Leopard Beach Resort & Spa comes highly recommended for its friendly service, though some guests encountered inconsistency. Nestled in a serene beachside location, the resort offers a range of praised amenities, from well-kept grounds to diverse dining and lively entertainment.
While the atmosphere is vibrant with live music and dancing, opinions on value are mixed due to extra costs and limited all-inclusive options. Rooms are typically spacious and clean with effective air conditioning, yet a few guests have mentioned maintenance and cleanliness concerns.

We received a lovely warm greeting from the reception staff, who kindly upgraded our standard room to a beautiful bungalow with sea views and a pretty garden.
All staff from housekeepers to managers were attentive, professional, warm and welcoming during our stay, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is set in a perfect location for a relaxing beach holiday , the main restaurant overlooks Diani beach which is a piece of paradise, beautiful white sands and clear waters. Furthermore the hotel grounds are beautiful, lovely well maintained gardens and waterfalls.
The food was delicious , the entertainment was magical, the singer was so talented and we were blown away by him, such a lovely gentleman who we enjoyed singing along with.
All staff worn face masks and took hand hygiene very seriously and maintained social distancing , Kenya has done so well at keeping the pandemic under control, numbers are extremely low in comparison to most countries, therefore we felt safe at all times.
I would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend it to our friends and family.
Thank you again to ALL STAFF at LBR for a wonderful stay.

It is just ingenious to write incorrect facts in the 10% Poor and Terrible reviews.
I cannot speak for the huts, since I stayed in a room, which is very clean, bright, functional and with all amenities in working order.
The food is balanced, varied and fresh in the breakfast and dining area. The lunch place has two menus to choose from a varied and a pizza menu.
The place is vast with a lot of open spaces with a large amount of sitting space. This place like many other I've seen on the coast do carry the burden of the impact of Covid, so you might find some shops closed. As an example, only 2 of 40 vendors on the beach are in business, the locals are really suffering, so to you 10% angry people, practice some empathy.
The statement that the food is horrible, must account for the fact that no junk food is served.
As for the statement that the beach is 500 meters away is a lie, its 50 meters away from the lobby. You can walk down the stairs from the pool straight into the ocean.
If you are upset about sea creatures, buy some shoes next time you go in the ocean or stay in the pool.
The service is great, people are kind, attentive and helpful, possibly not enough for the angry 10%?
It is not a 5 star place but it is a very good 3 star, average 4 star establishment.
The only thing that does not work is the wifi in the block I stayed at, simply abysmal performance.
I did not miss sparkling water at the espresso bar, who drinks that with coffee ??
The place is NOT run-down, it is of age but well maintained

After a lengthy journey from the UK our welcome really was, most welcome.
Fruit juice and cold towels.
Check in was uneventful and our room was ready when we arrived.
The first day, and part of the second, we found the most direct routes to the various parts, as opposed to meandering without a map.
Staff are friendly and courteous. Jambo to everyone.
Food was absolutely first class. Lots of choice, and the best tasting vegetables I have ever tried. I even passed on the meat dishes a couple of times.
The dining expeience unfortunately spoiled by a shortage of essentials. Cutlery, crockery, glasses and napkins always missing. Only a couple of times in the fortnight did we find a table fully laid.
This really isn't good enough!
In our second week there was a noticeable uplift in guest numbers. This wasn't matched by an uplift in staff. Restaurant service dropped off significantly.
Would we return? Unfortunately not, but only because the world is getting smaller and there are so many other places to see and experience.
Would we recommend this hotel to a friend? Absolutely, 100% yes.
We will remember our stay forever. The good experiences far outweighed the shortcomings and we wish all the staff good things for the future.
And if you like monkeys, they come out to play about 4.30pm each day.
Beware of the beach sharks though. Contrary to what the rep tells you, they don't take 'no thank you' and some you will have to be quite rude and forceful to.
They are an absolute nuisance.
We booked our safari though Polmans and had an excellent guide and comfortable vehicle for the two days.
Others who booked through the beach sharks found themselves in cramped minibuses, and discovered that they had to check in again on their return as they had not booked through the recognised tour reps.
A case of you get what you pay for.

Leopard Beach is an excellent property on the Kenyan beach, but the management is a total mess.
Upon arrival, It seems as though they aren’t very much concerned with social distancing; wearing masks isn’t made mandatory in public places and the restaurants don’t have a viable serving system.
The villas are a really good concept but staying there can be made so much better if the service is improved. The management needs to understand that when they advertise a luxury villa service, with the price tag on it, they have to deliver. On our first day they tried to pull one over on us as the pool pump was broken. A pool cleaner told us “there were chemicals or we can use the common pool near by”. It took one and a half days of us constantly complaining for them to ‘reluctantly’ replace it.
The food quality and menu as well is no where near a property of this standard.
After all the time they wasted of ours, we requested to leave our villa 45 minutes later than the checkout time. The managers began to complain. Very unprofessional.
Regret visiting the place. Never going back again unless the management pulls their act together.

Dear Sheil, Seasons greetings from Leopard Beach Resort . I have noted your comment on service, the broken pump and that you were not allowed to check in late which I regret. We will continue to do all that we can to close any gap that you experienced. You may appreciate late check out may have been a change with another guest waiting to check in. We adhere strictly to the covid protocols and if a guest may have faulted this then it will be more of an exception than a rule as we understand fully the fundamentals. I thank you for raising your point of displeasure and we will continue to do everything that we can to in this regard. Kind Regards, Kioko Musyoki General Manager Leopard Beach Resort.

This resort is a complete disappointment.
It is lacking class in its deco, in its offers, in its services. It is for me part of the (too many) former heavyweight champion hotels/lodge/resorts you can come across in kenya that only count on their past glory days, and did not renew themselves.
Common areas are heavy on the eye and shout for a new design (revamping was done recently, really??)
Layout is complicated and unpleasant:
You go accross several shop/bars/coffee areas that all looked closed at the time.
The inside cascade and what is supposed to be a fountain gives the impression to cross a swamp.
You will not be rewarded by your little adventure across the swamp, once arrived at horizon restaurant : welcoming is inexistant. Breakfast and dinner food is horrendous, its variety and choice pathetic and is similar to an all inclusive cheap poor quality hotel that you can find elsewhere in Diani few minutes from there.
Rooms buildings are like dormitories, and there is no charm, no warmth in the rooms (they are clean let me give one kudos). Do You know that “wow” you can have in some nice hotel when the personal opens for you the first time your room? It wont happen there. These room are...neutral, functional and impersonal. At least, the room are not “heavy” like the rest of the hotel (second kudos).
Swimming pool area: looks rundown, and is all concrete: an originally poorly designed and now not well maintained place.
To add to this, so many details going wrong: espresso machine available, but no capsules, no sparkling water available at main restaurant at diner service, water smelling sewage, shower heads blocked (30% of streams working), shower inundating the rest of the bathroom, worn downed menus illustrated and laminated as in an un-franchised corner street fast food joint, ice cubes unsafe for consumption, and so on....
Service is discreet at best.
This hotel does not deserve its stars.
Mediocre. Will never recommend it. Avoid it, simply.

I booked and spoke to the reservation team via email and follow up calls prior to my arrival. Upon check in, I was rudely told by the staff that they were busy! Infuriated, I asked whether they had availability of rooms as it was a long weekend that encompassed a national holiday. The staff then went to confirm and left my family and I in the lobby for 45 min. I asked if there was an issue with the accomodation to which they replied no. Upon insistence, I asked whether we could sit on one of the lounges and partake in drinks as they sorted our rooms. Kindly note, that we were on an all- inclusive package. They agreed. That was a lapse on their end because they should have suggested it to us as way of being hospitable after keeping us waiting in the lobby.
We proceeded to the lounge and shortly after we were asked to return to the reception to check in and informed that we would receive a free upgrade to the Residence villa which was breathtakingly beautiful. I paid in full. We were a party of 5 and one of us missed their flight. I informed reception and they asked me to speak to the cashier. I shared with him and he reassured me that all was ok and we could use the funds for missed occupancy as a credit note. We had a beautiful beach dinner which the hotel had organised for its guests.
The next day, I go to the restaurant for lunch and there was no transition from the entry point to the buffet. I saw 2 line chefs place salad bowls and asked whether I could serve. They just looked at me and walked away! Not one response! I was shocked and dejected! I sat down at one of the tables and waited to see other guests served then proceeded to serve myself. Of note, during my continued stay, I had to capture the attention of the waiters to set cutlery, napkins or take my drink order after 10-20 min of serving. Sometimes the buffet would run out of particular dishes and I would ask if it was to be replenished only to be surprised by the staff remarking that I should have gone for my meals early enough (ie) be at the buffet immediately they start service!!! Another told me that their numbers increased as they were hosting guests from a seminar! Really!! I was on an all-inclusive package! Yet on both occasions they weren't at full capacity! I don't understand how food could get finished during service and they are complacent about it! I complained to the manager and he took me to the pizza terrace restaurant for a free meal.

Little dubious when booking due to poor reviews but the photos drew me in, we bit the bullet and booked.
Not sure why the reviews were as we read but the place we went was absolutely out of this world. The hotel itself is set in stunning gardens, the room’s were bright, airy, well presented and kept beautifully clean by the room attendants. The facilities offer a pool that looks into the white sands I’d the beach below, two private spots on the beach to relax and unwind. In the multitude of bars and restaurants placed around the site, you will be greeted by a plethora of smiling faces and warm greetings.
The food, the hotel, the country and the people are amazing………….. truly awesome xx

we strayed for 16 nights here , well what can i say , some staff are absolute stars from Christine from the entertainment team and the sun bed , towel man , and the young ladies that were training , in the main restaurant and beach bar , are fantastic , some of the older man that served are very slow , and forgetful , we waited for 1.5 hour for coke and water on the beach , and evening dinner 1 night we managed to have starters and main meal , and still never got served with drinks at all ! younger keener and fitter staff are required , some staff are very polepole polepole and do not seem to care, enthusiasm of youth is needed for waiting and bar staff , as the trainee staff served 6 to 8 times more people than the older male staff very slow and uninterested. The hotel overall is fine , rooms are not cleaned to a great standard and we had a broken toilet seat for all 16 days , the beach front is fine and the beach boys are not a problem , just talk to them , as you would like to be talked too and they are fine , i spent an hour a day every day chatting with them , nice people , the grounds have lots of monkeys around , well it is Africa and they were there before the hotel, i did witness a silly lady chasing a monkey , whom had taken a bottle of sun tan location , and chased the monkey and grabbed the sun tan location of the monkey , which the monkey took this as an attack , and bite the lady on the ankle ,but your are warned not to leave your possessions out , and was it worth chasing and confronting this small monkey for a bottle of sun tan location , crazy , just buy another one , sad for the monkeys, as from that day 12 febuary the security guards chased and shot at the monkeys with catapults, just because of 1 persons stupid behaviour.
the wildlife in the grounds are a great asset to the hotel , the bushbabies and fruit bats at night and the monkeys by day , were all there before the hotel was built and should be embraced ,with care, as this is Africa not Europe but all in all loved our stay ,

After a week on Safari and two days in Mombasa, visiting old haunts and my fathers grave it was a relief to arrive at the Leopard Beach Resort. Our check in was good except we were not able to get into our villa from 11am our arrival time till 4.45pm, in all fairness the hotel allowed us the use of another villa but it still would have been much better if we could have unpacked and settled in our villa after so many early starts and lots of travelling. We were on an all inclusive basis which was fine, having the villa allowed us to dip into the hotel facilities as and when we felt like but were able to retreat to the privacy and tranquility of the beautiful two bedroom villa with a pool. Everyone at the hotel was charming and friendly and any problems were dealt with without delay. The food was excellent considering it is mass catering, a bit repetitive but the salads, curries etc were fresh and delicious. On the evenings of BBQ meat it was good. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to walk unhindered along the beach for a good few kilometres, I just politely used some of my rusty Swahili and was left in peace and quiet. Marco's bar has a wonderful setting and a good atmosphere and we had no problems with any of our drinks, we tended to stick to Beer and Gin and Tonics. It was a shame that we were not informed about the dress code for men in the evening at the restaurant but my husband and son managed with their one pair of long trousers! I had two good sessions at the Spa and am happy to recommend it. All in all it was the perfect end to our holiday and we certainly needed the nine days to chill out and enjoy all on offer. Thank you all the staff for making our holiday so enjoyable and for me especially the kindness and warmth of the Kenyans is as strong as ever.

Don’t look on number of stars. This is definitely not a 5-stars hotel, even common for 3-stars hotels thing are not available here: only 2 very old towels were in the room, there is no hot water during the day, always problems with towels on the beach. All towels are holey!
Pillows are not comfortable at all.
Beach is ok, but 500 meters away is much better. Shore is full of sea urchins!!!
Food is ok, but almost the same everyday.
