staying at the Valentine hotel, and I have to comment on several things.
First of all, this hotel notices the years, the bathrooms are preserved but need renovation. Rooms are good and relatively spacious and clean.
In reference to the restaurant last night we had dinner there and it's okay, nice staff
The cafeteria is quite another topic. We have breakfast included with the room and it is a standard breakfast, no buffet, coffee, juice, infusion and little else. As for what you can eat you also have many limitations and the toast is harder bread than a morning hangover and they also have no great variety of things to put on it. Staff-wise the bald older gentleman is the nastiest person I've encountered in a long time. He treated both me and my family and his own peers terrible and made me swallow toast, burnt and dried when I wanted a croissant, to which I was entitled, and when I informed him that I could eat it he treated me with ways that I have not seen anyone who works in front of the public in a long time, telling me that he was not right and despising me.
In general the regular experience because we met this gentleman on the first day, which made him no longer daydune there, although you pay it anyway. I would look at the other hotel for the next one that seems much newer in terms of bathrooms above all.
The rest of the staff very friendly and thank you, but I will not return.

Good hotel restaurant in town center. Some free parking around the building available if lucky. Otherwise there is an underground hotel parking area available at extra cost. Good, comfortable rooms. Very good beds. Large restaurant and separate large bar/cafeteria. Both very popular with the locals. Reasonable prices and very good all in daily 3 course menu @ 17 euros pp on weekdays and 19 euros pp on Sundays.

From the hotel the best the restaurant, and its waitress. I don't know her name, but she looked like one of the main ones. The room and although, the comfortable bed. The bathroom did not correspond to a hotel in that category. Ugly, and old. Corked bathtub. Old towels. They gave us a room that the window overlooked an inner courtyard and all the smells of the kitchens rose. Let me know if you go.....don't get this.....Quality/price shooting face. I repeat, do not stop eating in his restaurant. Breakfasts, good, but impractical, you have to go order your at the bar, but all very good.

We stayed at this lovely hotel because of a recommendation, and we are very grateful to our friend and want to pass it on. Aguilar de Campoo is a very pretty river town to visit, with its own castle, enchanting architecture, great street market and interesting history. We were on our way to the Santander ferry, and it’s a great stopover one hour away, but will definitely revisit this hotel when we return to Spain because it’s a great hotel to base yourself. We were in a newly renovated room with balcony and a lovely garden view. The staff are very warm and welcoming, the restaurant is fabulous and serves an excellent 3 course menu of the day with bread and a bottle of wine for 14 euros. They kindly offer a translation in English, which was gratefully received, as, despite my best efforts to learn Spanish, menus can be a bit of a mine field! I write this review while I’m still here because they have given us a special finish to our journey through Portugal and Spain. Thank you to the staff of the Valentin hotel. We will return, as I’m sure many of your previous guests do also. Muchas gracias , Johanna & Paul Xx

I will talk about the restaurant (I did not stay): it is a spacious dining room, Castilian style and very well attended. Fabric tablecloths, uniformed staff and very homemade and varied food, I was very comfortable and loved the place, with a large glass window and all the wooden dining room, Cabin type. Fenomenal.

We had booked to stay here for 1 night but due to the ferry cancellation, we spent an extra 3 nights here. Considering it was Easter the hotel staff were very accommodating in finding us space. The weather was cold but the hotel rooms were warm, beds comfortable & plenty of hot water available for a bath!
The food in the dining room was exceptional with an amazing choice of dishes, As I am lactose intolerant, this was not a problem for the staff & seemed to take it in their stride.
All staff were very friendly & went out of their way to try to speak some English so life over an Easter period was special.
We will always recommend this hotel as its within an hour travel from Santander & very easy to find - you cannot go wrong!!

The rooms have been upgraded to a very high standard since our last visit. We had a room on 1st floor with a small balcony - except the weather did not permit us to use it!! The hotel is ideally located in the centre of the small historic town & just over an hour from Santander. Parking is offered but is underground.
The restaurant opens at 9 which is a little later than most Spanish restaurants but the food was worth waiting for! We had menu del dia which included turbot as a choice - this was superbly cooked!! The breakfasts were served in the cafeteria & were sufficient for our needs. The staff were very friendly with the receptionist speaking English. We would certainly use this hotel again.

A treasured gem just 65 miles from Santander so easy for access to ferryport .
The rooms are spacious & there is plenty of hot water to enjoy. There is central heating in the rooms.
The staff are extremely helpful & friendly , speaking some English. The restaurant opens at 9 in the evening but the quality of the food is worth the wait. The staff go out of their way to cater for any dietary requirements with nothing being too much trouble - the waiting staff speak some English & are super helpful.
Breakfast is served by friendly male staff in the cafeteria & is perfectly adequate.

This is a lovely hotel with every available facility required for a weary traveller. Its in an easy location just off A67 so only 1 hour from Santander. Its a very pretty historic town with a pretty river setting just off the main square
The staff were extremely helpful & spoke good English. The rooms were spacious although on the basic side, they were very clean.
There is a good restaurant serving menu del dia from 9 at night & the cafeteria where breakfast is eaten, was well staffed & clean.
This is a perfect location for travellers who want a convenient stop-over.
Our only complaint, which the managment could not deal with effectively was the noise generated by a group of Portuguese students who happened to be staying at the same time
We would use this hotel again.

Three of us went to eat, the food was really good, but the shock came when they brought us the Castilian soup, which literally exploded in my face, causing burns, not to mention all my clothes. The very attentive waitresses did not know what to do, they brought me ointment for my face, they offered to take me to the hospital, therefore, my criticism is directed at the restaurant's ownership, which in the face of a situation of this magnitude, what less than having invited us even though out to the cafe. Well no, we pay the entire bill. You judge. I will not come back
