Awatea Tasman Bay was the loveliest place I stayed in New Zealand. Truly beautiful grounds, luxurious room, and gracious hosts. The views of Tasman Bay are stunning and the location perfect for day trips in the area. Scott and John have created a true oasis. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Thank you for your kind words, Lucy. We’re glad you had a good day for sailing in the Abel Tasman NP and that you were able to relax, unwind, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Awatea Tasman Bay. Perhaps we’ll see you again someday? Cheers, john

What a fabulous place, the most stunning views! We stayed in the cottage which was so comfortable, nothing was overlooked. You have the best of both worlds, comfort and privacy but then your gracious hosts Scott and John are there to share their lovely house and a glass of wine with you! Close to all the things you must do...

Thanks, Sarah. We were pleased to be able to share our vistas of the nearby Tasman Bay, Richmond Range, D’Urville Island, the Motueka River valley, and more. And, we’re glad you were able to ‘christen’ our new table/bench on ‘Picnic Point’, overlooking the Bay and Valley. Cheers, john

This is a little spot of heaven, high on a hill with outstanding panoramic views. We stayed in the cottage and wanted to move in. It was so tidy and beautiful high-end construction. Scott and John were most gracious. It was an easy location to tour the wineries and boat up to Abel Tasman for a walk. We definitely recommend.

Hi, Maggie. Many thanks for your very kind review; we're obviously happy you had a great time while you were staying at Awatea Tasman Bay. You're right, we are an excellent location for getting to various places and activities around our area, with the Abel Tasman National Park only a half-hour's drive away, and being within 10 minutes drive of...

After the first of our 2-night stay we changed our plans for the next couple of days and booked a 3rd night at Atwater Tasman Bay. That tells the story of what we thought of Scott and John's wonderful cottage in Motueka. They have put so much thought into every detail of their place. And who wouldn't love their sweet...

Thanks M. It was a pleasure meeting you both during your stay here and we hope we can catch up again someday. As you noted, we are close to the regional wineries (many do tastings and offer food, as you know) and some very lovely beach walks. Plus, there are those pleasant evenings on the deck watching the dusk fall...

My girlfriend and I stayed two nights. Scott and John were fantastic hosts! The cottage was beautiful and very cozy. It has everything we needed and was clean and smelled amazing (seriously, the fragrances in the cottage made it feel that much more luxurious). Also, since this stop was the halfway point of our trip, we needed to do laundry...

Hi, J&A. Thanks for your nice comments. We were happy to chat over breakfast about the many things to see and do in the area and we’re glad you had a chance to enjoy the abundant natural beauty of Abel Tasman National Park, with its superb beaches and great waterside and hill walks. We hope the rest of your travels...

PERFECTION. If we had it to do over again, we would have stayed 4 nights instead of 2. Actually, we wanted to move in and never leave. We have been at some nice B&B’s but we can’t think of one where more details have been thought of than by gracious hosts, Scott and John. After a few days kayaking and...

Hi, Shauna (& M), Wow, thanks so much for those kind descriptions – maybe we should have you do our next website text writing. Lol. Seriously, thanks for your kind comments. Sorry we weren’t able to put you up for the additional night(s), but, as you know, January and February are the busiest months in the NZ tourism season and...

The location is convenient to the coastal activities and our hosts were able to provide good advise and infromation. The breakfast was healthy and plentiful and they have fast internet. The room...

Hi, G&M. Thanks so much for your glowing comments. You're quite right about being secluded (with our nearest neighbour over a half a kilometre away!) But, still, as you mentioned, we're a short 20 minute drive to the centre of Abel Tasman NP departure activities. And, of course, we are also only a 10 minute drive into town where there...

Really fantastic place to stay near Abel Tasman. John and Scott have an amazing home and the guest areas are nicer than any hotel we stayed in. Thanks J&S. We try to make our breakfast layout something special, with fresh fruits (seasonal) from our area (and sometimes our own garden) and maybe even a freshly baked loaf of bread every day, depending upon guest needs/wants. Also, given all there is to see and do in Abel Tasman NP, we want our guests to be fed a good...

We spent a few weeks in great hotels and B&Bs in New Zealand. Awatea Tasman Bay was by far our favourite! John & Scott are exemplary hosts! They like to help with any kinds of random questions one may have and are genuinely nice people. The house itself is very modern, but has a cozy feel to it as well....
