We are doing a tour of the south and this was the most expensive, £75 a night, but this isn't really reflective on the room, which has a dated ensuit and needs a bit of TLC. It's an old house so obviously I understand you have to keep the feel to it, but it does feel like the communal areas...

You arrive down the gravelled drive to find the Court Barn Hotel: a hidden gem of a house, off the beaten track, from a time when house guests stayed for extended weekends and life was altogether calmer. The reception rooms have a solid, relaxed and slightly faded air. Books and country life magazines adorn comfy couches and window seats. Breakfast...

This was a little piece of paradise in Devon. Complete peace. Robert and Tim are lovely hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. We had dinner on both nights that we stayed and on both nights it was fabulous. My husband is diabetic and in the morning we requested a cheeseboard for him which was not on the menu. When we...

Slightly outdated decor and furnishing doesn't take away from the relaxing and comfortable feel of a private home. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings in a beautiful garden with lots of wildlife to see. Robert and Tim were welcoming and helpful hosts. We had dinner on the first evening which was excellent, lamb cutlets were very tasty and the veg was...

A delightful country hotel set in wonderful Devonshire countryside. Court Barn was once a vicarage and now a quiet and very comfortable small hotel. Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The hotel has a charming drawing, dining and breakfast rooms. Atmosphere is friendly and quietly informal with a feel of bygone times making for a very relaxed stay....

We stayed at the Court Barn for the Spring Bank Holiday. The food was absolutey excellent, the room was comfortable, if a little warm, and the surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. The decor in all rooms is fabulous and the grounds are big enough to take a relaxing stroll around, with bird song and scampering rabbits. Will return if we...

We stayed for one night and couldn't find fault in any way. It's a gorgeous period hotel with lots of character. On arrival we were greeted by Robert and Tim who were very accommodating. We stayed in the Superior Kingsize suite which was lovely, clean and bright, and had a great view! We enjoyed a glass of wine outside looking...

Stayed here for a couple of nights as I was working in the next town. This is a family run hotel so different to the square box rooms you get with a lot of places. All rooms are clean and individual in decor, the ground floor guest area has lots of interesting things, some may find it too crowded but...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and found Robert & Tim to be very welcoming and the hotel had a real homely feel. Our room was very comfortable, breakfast was really good and set us up for a 6 mile walk around the Bude area. We also had a lovely dinner on the second evening in their character...
