The thing with the Highlands is that the rhythm of life happens at its own unrushable pace. So if you want to keep dashing along with high-speed travel, high-speed WiFi and high-speed entertainment, not only are you going to be sorely disappointed in what you find here, but you'll miss out on the delights that really are worth slowing down...

We travel looking for birds in Scotland. Andy knows about it and shows us some good places to visit near the hotel. He advised us the best way to do it considering the weather previsions. They make you feel as you are at home.

An excellent place to stay. We did so for 5 nights. Very hospitable. We cooked our own dinners in a well equipped kitchen. Breakfast was basic but enough. Porridge is always a good start to the day! Would stay again if in the area. Good base to explore from. Lots of helpful information to be found. Great wlaks & cycling...

All our correspondence /queries had been dealt with efficiently beforehand as Rebecca had said she would not be there to greet us and we were left in the very capable hands of Amie ,who worked very hard to make sure we were happy. Lovely evening meal and breakfast served before we set off on the Speyside Way

Just back from my fourth Highland walking holiday with Andy and Rebecca. They never cease to innovate at Fraoch Lodge (see the new wood pellet burner) or delight (yet more wonderful recipes cooked with pride). Rebecca and Andy are constantly on the look-out for ways of improving their offer while tirelessly keeping their eye on the ball. A real pleasure...

I booked the entire Lodge for a group of 14 people. It was very easy to find and run by very nice owners. All rooms were very clean and provided a perfect base from which we were able to access the local facilities in Aviemore and beyond. Arranging the booking was easy and all questions I had were very quickly...

Andy has a wealth of outdoor knowledge. Once he was happy that we were properly prepared, he made the overnight snow hole a real pleasure and very informative. The other night were spent comfortably in Froach Lodge, wth Rebecca providing the home comforts and plenty of nice things to eat.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We invite guests in to our home, Fraoch Lodge, to use as if it were their own. You can sit in our lounge in front of the open fire, join us for meals (or cook your own); share stories of your adventures or play board games. We have chosen not to put a TV into the Lodge, but instead supply games and books. We also offer guiding services for walks and tours around our local area showcasing places which enhance your knowledge of our area; some of which you may well not have heard about. We have a single room and a triple room, but most of our rooms are twins. 2 Rooms have private bathroom facilities. Some rooms can be combined to offer as family accommodation areas. We hope to see you in the Highlands of Scotland shortly. ... more   less
