I had to be in South Brent for a sad family event but I was lucky that my Uncle booked me in here. The room was nice and as you can see from my photos was well furnished with lovely piping hot water in the bathroom. The room was nice and warm and the bed was lovely and comfortable; I...

Went for dinner as the restaurant at glazebrooks was shut on Monday. Has sausage dinner with choice of flavours of sausages, flavours of mashed potatoes and either cabbage or mushy peas, chose 3 different sausages. Two of which were close to being over cooked but the mash was great as was the veg. Worth a second visit wifi was available...

We stayed here for 2 nights while attending a folk festival. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food was very well cooked, and salads, fruit etc were very fresh. The portions were enormous. Our room was quiet and very comfortable and a good size, with a bath as well as a shower. My only issue was that...

The Public car park is a short walk away so the trick is to stop out the front, unload, then park. Our room was a good size, clean, with comfortable beds and so was the en-suite. Breakfast was everything you need. Dinner was available on the Sat night and nicely done. Unfortunately they don't do dinner on Sundays so we...

Great food with large portions and a friendly warm atmosphere. The function room was well decorated and the service was very efficient. A great evening celebrating a 50th Wedding Anniversary in a great pub. Plenty of clean plates confirmed whichever dish was ordered it was well received. Worth a visit if you are in the vicinity.

Well what can I say, I have the absolute pleasure of staying here for a few weeks whilst working in Devon and it is one of the best places I have stayed in years! The food is amazing, just what is needed after a hard days work or trek on the nearby Dartmoor, washed down with some of the finest...

We booked at the last minute and found it difficult to find anything on Valentines night. So we were very surprised to get a booking at The Oak. It’s a very nice pub that clearly wants to be taken seriously as a restaurant and it should be. I had scallops and my wife had the chicken bruschetta for starters, followed...

The oak as it is called by locals is a fantastic pub in a lovely village. The pub it's self is a real gem, good real ales tall tales (from the locals) and fantastic food. The royal oak is situated in the middle of the village and within spitting distance of the moors. If you need to get some where...

The Royal Oak is referred to "The Oak" by citizens of the oft-forgotten getaway on the cusp of Dartmoor between Ivybridge and Ashburton on the A38 called South Brent. There are three Inn options: the Pack Horse Inn (village-centre); Glazebrook House (modern luxury retreat outside the centre) and the Royal Oak Inn. Of these three options I find the Oak...
