Spent a very comfortable and relaxing week at Theodora Studios. The accommodation and facilities are all excellent and the pool, bar area and gardens are very well kept. All the staff are efficient and friendly. Overall a lovely break and will definitely be returning next year.
This was our second stay at the Theodora; we were also here in September of 2017 and immediately booked to return. Again our room was basic but perfectly pleasant, tucked away in a corner with a lovely little terrace overlooking the gardens. We aren't much interested in the refurbished rooms (as beautiful as they are) because we just don't spend much time indoors, so if you are of a similar mind don't be afraid to have a basic room instead. Housekeeping staff work extremely hard and the room was cleaned daily except Sunday, and was always spotless. There are enough utensils to make a basic meal if you don't want to go out.
The pool bar area has had a makeover since last year and looks really lovely, and it's a pleasant place to eat breakfast or have an evening drink. They also provide basic meals in the evening which we heard from others were very nice. We've never used the pool (too many lovely beaches) so we can't comment, but it certainly always looks pristine. The bar is never overcrowded in the evening and has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. If we had after dinner drinks in the evening we spent our time sitting in the "naughty corner" (so named by Maggie!) outside by the pool because it was just such a nice quiet spot.
Speaking of the lovely Maggie, the Theodora would not be the same without her. I really feel she is the heart of this place; nothing is too much trouble. We didn't have a lot of interaction with the owners, but I really don't see an issue with this. We come away to spend some precious well-earned time together, and we don't feel the need to socialise with anyone at all beyond pleasantries. The Theodora is so peaceful and quiet it makes this easy.
All in all another lovely stay in a really beautiful place. We are returning next year.
We have been to Skiathos a number of times but we have just found ourselves a little gem. Near bus stop 15 set in peaceful surroundings with a tranquil atmosphere with two nearby sandy beaches also some fabulous restaurants within in 10-15 minute walk away the best value and quality by far was Maistrali (not easy to find ) and Jimmy’s ( not at all British very Greek ) . We found the rooms to be very clean with daily maid service, although we did not eat there everyone said how nice the food was, also the gentle humour in the bar area and atmosphere was very appealing. We did met a lot of people who have been coming here for years, we seem to meet them everywhere we go on all of the Greek islands, “They call it the boomerang island as you always come back" they all say this but I can understand why here. There is a bit of a walk up a steep hill but you don’t get views if you don’t climb up a bit. We would definatly recommend this, its typical Greek hospitality done with reserved flair.
We have just returned from a great holiday in the Theodora Studios in Kolios. The Theodora studios are located on a dirt track which is scattered with a few other apartments and restaurants. It’s a great location but the track is un-even so care is needed to be taken when waking. The studios, pool area and gardens are lovely and very well kept. Rooms are cleaned every day apart from Sunday’s. They studios have a big asset in the lovely Maggie who is a fountain of knowledge in the area and her coffees and Mojitos are brilliant
Cannot recommend the Theodora enough. Great for couples and if you just wanna relax in lovely surroundings. We would definitely go back.
We were staying across the road from here and decided to use the pool bar one evening.I went across to find out what time food was served until and was told 7 or 8 but the lady said they would rustle something up for us.Lovely bar,We had couple of Mythos,1/2 ltr house rose wine,Moussaka and Souzokakia.A lovely meal in peaceful surroundings.
The cases are dropped of separately by the van and the coach drops you at the bottom of the hill by bus stop 15 which is about a 10 min walk.
Was quite a pleasent quick trip same as taking the bus from town.
