Had a great time at Dona Ada Maria! Clean cozy rooms, very friendly staff. The food in the cafe is amazing! I liked the location relative to the beaches and the general atmosphere of the hotel - we felt at home. Many thanks to the team that makes the hotel such a pleasant place to live in. We will be happy to come again! We recommend it to everyone!
I have booked room for 4 days. Location is nice around 15 mins walking distance from beach. Good clean hotel n friendly staff. The hotel was very good for the money paid. We simply enjoyed the stay and lovely food. Thanks to Mr Serafino and Mr Sameer. Great place to stay if u want to explore South Goa.
My family came to the Dona in February and we had the most amazing time I had an 11 and 4 year old with us who had the best time of their life. The staff are the most amazing people who we have met who treated our kids like there own. The other guest who are regular holiday makers at this hotel welcomed my kids with open arms even when they where cannon balling in the pool they would cheer the boys on. Amazing food, drink and banter
FANTASTIC! If you want the true Goan experience you must stay here. I have stayed in many locations in Goa but this is by far the best. Rooms beautifully clean, service impeccable, great pool area and the best part was THE FOOD! Amazing home style Indian cooking available from this hotel. Some of the best food I have eaten in India. A short scooter ride to the beach (the neighboring property rents scooters at a very competitive rate, and any further you need to travel the front desk can arrange a taxi no hassle) Strongly recommend if you’re looking for a great authentic experience with modern comforts.
This was our third visit to this wonderfull hotel, just arrived back home after 21 brilliant days,a big thank you to Purie,Serafino,Anita and all the staff,if you want a small and friendly hotel were you will be made very welcome look no further,Hotel Donna Sa Maria is like a magnet, once you've been you just want to go back, that's why guests return year after year, this year new extra thick bed mattresses have been fitted in all the bedrooms, this was a request from clients, anything you ask for at this hotel is no problem to the management and the staff, you aren't just a guest at this hotel you are part of the family, will definately be back in 2020.
A very basic hotel with lovely food and staff Serafino takes his time to talk to his guests. This was our second visit to the Dona Sa Maria and will certainly not be our last. It's a great place to stay if you want to explore Goa.
well what can i say about dona sa maria it was so chilled out it felt like we had been away for more than 2 weeks. we got there at around 3.30am and was met by 2 of the young lads that work there who took our cases and gave us a bottle of water our room was basic but we expected it as it is a 2 star rating however our room had a overhead fan, air conditioning a tv, fridge and kettle with tea and coffee facilities. The room was cleaned daily it was spotless, there is only 1 key for the room so if you dont hang it up then your room isnt cleaned. Breakfast is toast and jam tea and coffee and fruit juice they have a menu for breakfast which you pay for but is very reasonable the omlettes are very good and lots of cheese in if you want cheese, the lunch menu is again very good as is the evening menu and all reasonably priced. The staff are amaizing very friendly and helpful. Serifino the hotel owner has a lot of time for his guests and has guests returning on a yearly basis Annetta who works on the reception always has a smile and a friendly welcome when you see her. Mahesh who works in the bar is a lovely young gentleman and has 2 lovely children his little girl always waves and says hello when she sees you. All the boys who work there are always smiling and say hello when they see you. Serifino really looks after his property the pool is spotless and lovely and warm and the gardens are spotless its even nice to see and here the chickens in the garden and the 3 dogs that are owned by Serifino. Annetta will call you a taxi if you want to go into town as its around a 40 min walk it costs 300 rupees about £3 depending on the rate you get and the beach is about a 30 min walk but it is never crowded. Some people i have seen have slated this hotel but you get what you pay for if you want 4 star then pay for it which are in cavalossum town and it is busy Dona Sa Maria is a perfect base very quiet and relaxing i wasnt into going to Goa but my husband always wanted to go so i decided yes i would try it, would i go again yes in a flash would i stay at Dona Sa Maria again yes i would the good thing is that your flight home is a late one and you can keep the room on if its available normally you have to be out of the room for 6pm in other places but Serifino allows you to have it right up untill your transport picks you up for the airport. If you want to party every night dont go to south Goa its laid back. A big thankyou to all at Dona Sa Maria i hope to be back soon.…
when we first arrived and were shown our room to be honest I didn’t much like it, a ground floor room which seemed dark and cramped, however the beds were clean and comfortable and we decided to see if we could change rooms the next day. To be honest I don’t like a ground floor room, I always look forward to a private balcony when on holiday in Goa. I know this is personal choice and not the fault of the hotel. The next day we met the owner Serafino and he couldn’t have been kinder or more gracious, straight away we were offered a lovely, light, spacious room with private sunshiny balcony. From then on we had a simply great time, yes it’s a basic hotel but everything was clean, comfortable and well run. The pool area was beautiful and peaceful set in a pretty garden, in the evening everything twinkled with fairy lights, it is a very much loved and well cared for hotel. I often don’t like hotel food, and we did think we would probably eat out most nights but the food at the Dona sa Maria was far better than I expected, we’re veggie and there was such a brilliant choice, all well cooked, tasty and served piping hot. It’s a beautiful part of Goa, so peaceful, the beach is just stunning, soft white sand, you can walk for miles, no crowds but enough beach shacks to choose from. You can walk to Cavelossim one way or Varca the other. There’s also local buses running to Benulim or Margao. The roads are quiet and you could hire scooters or bicycles, although we didn’t bother, we loved our walks and bus rides. Thanks to Serafino, Puri, Anita and all the staff, we had such a lovely time. Hope to see you all again one day. Helen xx…
Our first trip to India but will definitely return here. Small friendly hotel, excellent service & food. It’s not 5* but you’re not paying 5* prices. Everything you need , clean, good food & atmosphere. Good location quiet, rural but with in easy reach of beaches & other areas. Excellent keep up the good work
Third visit to this small family run hotel which is situated in peaceful rural surroundings about a 20 min walk from Zalor Beach. The rooms are fairly basic with some which have been upgraded, depending on what you want. Rooms cleaned every day and towels etc replaced. The restaurant food is excellent and all the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Pool area is clean, quiet and peaceful. Would thoroughly recommend for anyone who wants a quiet hotel in the country, excellent bird watching all round. Staff are happy to book taxis to Cavelossim or anywhere else, boat trips etc. My husband had his 80th birthday there last month and the owners and staff surprised us with a cake and fireworks!!
