We stayed at the Cottage and we were extremely happy. We did a few hikes in the surrounded area and it was a treat to come back to the cottage after an active day out to enjoy the space and the view. The Cottage is private and detached from the other rooms and offers great views from the semi-private deck.... More

Thanks E, for your review. We’re pleased you took the initiative to go out early in the day to Abel Tasman National Park to see all it’s natural beauty and attractions. And, we’re happy you enjoyed The Cottage – it’s a cozy, private, fully-serviced place, with terrific views over the Bay and valley, which is a bit hard to leave,... More

My wife and I had an amazing experience here. Amazing views, perfect breakfast, every little detail taken care of. The hot tub was a big bonus. Perfect staging area for a trip out to Abel Tasman. Highly recommended!

Thanks, G, for your review. As you wrote, it’s good to come back to a nice, hot, spa pool to relax in after walking, kayaking, (or, in your case, canyoning) in Abel Tasman National Park. And, as we are only a short drive from the park, you don’t have to get up too early to still get to the park... More

We stayed 4 nights in the cottage and we can honestly say this is a special place to stay. On top of the excellent facilities and location, our hosts made things even better with little extras reflecting their wish that guests enjoy the experience. Genuine pleasure to be able to write this report knowing that all who follow will be... More

Thanks for your thoughtful review, M&J; your words are very kind and the sincerity of your comments is obviously appreciated. Privacy/solitude is something we also value at Awatea, and being in our special location allows that quite easily, while still being only 10 minutes from Motueka and a few minutes more to Abel Tasman National Park – what more could... My wife and I recently stayed at Awatea Tasman Bay for 5 nights and wish we could have stayed even longer! We initially were only booked for 2 nights but extended our stay as we enjoyed it so much! Thanks for your great review, Matt – we were happy you extended your stay with us because in addition to giving you the extra time to see and do a few more activities in the area (kayaking, walking, wineries, sightseeing, etc.) we were able to find a bit more time to talk with you both to hear about your days... My husband and I stayed at the Awatea Tasman Bay cottage for two nights as part of a three week trip of New Zealand. It was a wonderful and memorable experience. We ended up getting groceries and eating in because the cottage and the view were idyllic. The cottage was incredibly well appointed and clean. The owners have thought of... More

Thank you for such a great review! We are very happy you enjoyed staying in our well appointed Cottage and took advantage of its cooking facilities and magnificent views. My husband and I travelled throughout New Zealand's North and South Islands - our 3 night stay at Awatea Tasman Bay was the ultimate in luxury and comfort. The beautifully designed and well-crafted cottage sits high above Tasman Bay, overlooking the Motueka River, with easy access to Abel Tasman National Park. Our Hosts John and Scott were mindful of every... More

The website and even photos here on TripAdvisor don't do Awatea Tasman Bay justice. The views are stunning, the location is great (peaceful, quiet, close to Abel Tasman) and the owners/hosts are helpful, thoughtful and lovely people.

Thank you so much for the nice review, and especially mentioning how difficult it is to capture in a photo the amazing view of Tasman Bay and the Motueka River, the orchards, the mountains, and the ever-changing colours of the surrounding farmland.
