This apartments are really well located not far away from shopping (careful ) and local Markets . From one apartment we have 1 minute to the beach where view is just breathtaking. Great staff , everyone are superb and very helpful. Housekeeping are great too. Wifi ok you can check your emails and messages not very strong to talk but that’s ok. In general nice place😀
It’s so easy for the hotel to tell the Wi-Fi is for free. It was NOT working. So if you think you shall stream movies; FaceTime, WhatsApp eg. Forget about it. If you are lucky it works in the reception. Such a run down place. It really needs an investment to get back to business. Hard for the house keeping to make it look like clean when it’s so run downed. The service is terrible. I’m a pilot and have been to many places. This is one of the worst ever. The hotel provide breakfast from 07:00 am. They are never ready before 07:30 am - 07:45 am. If you are looking forward to a Conditional Breakfast forget about it. The restaurant is terrible. The food they are serving is not ment to be for humans. It’s disgusting. You will have a lot of street cats around your legs to give them the food. I would NEVER come back. But I will come back to Diani Beach. Security guys. You are doing a really good job.…
My wife and I had to come to Diani for a medical surgery at Diani hospital. When she was getting out of the hospital we needed a place to stay I went to Bahari Dow and put half the deposit down (67500 ksh). We were going to come the next day, but things changed and we had to cancel. They said no problem you will get your refund in 2 days. Then it became two weeks. I had to constantly call and find out where things were at. I was told several times I would have it on a certain day and then nothing. I paid the deposit on April 9th, I got half of the payment on May 3rd, I just got my second payment on May 15th. One of the excuses was he forgot!!! Seriously, If I owed them money and waited that long they would of been after me. I highly suggest you stay away from Bahari Dow when you come to Diani.…
Bahari Dhow is still an excellent example of a reasonably priced south coast Kenyan restaurant and bar. There were at least eight wind surfers, ample seating, exceptional (and inexpensive) meal. GREAT service (even called me a tuk tuk). I only visited (not a stay), but dont miss it. The beauty (other than the waitresses) of it is, watching the peaceful ocean tide change and NO "beachboys" selling junk. Dont mis this affordable diamond.
The bahari dhow was a good place to go a few years back but its in bad shape now. I would not recommend visiting with family at all as it will cause alot of inconveniences. Listing down the negatives below: 1.SAFETY HAZARD! We were shocked to the site of an empty pool almost 7 to 8 feet deep with only a mere tape barricade going round it! Its a shame and very irresponsible of the management to be this careless. With kids running around an accident is just in the waiting and it could be fatal. We were not even informed of the out of order pool. 2. FILTHY POOL! Given the current covid conditions, the least the management could do is maintain hygiene. The only adult pool had greenish merky water that was clearly dirty with alot of debris all over. The pool attendant did carry out a so called cleaning but it was just a waste of time. Swimmers complained of itching after soaking in. Very bad maintenance and an eye sore! 3. Lack of shade around pool area. The pool area lacks any form of shade and the water is very unpleasantly hot during the day. It gets so hot that one would simply just avoid the area. A good shaded portion will do alot of good. 4. Terrible villa facilities: No doubt the villas are amazing and comfortable but the lack of basics spoils the stay. Our villa had no cutlery,no dish washing equipment, not even a single spoon! The water pressure in the shower was weak. The stove was partially working, the tv had no stations and the ones that worked were the most basic ones. The rooms tvs had nothing working. The house keeping staff was very limited and we had to wait till the afternoon to get the place cleaned. 5. Restaurant; inconsistent taste, bad service. The Restaurant offers good food but are very inconsistent. On our first day we had good food although the service is very very slow. The staff are very disorganised and you may end up talking to 2 or 3 people till you get your order placed. Stay away from the calamri rings( tasted like rubber) also the food portion isn't that good. 6. Generally slow service. The staff respond very slowly to any requests. Some of our requests were not even met and the reception didn't even bother to follow up These were the major issues. The safety hazard and pool condition were inexcusable! The good about the place is as below; 1.Close proximity with supermarkets 2. Villas are comfortable. …
I am very disappointed came all the way from South Africa to enjoy the festive season at bahari dhow, but my experience has not been good, waited for hours untold to be served as l saw other 'privileged white' customers be served first, customer service very poor, but the food is AMAZING.I don't recommend
The setting of these villas is very good. All of them very close to the beach and facing the three swimming pools which are big but could be cleaner. The rooms are a bit old and could be improved. Kitchen are not equipped and difficult to cook. The beach does not have enough beach umbrella and in this point the beach is not very big and nice as elsewhere in Diani. The food at the beach restaurant is good (seafood and local dishes) but the breakfast is not top. Would recommend it for groups that are on budget with not very high expectations.
Visited Bahari Dhow on a Sunday afternoon for lunch & drinks. There was a live band, and the service was good. It got a little packed as the evening went on, but that just means it's a popular spot for Sunday afternoons. The beach & view is also good.
Our villa at the Bahari Dhow far exceeded our expectations ! It was beautifully furnished and had air-conditioned bedrooms ! Steps from the pool, ocean and restaurant, it was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful ! Would recommend to anyone travelling to Mombasa/Diani Beach !
I was at the Bahari in Diani Beach only for 3 days, but they where more then enough to feel the real vacation spirit! The rooms are very good, the pool is amazing and the beach is also wonderful! The only annoying comment that I would include is the people who come to sell you stuff when you are outside of the hotel area, without that, it was everything amazing!
