I did the 4 day, 3night trip and loved every moment, a great experience in the midst of the Peruvian Amazon. The patient and passionate guides were great at spotting a range of animals, we were lucky enough to see pink dolphins, a sloth, monkeys, birds, frogs and caiman, as well as catch piranha. The trip was well organised and...

My boyfriend and me did very short - 1 night - visit to Amazon jungle with this company. The service was fantastic, food and everything else was good. The only thing which we didn't like was that the guides didn't seem very talkative. Our first visit after arrival to the lodge was in the forest with quite a young boy....

We did the 6 day, 5 night tour last October 2016. Antonio and Marco arranged everything perfectly, from collecting us from the airport to dropping us back off there at the end of the trip. The Zacambu Lodge was great, comfortable, good food and company. Rolando a brilliant guide showing us sloth, tarantula, caiman, lizards, frogs, monkeys, birds, trees and...

The location of the lodge is perfect with lots of posibilities nearby. The days are packed with activities, walks and river expeditions. They are also flexible and open to your suggestions. We had a very memorable trip into the Amazon with the Amazon Jungle Tours. We stayed at the Zacambu Rainforest Lodge. Our guide was very knowledgeable and great at identifying the different creatures and interesting plant life. He also took great care to help us up and down the banks of the river and in and out of the boat....

I went for 4 days/3 nights tour with the company. I started with one other person and on day two 7 other people joined. Person I started with left on day 3 after which all the activities got repeated with other 7 people. I felt like it was so easy to do all the same activities for them not thinking...

The title sums it up quite well. The Amazon is undeniably amazing, although we were quite unlucky and it was raining several times even though it was the dry season, we left enriched by several unforgettable impressions. The rain made it more difficult to go into the forest because the only animals you would get to see are the mosquitos,...

A friend and I did the 4days/3nights trip at the beginning of May and had an incredible time. We contacted Amazon Jungle Trips on email more than a week before we arrived in Leticia with a load of questions and they always responded quickly. After looking into other companies and reading reviews we felt this was the best option for...

We were really pleased to have chosen Amazon Jungle Trips .From the office in Leticia to the lodge itself; everything felt warm and was very well organized. The experienced owner thinks a long to organize a tailor made trip. His sun Marco made sure we got on the right boat in the harbor as we do not speak Spanish... The...

The Zacambu Rainforest Lodge is located two (2) hours from Leticia up the Javari River, which forms the border between Peru and Brazil. The lodge is located in a diverse lowland, or floodable, jungle ecosystem that supports thousands of species of flora and fauna. This location offers our visitors the opportunity to stay in a little-known and relatively unexplored area, allowing immersion in new cultural and natural experiences in a place of unmatched beauty. Lodge: The lodge has three (3) buildings, each with double, triple, and family rooms, all sealed against mosquitos, with central bathrooms and showers, a hammock room for relaxation, lobby, bar-restaurant, and comfortable chairs for quiet relaxation in your free time while you chat with newfound friends and savor regional drinks. Restaurant: We use local ingredients including diverse species of fresh fish, vegetables, fruits, and tubers - all regional components to please our visitors with exquisite preparations. We use only potable water to prepare all food and drink. Staff: The lodge is staffed by local children of the jungle who are dedicated, friendly, and eager to meet our visitors' needs. We cultivate an atmosphere of collaboration and exchange with the nearby communities, offering to regional youth entertainment and employment opportunities in our tourism projects. ... more   less

“Take insect repellant, a light waterproof jacket/poncho, and a torch in particular. (For any night-time trips to toilet especially - slightly scary!) I would also include mosquito repellant clothing if possible and even a basic pair of walking shoes/boots. I would also definitely recommend taking malaria tablets and being careful with the water/getting bitten - friends of ours contracted dengue and malaria while in the amazon. (Though not in this particular place)”

“you are not coming here for a nice room or 5 star hotel in the Amazon. You are out experiencing the land: jungles, rivers all the time. You are provided with bedding, mosquito net & very good food.”
