Two nights in a regular room, without a kitchenette, with two queen beds. The room was adjacent to the stairs. We could hear guests going up and down the stairs repeatedly day and night because the steps were right behind the wall where our bed heads were. We could hear children running and shouting in the hallways during both days of the school break. The refrigerator made noise with a regular whistle. The outlets for charging phones did not work. We asked several times for the USB outlets to be repaired to charge our phones. This request was finally accommodated. Once we arrived around 2 p.m., we learned that early check-in was at 3 p.m. and late check-out would be at 12 p.m. We waited for the room to be prepared. We arrived for breakfast the day after our arrival, and the lady told us we would have to pay because it was not included in our package. I insisted a little, then I was finally told that it was included in the package amount. The breakfasts were varied in a buffet style, and we enjoyed them for two days. No complaints at that level. The gifts are in the room as promised. A marshmallow and a sweater promoting the hotel. I don't like to be offered a gift for my children that serves to promote the hotel that offers me the gifts. I am told I am picky. It reminds me a little of the time when I was offered a gift in a hotel in Quebec and then I saw a $26 charge for this gift on my bill... At the restaurant, we invited friends for dinner. We all took the set menu at $36. The food was not good. Mayonnaise on my son's burger even though we said no mayo. An employee tells me there will be an additional charge to correct their mistake. I insisted a little, then the correction was made for us. All the plates are 50% frozen fries. My wife's meal arrives 10 minutes after everyone else's. Her chicken parmigiana is cooked like cardboard. It's grotesque for an establishment that is supposedly 4 stars. My beef steak seems very small and possibly defrosted, yet I paid a $5 supplement on the set menu price for the privilege. The desserts are small and not memorable. You have to ask for coffee and tea at the end of the meal; it is not suggested or offered even though it is included on the set menu. The credit is not automatically applied to the bill. I feel cheated because the package clearly states that this credit is included. The manager tells me to check with the front desk when I check out. At checkout, I try to settle the account with the hotel, but I wait to see if they will apply the credit. And no! I have to ask again. This time, it's the front desk that tells me to go to the restaurant for the credit. I go to the restaurant, and I am told that only the manager can apply the credit and that she is not there. However, it is time to leave the hotel. I go for a swim and wait for the manager to call me back because I refuse to pay the bill. An hour and a half later, I receive the call. The credit will be granted! Another victory for me, but at what price? The small pool and spa are outdated, dirty, and the number of people in the pool far exceeds the standards. There are small children and parents everywhere. Impossible for an adult or a parent to enjoy a moment of relaxation. In summary, I did not enjoy the experience. At the price of $459 for two nights, plus $132 for dinner at a 4-star establishment, the bar should be raised. I found it either dishonest or incompetent on the part of the hotel to have to ask for everything I had paid for each time. This may be partly Tuango's fault, which serves as a third party between the consumer and the supplier. However, I can say that the children had fun running in the playroom.

Stayed here as a family of 4, my son having joined us after our stay at the nearby Manoir des Sables as a family of 3. We chose to switch to the Hotel Cheribourg for the 2 floor family room with sofa bed and our stay at the Manoir des Sables was so awful that our first thought upon entering our room at the Cheribourg was that we should have stayed there the whole time instead – BUT our opinion changed rather quickly! There was no issue with needing parking for 2 cars. I had already thought to ask for extra towels while checking in (the family room originally only had towels for 2) The Wi-Fi password was visible at the reception desk, and we were provided with a little pamphlet outlining the on-site activities. No info on the on-site restaurant or their menu, no info on the supposed included access to the Manoir des Sables private lake. 2 of us did a quick walk-through to locate the pools (towels were available by the indoor pool area) and game room. There’s a bar area by the outdoor pool but it was rather cold and drizzling when we were there, so it wasn’t staffed (not sure if it normally is), and the outdoor pool was deserted. Because of the drizzle we didn’t adventure to check out the petting zoo. The room was carpeted but the bathroom had been renovated and was clean. The sliding bathroom door was a pain to lock, a small wood handle had been added as an afterthought. The cable-only tv (no smart technology) had several channels. Things started to go downhill when we realised that to be able to open up the sofa bed, we’d need to move the tv stand – the room is poorly thought out, the sofa bed should really be on the wall where the chair is – guest shouldn’t be expected to move actual furniture to use the room! Further, with the sofa bed open, and with the tv stand pushed aside, it’s hard for anyone to access the bathroom. At about 3AM my husband and I were woken by a repetitive tapping sound, we couldn’t locate the source and eventually fell back asleep until it woke us again at around 6AM – this time we figured out that the sound was coming from WATER LEAKING IN THROUGH THE WALL-MOUNTED AIR CONDITIONING UNIT AND SOAKING THE BED DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH IT, the same bed where my daughter was sleeping! Who knows how many times this had happened before and what condition that mattress must be in! We were packed, checked out, and on our way to breakfast by 7AM – the clerk at the counter said she’d have maintenance take care of it, but no compensation for the inconvenience was offered. She probably isn’t authorised to do anything herself, but the overall lack of care and pro-active customer service by both the Cheribourg and the Manoir des Sables (owned by the same company) that we stayed at is very disappointing.

Terrible hotel for groups. We were a group of 8 children and 7 adults, during check-in, we received incorrect information about the breakfast. We were told that our group didn't need to make a reservation for breakfast and we when we went all together, the hostess screamed at us in front of all the other guests.

We went to Le Cheribourg because years ago friends had raved about how wonderful it was and what a good time they had. Well that was years ago now it is in desperate need of some TLC. It is desperate need of a renovation. We had requested a garden room but then I requested no stairs so we were moved out of the garden room which was more than fair and important to me. I needed no stairs. Some work was being done to set the gardens in preparation for summer a short month away. There was a micro Mini kitchen that was useful; the bed was very comfortable; the sofa was comfortable. It had everything it needed in a small space but the bathroom was minute & the tub was disgusting. First and foremost, carpeted floors are out and carry all sorts of cleanliness issues. The scratches on the walls were not painted over, there were huge gouges out of the wood. One of the light fixtures did not work properly. Light switches were reversed so they were further away from the actual light than they need, which could date back to the original build!!! Some little additions to the kitchen that would have made a huge, huge difference such as a paper towel holder and paper towels and small side plates so that you can have a sandwich. The fridge was better than anticipated and held a lot. There's a handle missing off for the closet I believe and the extra blanket that's provided for the sofa bed is full of holes for which there is NO EXCUSE!! There were no extra garbage bags and we were never offered any extras; never told how to get any towels or anything like that. The service was basically zero except for the front desk to take your money. We visited the main building. There was no evidence of any elevator whatsoever, so we never saw the pool because we both walk with canes and going downstairs is very difficult. Mobility issues have never been addressed here! Out of date by decades. There was a large group of workmen staying in our section. They packed up and left each morning in big trucks at 6 a.m. So much for sleep. Groups like that should be tucked away from the general well-paying guests. There was a general atmosphere of not caring, not taking pride, not taking interest not making an effort. I was really, really disappointed and it was not cheap I would never recommend it and I would never go back .... These are things that should not happen in a premiere hotel. These are things you expect on the overnight, side of the road motels. It was a very sad and a very expensive mistake ....

Perks: Hotel well located - Brunch is ok (weekends) - service is great - "spa" installations accessible to all - beds are comfortable. Bads: Pricey hotel - Noisy (thin walls) - Smell of motel rugs in the room - Small room Note: if you intend on sleeping here, I recommend that you rent is solo unit (they offer detached cabins from the main hotel complex) if you want a good night's sleep.

I will not recommend this place to groups. We were 17 people (9 adults & 8 children). At checking-in, we were told that we didn't need a reservation for breakfast, as it is a buffet. When we went for breakfast and we were trying to sit at tables that were close to each other, we were screamed at by the person in charge who told us that we couldn't sit where we wanted (although there were empty tables) and we were supposed to make a reservation since we are 17. During the check-out, we mentioned the incident and we were promised a call from the hotel's manager. Then, the lady came to apologize for her behavior, although, we appreciate and accepted her apologies, the hotel needs to make sure that accurate information is provided and also what is promised, as no one in our group has received the call from the manager.

Hotel Cherbourg Aug / 2020 I booked the family trip about a month in advance, and chose to stay at this beautiful Hotel because of the family friendly services that they offer and let me tell you we were not disappointed. We checked into the hotel, I had to go in by myself and wash my hands and wear a mask in the lobby, checking in was a breeze and I had booked the Deluxe king suite for my family to stay in. The staff was very friendly and switched into English right away, even though they didn’t have to. The grounds for the hotel are massive and offer such a wide arrange of things for the family to do, the kids were shrieking as we were going by the features. To start off they have a outdoor park two of them with swings, a pond with a paddle boat, a petting farm with a tennis court right beside it. It has a frog path with a net to catch frogs as well as an outdoor pool with a slide and a hot tub that felt amazing after the very long day there. They also have a indoor pool, hot tub and Sauna which was very nice to relax in. They also have a workout room and a huge gym that is full with a jungle gym, Trampoline bouncy toys, Foosball table and a few tv screens with video games hooked up to them. We were really happy with everything. To be honest we stayed at the hotel because of what they had to offer. It was perfect for the family and they loved everything the ground had to offer, We would go from outdoor park to indoor pool to indoor park to outdoor petting zoo (which had; Goats, sheep, rabbits and chickens). They have a ice machine and a microwave to warm up milk for your child or popcorn for movies in the room. The room (deluxe King suite) was a huge suite with two floors a very nice patio. The room also came with a Jacuzzi next to the king size bed on the second floor, we and the kids had a ball in this room. From blowing bubbles on the patio and watching the sunset to bubble baths in the Jacuzzi. There was more than enough space for the four of us. This was a vacation to always remember and is a great place with the family.

Clean and comfortable accommodations, with pretty grounds, near the Mt Orford national park. Room was not huge but certainly big enough for one person. There are two pools - one indoors and another outside with a water slide. The village has several good dining options a short walk away and the hotel restaurant itself serves a nice breakfast buffet. Great option for cyclists and families.
