This historic hotel is right at the heart of Sokhumi and is on a no through road. There are good views of the Black Sea and this handsome street. From first site the hotel looks very smart and much of it is in very good condition, having seemingly been refurbished recently. However, the room I stayed in was rather shabby....

This is probably Sukhumi's most famous hotel now over 100 years old. It is a very elegant buuilding and hotel in terms of its architecture and style. Sadly despite it's famous reputation, the glitz and glamour of its style/design and stories of the famous wh stayed here the present day standards in terms of service and comfort are very poor,...

Ritsa hotel is in the heart of Sukhum, close to the main restaurants and cafes. However, I was very disappointed by the staff working there who didn't speak a single word in English (Communication was extremely difficult). The service was also very bad and the breakfast very basic. This was definitely not even a 2 stars hotel!!!

When the hotel contacted me by e-mail regarding a deposit several days before my arrival (they do not accept foreign credit cards) I called the hotel directly to arrange for the payment. I was told by the front desk staff that it will not be necessary after all – I can...

This hotel is at one of the best locations in Sukhumi, at the end of the beach front promenade and also at the beginning of the metropolitan center, where most of the city halls and government buildings and downtown buildings are located. The wifi did not work while i was here, but no worry, the old fashioned cavernous cafe-restaurant across...

While I cannot compare with other hotels in Sukhumi, this hotel has the reputation of the best hotel in the city. The White and gold facade are quite grand as are the marble staircases and foyer. The rooms are clean and comfortable with airconditioning. This hotel was very friendly and service orientated. Despite what some guide books say- they really...
