After staying at Eden's Edge no other backpackers will ever compare. Liz and Chris are incredibly kind, helpful, knowledgeable and keep Eden's Edge looking like The Garden of Eden. If you are planning a visit to the Abel Tasman area I highly recommend to stay here! Will hopefully be back next year!!

A luxery accomodation relativley new located out of town center of Motueka in a more rural area. The room was wide and comfort , so was the longue with the library .The owners ( a couple ) were very helpfull in answering my questions about attractions around. The guest were from all ages. Yes, it was a stunning electrical storm, wasn't it? Lightening strikes are very rare in New Zealand, but our local area's power system was hit during the storm. As a preferred user we were re-connected quickly, but we're now in the process of developing a back-up power supply if this ever happens again. Thanks for the suggestion. More

The location well out of Motueka makes it necessary to have a car, but if you do that isn’t a problem (actually closer to Abel Tasman), and the location is quiet and fairly picturesque. They have put some work into the yard, there is plenty of parking, the lounge is filled with big comfortable couches, the outside terraces are very... More

Thank you for your great feedback; you put a lot of thought into your comments and we really appreciate that. We've now changed internet providers, so guests in private and shared rooms have free, high speed wireless internet connections. We do have 2-hour timers in our rooms' power outlets; this is for fire safety, because we are outside town boundaries... More

Staying in Motueka wasn’t originally on the itinerary I created for my travel mates and myself, so it’s funny we actually spent more time there than in any other part of NZ at this stage. While the Eden’s Edge doesn’t lie within the town but a bit outside (a car comes in handy, but pick-ups by the owner should be... More

Wow, your comments are really detailed and will be of great help to travellers wanting to stay in our area for a long time. Our excellent wifi is now complimentary with rooms (10Gb for the first night, for example) and has good connection and upload / download speeds. More

Charming, comfortable, friendly, clean, rustic, relaxing... strongly recommended! The fact that it's approximately 5km from the town is not a disadvantage: it means it's in the countryside and only determined travellers will get there... no noisy backpackers!!! Fully equipped kitchen, tv room and communal area. They have a bbq, swimming pool (not ready in November), picnic tables, bikes, etc. Our... More

Many thanks for giving us your feedback. Our swimming pool survived the earthquakes that hit Christchurch, but the acquifer which supplies its water has had a chemical change; it is now very high in naturally occurring iron. Our pool filter system has not been able to cope, so at the moment our pool is a pond, to give the acquifer... More

We stayed here our first two nights in New Zealand and it was our first stay in a backpackers. I loved the location. It was only 45 min from the Nelson airport. This was our favorite accommodation experience during our 4-week tour through New Zealand. My husband and I did not book ahead, so we took the only beds that were left: Two bunks in a 4-bed dorm.
