Living in malton all my life i have always thought of the talbot hotel as a tad posh for a working class bloke . Boxing day this year without much warning my house flooded and all we had time for was a quick overnight bag and find a hotel (not the time of year to find somewhere short notice )...

we went to the talbot last sunday for a family christmas get together, which we had been looking forward to for a very long time. However we were bitterly dissapointed with the service. On arrival there was no warm welcome by the reception staff. we had the private dining room to ourselves which was great but the service was a...

We visited with a group of friends from our car Club. We had the entire dining room which was laid our specially for us. We met in the bar and lounge for pre-lunch drinks. The Christmas diner was excellent and there was plenty of it. The service was very good. A very enjoyable lunch.

My partner and I have recently spent a couple of nights at The Talbot Hotel. This was a Groupon deal at £199 for two nights in a double budget room including a bottle of champagne, a two course meal on the first night in The Brasserie and breakfast on both days. The room was very comfortable with super king sized...

We had a lovely overnight stay for our anniversary with our two dogs. The room was great, complete with dog bowls and beds. We received personal service from the manager David (as did every other guest!). The service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding - the dogs were even brought sausages for breakfast. We will definitely be going back.

I would never normally choose a turkey dinner for an Xmas party celebration and my experience at the Talbot confirms my view. For some reason the whole party of some 20 people all had to have the same menu . The game terrine was greasy and filling with only a few rocket leaves to help it down . The Turkey...

A brilliant experience and one that I can happily recommend. The food and service is simply great and I will definitely return again and again. The food is well seasoned and well presented.. It's affordable and a great experience as quick eats or something more formal.
