A very charming and wonderful old building. As we were the only guests we were put in the adjacent cottage which was very warm, comfortable and spacious, much appreciated as the weather was not kind to us. Excellent breakfasts served to us in the dining room in the main house. Jennie, the owner, was most pleasant and welcoming and could not have been kinder....

Back again for another one night stay, this time staying in the Plum room. Warm with plenty of room and a modern en-suite makes this a sought after room. Breakfast was generous to say the least as it kept us going all day. The landlady even remembered us from last year. Book early or be disappointed.

My favourite place to stay. Amazing historic, thatched roofs, homely building filled with tasteful things. Plenty of space and very quiet at night. Lovely gardens, owls & gateway into the cemetery. This could be a National Trust property easily, I believe it's in the Doomsday Book. I've stayed here 5 nights in 3 different rooms, it's a very calm &...

We stayed at The Old Parsonage for two nights in the Groom's cottage. We felt the price for the accommodation was extremely good. The cottage was huge, nearly as big as our place at home! We have a 14 month old son and it is sometimes hard to relax in the evenings but here we had so much space we...

Take a step back in time to stay in a beautiful old building with a host that oozes hospitality and cooks a breakfast to keep you going all day. We only stayed for one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. Must make sure we book up early for next year.

Came across this out of the way Bed and Breakfast on a weekend when "Devon was full" Happy to recommend this modest but charming place to people looking for a taste of traditional Devon. And when you come, make sure you find out about the very special Pub which can provide a delicious Supper which will knock your socks off....

We spent two nights in Groom Cottage at The Parsonage during the heat wave of July. We were down there supporting my son who was riding in the Hatherleigh Junior Cycle Race. On both nights we ate at the Lymington Arms which is just 2 miles from Winkleigh and is owned and run by Jennie's family. Her welcome is very...

After nearly 2 years I returned to The Old Parsonage but stayed in a different room than before. On this occasion I was in the company of someone who appreciated everything that this glorious old building offers, (in addition to the warmth of the owner, Jennie). After a fabulous nights sleep my girlfriend said "I want to come back here...

Just needed a place for one night after a day's shooting, and there is a very limited choice in this part of Devon. But we lucked out. Despite passing the Old Parsonage in the dark while relying on SatNav, one of Jenny's neighbours kindly came out in the rain and directed us to the large old house. The guest rooms...
