This was the second guesthouse I stayed at in Huay Xai and although both were the same price for the same basic room, the Riverside was definitely better. The shower was properly warm, the door locked well and although it didn't have a river view from the room, it did from the outside balcony of the hotel (after you leave...

Even though convenient location to ferry point and view over the Mekong River, the owner and staff are horrible unfriendly. They assumed we don't understand Lao , Thai but you wouldn't imagine how bad they talk about their foreign guests. Xenophobia pure. Place costs fifty percent more than other smaller guest houses not very clean and Internet even slower. Food...

We stayed here for two nights - one before heading to the Gibbon Experience, one directly after it. The place is fine and is essentially what you expect - a little better than a hostel. Check in/check out was fine. The room wasn't very clean but the bedding seemed to be, which was basically all that we deemed important. There's...

The only plus to this place is the location in a center of town that hopefully you'll never have to spend more than one night. Booked via hotels.com. at around $40 per night. Value = $4 per night. The desk clerk was not helpful upon check in at even verifying that we had a reservation. I think you could walk...

For a one night stay, it is what it is - very basic as expected . The rooms are not thoroughly cleaned, with stained linen and and the window could not be fully closed. We used our mosquito net over the bed at night and just hoped for the best. However it is fine for a night stay before embarking...

We stayed one night before gibbon experience. It is an average hotel. It's clean and centrally-located. The pricing is reasonable. We could see the river from our bedroom on 3rd floor (no lift) but there were buildings blocking the view. We had two power-cuts during a storm.

Do not stay at this place. We booked online and were told when we arrived that my debit card had not been charged. On checking out we were asked to pay in cash for our 2 night stay so we did. 2 days later my debit card was charged $AUD 47.52 despite having already paid in cash. Have emailed the...

This is a very good hotel! Everything was clean and the shower was good (warm). Also, the internet was fast and good and breakfast was included. After the Oudomsin hotel (Houay Xay) this has been a very pleasant surprise. Would definitively recommend.

We stayed here 2 nights on our way in and out of doing the zip line. There does not seem to be too many places to stay so this might have been the best of what there was. The rooms were OK, fairly clean and comfortable. The staff spoke very little english but we managed to communicate fine. They seemed...

A great sized room in a good location right on the quayside where the slow boats depart from. But I think it's hugely overpriced. I've stayed in many other hotels in Laos and this is by far the most expensive and nowhere near worth the price. Breakfast is included (but very basic) although the wifi connection is excellent.
