Stayed at The Lion & Swan recently for my partners birthday, fantastic location in the centre of town; bars/restaurants within walking distance, perfect. The hotel itself is very quaint, we stayed in one of the suites, just lovely, complete with 4 poster bed, jacuzzi bath and everything you need; kettle, fridge, TV etc. Had a fabulous nights sleep and a...

We enjoyed our stay; lovely big room, plenty hot water, homemade biscuits in the room, good cooked breakfast. Like any town centre it can be noisy at night. Check in staff were efficient, breakfast staff bright and breezy: no complaints. This is a hotel with character and surprises. The water bed was one of them. Very close to a host...

I stayed here in February overnight and it was ok room I suppose apart from staff being very rude. Definitely 0 star in customer service! Disappointed won't be staying again. Payed £75 just for the night and was appalled when I didn't get the service. No respect

Amazing staff, welcome and service! Tasty Sunday lunch, just like mum used to make and plenty of it. The atmosphere is warm and homely, plenty of room not sqashed in like sardines. Well recommended. Kids made really welcome also.

I'll start with the good points - read on it won't take long. Wifi password offered at check in, simple to log on and good access. Breakfast freshly cooked and hot. That's it. Bedroom simply shabby (nowhere near chic) and bathroom dated and in need of repair and lighting. Carpet dirty. Bed more like Zebedee (boing) and short and uncomfortable...

Hello Loutslife, I'll start with some good points about this hotel. We have a fantastic team of hospitable, friendly staff. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building in the centre of Congleton with 21 well maintained rooms and our food and kitchen is excellent. Our buffet food is cooked fresh in the kitchen and all produce is locally sourced....

The staff are welcoming but little else is at this hotel which is in need of TLC and money invested on it.The rooms are small and the en suite needs more expenditure. The bar is o.k. but I chose to eat out.

We had friends come from Corby for 3 nights on the 31st and especially to celebrate the New Year with us. Two courses of the 3 course meal were excellent and if you go for a meal you have to try the steak it was exceptional! Disappointed with the dessert as the Crème Brulee had not set and was just...
