Horrible breakfast. Made us wat burnt dosas with Ketchup with the guy serving Bread touching scratching his body etc and then serving toasted break with bare hands. 2 items for breakfast. Rooms without proper AC and lack of staff. Parking is horrible for SUV. Sad ambience. Centrally located thouythats the only good thing
To begin with the property is large and decor is old school, which means the rooms/ bathrooms/ lobbies are quite spacious. The downside to it is that if you DO not maintain these large spaces they tend to emit a very negative, unhygienic and shabby look which is what has happened in this hotel. The obvious reason for this lack of Basics stems from the fact that the Owner is not interested in maintaining the property and has decided to run this with skeletal staff. Everyone at the hotel does at least 4 different roles, the Watchman becomes the server in the shabby unclean restaurant, the bellboy is also the housekeeping person....you would be surprised but i even saw the Manager scrubbing the tiles of our room when he was granting it to us. It was a pitiful sight, but full marks to the entire staff which went way beyond their call of duties to run an otherwise squeaking machine which seemed to die every passing moment. The breakfast spread with limited to 4/5 items with a different menu every day, but the ingredients prepared to make the food were darn right Cheap. So pl avoid the Breakfast. So to conclude go to this hotel only if you have no other choices or if you plainly want to support this humble staff more of our generosity than expecting decent hospitality standards.…
The plus point of the location is that, this hotel is at walking distance from Railway station and ST (bus) stand. It's a very basic, budget hotel. Rooms are ok. They have breakfast buffet with two items. They also serve fruits and bread-omlet.
This is an average hotel at a prime central location. Rooms are good enough and appear to have been renovated recently, but toilets are not maintained properly. The hotel restaurant is highly understaffed leading to unsuitable service. Food quality is also very very average. Limited parking space is available.
I stayed here for 1 night . Room was spacious. Breakfast was good with option for Fast ( Khichadi, fruits ) . Service was good. Front desk was helpful. Reasonable rates not so expensive (mid range). Housekeeping was good. parking is free. Overall good experience
Stayed at this hotel for a night with family. Quality of bedding leaves a lot to be desired and rooms needs bit of uplift. Buffet breakfast good though. Location is convenient but parking is difficult.
I had booked this hotel through Goibibo with great discount offered. I have booked Non AC room, but due to non availability of rooms, I was upgraded to AC room and I am surely happy about gesture by hotel. Check in is very smooth, although I checked in early, no policy was explained like other hotels do. Lift is very good. Staff is also very cooperative. Break fast is also good, not much variety though. Best part is the location, 2 mins walk from Kolhapur railway station. I was only worried of few grills/ fence missing in the the passage, which is dangerous for small kids, so pls take care. Rooms are very spacious, now a days we don't get such spacious rooms in hotels. I will surely visit them, when I am in Kolhapur.
Service need lot of improvements. They have boiler for half of the room so do not be surprised if your do not find heater in room. They do not clean every morning. We had to ask for cleaning. Food is good. Breakfast is plenty. Near to Railway is plus point.
We stayed in the family room and it was very nice. There were 4 single beds and we were 5 of us. My wife 3kids and me amd we had a nice stay. The kids really enjoyed the space in the room. The food was good but please make sure to mention that you want it less spicy if you are not used to spicy food because chillies are used very generously in most hotels and restaurants in Kolhapur. Overall 4 star from me. Will surely recommend this hotel for family stay.
My parents travelled to kolhapur for Mahalaxmi Devi Darshan last week and they stayed in Kohinoor square hotel for a day.. hence the review is based on their inputs... I required a early check in into the hotel for which the hotel manager Mr. Lohar obliged and am very thankful for his help.. as my parents reached the hotel early morning and were supposed to check out the same night the complimentary breakfast was eligible for the next day but on my request Mr Lohar agreed to have the breakfast on the same day... again a big thanks to the hotel management... the location of the hotel is very convenient from station and is almost 10 min by auto to mahalaxmi temple...but the in room cleanliness was not up to the mark and even toiletries were very limited...definitely will recommend this hotel to fellow travellers but also will request the hotel to maintain cleanliness specially the toilets.…
