We have been to Goa numerous times, but our this is the furthest South we have been. Purie, one of the owners is very friendly and the staff are very helpful. The rooms are basic but look newly decorated and clean. There's free air con and a ceiling fan. Also a free safe in the room and a fridge with reasonably priced drinks. Each room has a torch which is necessary when going out at night - so no need to take your own as we did.
Dona Sa Maria is surrounded by fields and a few houses. If you turn right our of the hotel there are several restaurants within a 10 min walk, plus another over the crossroads, making cheaper alternatives to eating at the hotel.
Cavelossim is about 40 minutes walk and the road is windy and dark at night and in the countryside which is challenging in heat and at night. Many people who stay hire bikes to get around which is cheaper than paying taxis and gives more freedom. A bus can be accessed from the main road which goes between Cavelossim and Margoa. We walked to Cavelossim along the beach once, however the military were doing artillary practice so we had to keep stopping until we were told it was safe to continue. We could not find out if this is a permanent issue and were given different answers from various people. We had hoped to walk a few times, but this was sadly not possible.
The hotel provides good exchange rates the same as it was when we went to Colva.
Another thing to note is there's no plug in the sink.
There's not alot of storage space in the bedrooms, but I overheard that lockers can be supplied if you ask.
I recommed staying here, as any visitors are repeat customers. There's lots pf wildlife aound and the beach is not too far away to walk or the hotel provide a car for Rs100 each journey.

Booked a last minute deal with TUI and we are so glad we stayed at this lovely hotel.
Rooms only small but adequate and this hotel is spotless in every area.
Lovely pool area with plenty of comfortable sun beds.
Restaurant on site serving very good food and drinks with excellent staff on hand who make sure you enjoy your experience.
The hotel is just outside Cavelossim centre which means a 40 min walk or a taxi costing 350- 500 rupees.
In the village there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from serving a wide range of meals consisting of fish, curries,Chinese
Italian and European.

A return visit to this lovely hotel after over 20 years...it was as welcoming and wonderful as I remembered but with more home comforts like aircon, mini bar (very reasonably priced) TV and safe. Once again Serafino and Purie, now backed by lovely members of staff, made us feel very welcome and were available to help at all times. The restaurant staff in "the Goan Tribe" with its excellent menu made mealtimes a pleasure and there was food available for old biddies like me who really don't want anything too spicy! Also Vanessa (the oracle) on the reception desk was fantastic, providing money exchanges, taxis, help and advice on many things. We booked through Tui who told us that there would be no rep. at the hotel...imagine our surprise and delight when the excellent Karen came every morning to problem solve and book excursions etc. If you are looking for a personal happy holiday this is the place to go. Its no wonder people go long stay and year after year. Thank you Dona Sa Maria! Forever in my heart!

A very honest ( in my opinion ) warts and all review . Firstly on arrival we were given our room key and i remembered why we said many years ago we would never book a 2 star hotel in Goa again first impression very basic hardly any storage space and the balcony room 204 was right next to 202 with no privacy but we asked the owner if we could change rooms she was lovely and said in the morning as soon as possible we could change so we moved to 201 with a respectful gap to the next room .Wifi was awful. Now for the pluses and there were many there was free aircon and fan room safe a well stocked in expensive mini bar / fridge , tea and coffee facilities replenished daily .The pool was nice with decent sunbeds and a restaurant .Another big plus for this hotel was the breakfast not just the usual tea/coffee / juice toast and jam but also eggs of various forms the poached were particularly good and also omelettes included .Lastly and by no means least the setting fields countryside all around just wonderful . Gracious hosts great 2boys at breakfast big smiles thank you for a lovely memorable holiday .

Except hosts as usual and another fantastic stay keep on doing what your doing. Food and accommodation excellent and the staff are so attentive it helps make a pleasure to stay with you. Nothing is ever an issue from booking taxis making suggestions regarding things to do and see. We will most definitely be back to stay again with you. A big shout out to Serafino and of course the delightful Purie, sharpen your fishing skills for our return 😂

Sadly we are on our last day at this lovely small hotel, we were made so welcome as soon as we arrived, The rooms are fairly small but had everything that we needed, they were cleaned every day.
The hotel has great pool which we enjoyed in the late afternoons after a day lazing on the beach which is a 30 minute walk away.
The resturant serves good food which we enjoyed many times served by fun and friendly staff.
Actually the staff really make this hotel a great place to stay and hopefully we will retun one day

We spent a week here just before Christmas. It really is a fantastic place to stay. It is a family run hotel, and the owners are always around and happy to chat, and provide information. There seems to be a lot of repeat and long stay guests, which is of course a compliment to the hotel. It is situated in a quiet area, with just a couple of evening restaurants close by. However the hotel restaurant is amazing with great food and service, and very reasonable prices. Cavelossim is around 45 mins walk from the hotel, and the nearest beach around 20 mins walk the other way. Rooms are small and basic, but most importantly clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Had a great time at Dona Ada Maria! Clean cozy rooms, very friendly staff. The food in the cafe is amazing! I liked the location relative to the beaches and the general atmosphere of the hotel - we felt at home. Many thanks to the team that makes the hotel such a pleasant place to live in. We will be happy to come again! We recommend it to everyone!

We had an excellent stay here . Very relaxing with a lovely pool and restaurant and a peaceful beach around 20 mins walk away.
Granted the rooms are quite basic but you have everything you need. The staff go out of their way to make your stay comfortable . I want to thank Serafino and Puri the owners, Sam the manager ( for having the cooks prepare some great Goan meals for us ) and the efficient Vanessa in reception and of course the wonderful restaurant staff Gulab and Dipak and the team and not forgetting the cleaning team.
We had such a memorable time- the staff even arranged a birthday cake with candles for me ! X
We will definitely be returning as do other folks year on year .

There is a kettle in the room. Water is provided FOC in the room, there is also a mini bar in the room. There is a little kiosk a couple of minutes away, but the nearest shops are around 30 mins walk. A couple of local restaurants within 15 mins walk. The beach is around 20 mins walk with a couple of shacks. Plenty of shacks In Cavelossim.
