We were there for a coupe of days. The manager Mr.Raghunath, is a very pleasant man of very few words but very caring and takes care of all the needs. The staff too are very good. The cottages are big and very tidy. Though the place is opposite to the beach, the rough tides makes it impossible to get in unless you know swimming. The beach road in front of the resort is very good for a shady walk both in the morning and evening. Our stay of two days was very serene and we spent a quiet time relaxing on the beach front.

Drove with friends from Bangalore via Chickmagalur and the Kudremukh National Park to the coast off Padubidiri town. Location of the resort is perfect , with surf and sands only steps away. Beach is okay , however a fair amount of debris has washed ashore. Great sunset views naturally.
Resort is very basic. Cottages with three and four beds offer only creature comforts. I would have expected bigger and better fitted toilets and better linen etc. TV reception in our cottage was dismal. Food and beverage is limited to what can be produced by the resort staff in the kitchen, so dont expect variety, and there are no outlets nearby you could go to.
Kaup beach a few kms away has a functioning lighthouse which permits visitors to the top and there are a few eateries nearby.

This is not a Hyatt or Holiday Inn. So don't expect that. Its a very cozy mid level resort but at an amazing location. The resort has basic amenities, nice clean rooms and pretty good service. But the best of all is that they have a private beach which is so clean, quiet and serene, it will just take your breath away. Breakfast was bad but dinner was awesome. The cook there can really cook sea food dishes.
They don't have any bar, so carry your own alcohol if you want a quiet drink at the seashore.
Most importantly to get to this resort don't follow the google map. the location in google map is wrong. Call the hotel and get directions. The land lines in the hotel does not work. You can call this cell number (09740946093) to reach them.

If there is anything like a perfect getaway, this comes the closest to it. Hands down the best beach in India, it is very clean, gives you an exclusive feel and the sand is white. This is the place you go to, if you are a small group of guys or girls and just want to relax by the beach with a beer in hand. Also try the local culinary preparations here , it is Superb!

We found this gem while on a road trip from Bangalore to Goa. This is located right on the beach, north of NIT K (around 10 KM further on the Edpally Panvel highway).

The resort is next to a pristine unspoiled beach (check photos). The rooms are super cheap (we paid 2.5k a night and very clean with basic amenities. The food was brilliant and we enjoyed tasty seafood prepared by the owner himself.

If you are looking to spend a lazy weekend relaxing on a beach, look no further!

My first reaction when I reached was "Fantabulous".
I was a bit skeptical about this place when I read some of the reviews but I used my 6th sense (developed from vast experience in exploring places) and it was once again proved correct. It is one of the very few places you would like to keep visiting. The rooms are clean, non-stinky, bed and bed sheets are neat, towels are fresh, bathroom is small but has all the basic amenities one needs as well it is clean. This is something in contrast to what I read in others reviews, may be they were looking for Taj or Marriott at this price point. The location is amazing with a beach that is very clean, where you will rarely find other tourists or drunken rowdies, a perfect beach destination to spend time with family and enjoy with kids. Kids will love this place. There are cute huts in the resort, each of them occupy two rooms and you are surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, extremely well managed. You will get peace of your life most of the day and you will wake up in the morning with chirping of birds. Don't miss to take a bare foot walk on the beach during early morning and witness fishermen activities when they are back from the sea sorting out different varieties of fish. If you are lucky some of them will be happy to take you around in the sea on their fishing boat, an experience you will cherish for a long time.
The food is simple but mouth-watering....I still can't forget Neer Dosa during the breakfast. Both Sridhar and Ramesh are hospitable and will do everything they can to make your stay pleasant and memorable. We were lucky and thankful to them as they accommodated us even though the resort was under going through pre-christmas maintenance. This way we were the only guest in entire resort and got some special attention to our needs :)
This place is only for nature lovers and those who want to stay put at one place for few days to spend time together and eat healthy and simple food. This place is a bit remote (not too far) so you must appreciate their efforts to keep it natural, clean and pleasant rather than cribbing about everything as if you are always used to staying in a star resort and eating 8 course breakfast.

The place is a combination rooms and has nothing to be called a resort. Service means what is the question you can ask.

Cleanliness is pathetic, no room service, no changing od bed spreads, no towels provided and even if u go ask they ration is with such a long face.

Food the biggest horror u want on a holiday, menu, quality was clearly pathetic & to add the vows the quantity is also rationed sometimes. Standards in the menu pulka, dal fry , veg stew & beans as a side dish....just gets repeated for every damn meal.

Courtesy does not exist in this place and has no meaning calling this a resort or holiday home. Good name will be an hostel.

I welcomed 2019 in this resort along with my family. Here's my take on the experience.

How to Reach: This resort is around 25km from Udupi, just 1.5km off NH-66 that connects Udupi and Mangalore. If you're getting down at the railway station, take an auto. If you're coming by bus, again you can take an auto. However, most buses, after dropping you at Udupi, will head to Mangalore, and cross a point on the highway which is hardly 1.5km from the resort. If you don't mind walking, just get down from the bus at the appropriate location. Google maps has this location accurately identified. If you're coming from Mangalore, this is around 45km from Mangalore. You'll get autos and cabs.

Location: This resort is far removed from any tourist hotspot, hence you'll be far away from any crowd, noise, traffic etc. But you will also be away from any restaurant or shops etc. Once you're in here, don't think of going out unless you're going to one of the more well-known beaches or Udupi/Mangalore. The best option is to have a personal transport. Then, life is easy.

The Resort: This resort is an enclosed property with 7-8 two-storey buildings, all painted brick-red and spread among very well-maintained gardens. Each building has up to 4 rooms. The main gate opens on the road that brings you to the resort, and just across the road is the sea. It will take you a maximum 2-3 mins to be on the beach. However, the rooms are not sea-facing as such. It is generally safe, and you can stay out at night up to 10:30, when they close the resort gates.
The facilities are sparse. You don't have a restaurant. They can provide you lunch and dinner if you pre-order them a few hours in advance. Here again, the options are basic. Breakfast is complimentary, but the spread is very simple. Other than that, getting any food at odd times (like a cup of tea at 7 in the evening) is generally not possible.

Rooms: The rooms are clean, not very big and are by default 3-bed accommodations. There's a TV, AC, a cupboard, 2 chairs, a table and a side-table. The bathrooms are nice and clean, and have a geyser. They'll give you basic toiletries during check-in, and not again unless you specifically ask. Each room has an attached balcony at the entrance of the room.

Staff: The staff are nice and friendly. They'll try their best to accommodate your requests as long as they are simple (like that 7pm tea). However, there was one person, Mr. Shridhar, who was particularly disappointing. He made it a point to refuse every single request we made. Often, a request turned down by him would be accommodated by another member of the staff. Within a day of our stay, we had started avoiding requesting anything from him, because we knew the answer would invariably be a 'No'. He was really a sad spot on the otherwise very friendly and accommodating staff.

The Beach: This is what you come here for. Deserted, very clean, calm waters - that's the beach in a nutshell. No matter what time of the day you go, the resort guests will be the only people you find on the beach. At night, you can enjoy the green-lit waves or starlit skies in pitch darkness. And it felt safe as well. If you're the type of traveller who loves to enjoy nature for a day or two on your vacation, and are not particularly fond of crowds, activities etc., then this is your place to be.

Overall, a nice place to spend a long weekend. Bring your own transport if possible, keep your expectations low on the services or luxury front, and you won't be disappointed.

I wasn't looking for a fancy beach resort with loads of facilities. Just a simple, charming place next to a beach (where I could swim, splash) with a decent restaurant that serves fresh food (especially seafood) and enough walking paths through nice seaside villages... Alas, all this turned out to be a pipe dream. This is NOT a resort but just a cluster of individual cottage like rooms within a compound wall just across the road from the sea and nothing else. It does not have a restaurant and the nearest one is 20 mins walk away on the main highway! Yes, the "resort" has a copy of the menu card from the restaurant and you can call in food but who wants to do that for every meal and end up eating cold food! As for the complimentary breakfast, it is a cup of watered down tea/coffee and "neer dosai" that the staff make for themselves! There is NO beach; yes, the ocean is right on the other side of the road but there was no sign of anyone in the water -- not even the locals. So no idea if it was safe to swim there or how clean the water was. We were originally planning to stay 4 nights at what we thought would be a charming, quiet haven. However, after walking in the dark (and barked at incessantly by street dogs) through the village road, crossing the highway to get to the restaurant (and you can imagine what a highway eating place is after dark!) and stumbling back through the unlit streets the first night, we had had enough. So checked out the next day and moved to a different place. The only thing good about the place was the manager and his assistant. They were kind and gentle people and tried to do their best to make our stay comfortable but unfortunately, there wasn't really much that they could do. At least, they did not insist that we pay for all 4 nights when we had stayed for just one night. This place needs to seriously upgrade its's facilities -- a restaurant on the premise at the very least. Even with that, there is little to do there. Even the walk through the village road gets boring after a while. Finally, if you don't have your own vehicle here, you are truly stuck.
